Ive been taking my small breed dogs to this office for 23yrs. No issues. Ive always recommended them to friends. 5 yrs ago I got a large breed dog and the experience has been quite different and unpleasant. They started seeing our dog as a pup but as he got older and bigger Dr. Jones is clearly not qualified to treat large dogs. He is petrified of our large dog who is petrified of going to the vet so their encounters are very uncomfortable. My Dog has to be muzzled and the Doctor approaches him in a very skeptical manner. It puts me in a very uncomfortable position as I feel awful that my dog is traumatized of the vet and I feel bad that the vet feels so uncomfortable treating my dog. Ive never had my dog bite anyone or anything. I work at home with small children and children with special needs and have never had a behavioral problem with my dog. My dog is with children and around their moms daily. He is afraid of new men-strangers really. He barks and gets really nervous when approached by new men. I have 6 children all boys one girl. 3 of my boys are full grown and their male friends come and go with no issues as well. Going for a visit with Dr. Jones is a huge dilemma and chore. Every time I schedule my dog I explain to the staff that I would prefer the female vet and they refuse because of his size and supposed behavior. I just recently found out that Dr. Jones office has categorized my dog as aggressive because he barks and growls during the visits. Frankly if every time I went to my doctor they treated me like a mental patient and strapped me up I too would be very unpleasant. We got another medium size pup 2yrs ago and Ive never experienced having to muzzle him nor any problems during his visits at their office but yet according to their staff both my dogs have notes on their files of serious aggression. I called their office to reschedule my 2yr old pups appointment just to discover it had been cancelled with no notice to me and that Dr. Jones had asked his staff to never schedule my dogs at their office again. This is very upsetting and unprofessional. Ive been a great client for so many years and now my dogs are being exiled because Doctor Jones is afraid of my dog barking and growling at him even though every time I call them and ask for a female vet they refuse. Im at a loss for words. So in a nut shell if you have a dog who is large or afraid of going to the vet, going to Arlington Animal Hospital is not a wise choice. Dogs have always been my family since I was a child. They are my family, my children. There is nothing more hurtful than to experience your child/pet/family be discriminated and exiled.

I have been taking my dog here since he was 8 weeks old ( hes 5 now). Originally i started coming here because it was the closest vet to my location but I quickly realized i had discovered the gold mine of veterinary clinics! Dr. Jones is the most amazing guy ever and I have never felt like my dogs were in safer hands then when hes working with them. He always gives great advice and knows how to handle and calm a nervous pup and owner. He has never tried to sell me something that I truly didnt need, unlike other veterinary clinics in the area that seem to take advantage of an owners willingness to do whatever it takes for their pet. Over the years i have moved away from Arlington and now live about 30 mins away from the hospital but after terrible experiences with other veterinary clinics in my new area I will never go anywhere but the Arlington Animal Hospital. Their vet techs are super helpful and caring and even the front desk staff is absolutely amazing and always eager to help. I honestly cant get my thoughts together writing this review because this place just has so many wonderful qualities! If you live in the NOVA area and need a trusted vet GO HERE!

We have two cats and a dog and theyve treated our pets like their own. Dr. Fred Jones has been amazing with our cats (he specifically hasnt seen our dog yet). Our cats get freaked out pretty easy, but theyre great with Dr. Jones. The best part is, they dont make you feel rushed. They want you to be able to ask all the questions you want. They did something incredible at our last appointment. Dr. Jones said "just call me in a week and tell me how hes doing. No need to bring him in again." If a vet was JUST looking to make money, they would INSIST on bringing in your pet again. By allowing us to call to give an update, they make no money. They really are looking our for our best interest overall! Dont look any further for an excellent vet.

Recently brought my new 4 month old Golden Doodle, Buddy, to Arlington Animal Hospital. I have been 3 times and everyone has been warm and friendly and my little guy felt very comfortable throughout. I decided to write a review after my most recent visit. After boggling a first attempt to cut Buddy toenail, I phoned Arlington Animal Hospital to see if they might be able to help or to offer some guidance. To my surprise, the got us seen within 30 mins. We were greeted by two attentive, caring vet techs who helped patch up the toenail and taught me how to property trim the rest of his toes. Not only did they not charge to help manage our little crisis, they really made our day! Exceptional service all around!

I trust Arlington Animal Hospital and have been going here for over three years. My dog Linus has been battling cancer for five years and he has to go in often for checkups and treatment. Dr. Jones and the front office staff are amazing! They are always there when I need them and are all very friendly. I feel comfortable knowing that this animal hospital does a great job and that makes me trust them even more. I have referred all of my neighbors to them because they are the best in town. I also like how Dr. Jones calls me up to check on Linus on his own personal time because he cares. I like how the front staff cheers on Linus after he comes out into the waiting room, or got a bath. It makes me smile.

I have been here twice now and my initial experience with them was really great. I called in with a somewhat emergency and they were so helpful on the phone. They even had me on hold while they tried to figure out how to squeeze me into a last minute appointment. There was no room, but I literally called same day and I called after noon so it was a shot in the dark. But I could sense they really tried. My experience with the female vet (I forget her name =/) was wonderful. Her and another vet tech that came in to help with my pups nail trim, she was also so sweet. This hospital is great! I am so pleased. Bring your animals here people!
