Review: Dr. Kostov Location: Riverside Procedure: C-5/C-6 Spinal Fusion Surgery Dat: October 2015 I met Dr. Dean Kostov in September 2015 after a year and half of cervical spine pain, countless ineffective therapies and no improvement to my condition. Dr. Kostov was the first professional to provide me with crucial insight into my medial condition and why my pain worsened, despite having seen dozens of Dr. and medical profesisonals. I have never experienced a more profession and personable medical expert in the past five years. The purpose of this review is to capture my experience with him and his team. Dr. Kostov’s accolades speak for themselves— he graduated from leading medical school (University of Pittsburg Medical School) and he completed one of best Neuroendovascular Neurosurgery internships in the nation. Dr. Kostov has over a decade of diverse, hand’s on experience in a multitude of nuerosurgery sub-specialities. Dr. Kostov’s unique and insightful understanding of “holistic health” enables him to be a leader in over hundred of spine surgeries throughout his career. I know, beyond a shadow of doubt, that this is the reason he was the first Dr. in 18 months to properly diagnosis me after so many others missed crucial details. Dr. Kostov helped me understand why my cervical spine pain worsened over that time period— despite the 95+ medical visits and therapies I completed in over a year, my condition worsened and no one seemed to know why. Dr. Kostov and his P.A. took the time to go over all of records and help me understand my condition. Further analysis and education eventually revealed that that my injury was worse than expected. Thanks to their knowledge and advanced Riverside MRI imagining devices/techniques, I could finally understand the root and extent of my chronic pain. Dr. Kostov and his team went out of their way to help me secure a surgery date as soon as possible. They recognized the degree of pain I was in and the potential consequences if the condition remained untreated. They helped me understand what steps I need to take prior to surgery and post-surgery in order to maximize my recovery. If I had questions along the way, I could always count on the professionals to get back to me as soon as possible. The customer service was outstanding. Additionally, Dr. Kostov was very attentive prior to and post surgery. He helped my family feel comfortable with the procedure and post-operative actions. He provided the quality time and communication needed to build trust and feel confident in my decision. Dr. Kostov’s professionalism and customer service continue to impress me, even weeks after the surgery. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. My cervical spine pain is finally getting better for the first time since 2014. I am grateful to have worked with Dr. Kostov, his P.A., the nursing and administrative staff at Riverside Nuerosurgery. I proudly recommend them to my family, friends and coworkers.

C3-C4 (maybe C4-C5?) Spinal Fusion - amazing recovery after paralysis from neck down - mom was walking by week 4-5 with assistance & now now no assistance at all (needless to say almost all feeling returned - fine motor skills even back to normal), no neckbrace....he was the blessing we needed & the passion hr expressed & showed for his profession is remarkable - out family is forever indebted to him
