I have gone to Dr. Muse for a couple of decades now. He has always been helpful and taken time during our scheduled appointment, to answer any, and all of my questions, however, lately the appointment has been made for a specific time but I have ALWAYS waited for a minimum of an hour. Some of the that time has been spent in the waiting room, and some of that has been spent in the actual exam room after my vitals have been taken by the medical assistants. It is very frustrating to have a scheduled appointment time but not be seen for at least an hour. During my waiting" time, I have heard the medical assistants right outside the door, carrying on with no regard of my time or comfort. I have never been offered an explanation of why the doctor is so far behind, or how much longer he will be. I have never been offered a drink of water, or whatever, while waiting endlessly. It is very frustrating and seems to be the norm. I regret having to post a negative review, because it isnt in my nature to do so, but I feel like my time is totally disregarded and that he has too many patients to give prompt service and attention to his patients. By far the best doctor I have ever been too! I have been to so many doctors,specialists, surgeons on and on and I have never met a smarter Doctor. He actually cares and helps you. The other reviews talking about how they have had to wait so long or it takes months to get in is because he is a GOOD doctor. He has saved and changed my life forever. If your biggest complaint is that he is super busy then thats not really a complaint. A good sign of him being a good doctor is him being extremely busy and hard to get into with long waiting time . Every time we have had to wait a long time in the exam or waiting room the nurses always check on us multiple times. They always give my son stickers and things to play with. They also always make sure we are okay and they apologize. I started seeing him about 5 months ago and I am not kidding he saved my life and changed it forever. I highly recommend him. I drive an hour to see him 1-2 times a month. Its worth every hour in the car or waiting room.

I have seen Dr. Muse for over 2 years now. And I am grateful to have found him. I just told him during my last visit how much I appreciate how much he cares about his patients and I dont feel like he is in it for the money. You will always have one or two will be negative or have something negative to say. And yes there are occasional waits. But I have yet to come across a dr that I havent had to wait for. And yes it takes a couple weeks to get in to see him. But as someone else has said, it is because he is an amazing doctor and you have to wait in line like everyone else to see him.No matter what health problem I have, he is always willing to listen and help. If he cannot help, he will get me to someone who can. If you are considering a new doctor, he is worth the couple week wait. I waited myself.

Dr. Muse is both compassionate and has an extensive medical knowledge. He does not rush his patients in and out. There are occasions when he is running behind, but I get that in medicine there are unexpected emergencies and inconsiderate patients who show up late for their appointments, putting other appointments behind. Dr. Muse shows the same kindness and consideration for all patients. Personally, I hope he never retires because I have no doubt it will be difficult to find another physician with Dr. Muses knowledge and compassion and ability to treat difficult cases successfully.

I think Dr. Muse is an extremely good & patient doctor. I felt he genuinely cared for my health. I did not have a long waiting time even at the end of the day. He is a very candid doctor & I like that part. I thought his staff was very efficient, respectful & very happy. I have been searching long & hard for a really good doctor & finally found a GREAT one! He was a referral from a good friend...only way to find what you are looking for. I say "5 Stars" for Dr. Muse as well as his wonderful staff! I am surprised his staff let him have a vacation!

I have been a patient of Dr. Muse for several years and am continually impressed by not only Dr. Muse, but his entire staff. Recently, his medical assistant Alicia went above and beyond to assist me. She called me promptly, gave me thorough and incredibly helpful information and called me back to follow up (more than once). I do not leave reviews often, but I feel that Dr. Muse truly earns 5 stars for his knowledge, professionalism and dedication to helping his patients. 5 stars for the staff of Highland Family Practice, too. He doesnt care about people, is all about pleasing the insurance companies, and the support staff treat you as a number with no consideration for the person. Go there and you will be treat as a subject but never as a patient. After years of visiting him, he didnt have 3 minutes because I didnt have my insurance card, never mind is the same insurance I have for the last 10 years, .....but again, his concern is not the people, what it is important is the $$$$$ It has to be a doctor out there who practices medicine to heal people!!!

I called in today , June 26 2017 to schedule an appointment and was appalled of Valeries bad attitude. It is extremely disappointing she represents the front office because thats the impression you receive as a brand new patient. I had a few concerns and her rebuttal was pure attitude by raising her voice and repeating herself . Im allowed to kindly express my concerns. Unfortunately, our entire family will have to go to a different practice that absolutely provides 100 percent customer service! Disgusted !!!

Dr. muse is amazing! I see him for Suboxone cause I am addicted to heroin, for a long time and now Ill be clean in February for 4 years! He is so nice, understanding, tells you the truth and what you need to hear. Gets to the point but also spends time with you if you need to talk about anything. Worth every minute to wait for him when he is busy!

Had my first appointment with Dr. Muse today. This was a refreshing experience as he actually took the time to listen to all my concerns and address them all. He was very patient and thorough. For the first time in a long time I felt as if I really mattered to a Doctor. Would defiantly recommend to family and friends.

Dr. Derek Muse performs my physical exam every year. He is very thorough and he always gives me tips regarding my health. He often cites recent research on topics pertinent to my situation. His staff is friendly and very responsive. I highly recommend Dr Muse and Highland Family Practice.
