One of the most important aspects for me in choosing a Veterinarian is their interaction with my pet. Dr. Jennifer Kelly has far exceeded these expectations. Her level of caring and interactions with us and our pets has made Companion Animal Hospital our choice for our furry children for 8 years. From regular examinations to the sadness of putting a beloved pet down, this facility has been there for us every step of the way. Dr. Kelly and her staff understand someone who has pets with special needs and is there to help in any way they can to assist you and your pet. In 2012 our 8 year Rotty had cancer, she was a big girl, Dr. Kelly and Laura came to my home to assist in taking her back to the facility to allow her to cross the Rainbow Bridge. The most important thing for me was the compassion and caring for both my family and my pet that was exhibited that sad day. Jennifer Lewis, Missy, and Victor know my pets and have assisted many times over the phone with medication or situations that may have arose. This facility is the best in Northern Virginia with Dr. Kelly leading the way offering the best and most through care for a pet. Thanks Companion for all you have done for Hershey (aka Mr. Hershey) Cate, and Holly. We love you guys!

The staff at Companion Animal Hospital are very careless and inconsiderate. My cat was there for a routine tooth cleaning. While he was under anesthesia it was discovered that he had a tumor in his mouth. The vet called my house and spoke to my roommate, NOT ME THE CATS OWNER. She pressured my roommate to make the decision on the spot to have him put down. My roommate tried to contact me, but I was unreachable at that moment. The vet (Dr. Villar) pressured my roommate until she agreed to have my cat put down. There was no reason why they couldnt have waited another day so at the very least I could say goodbye to him. I was petting his face and mouth just yesterday and he showed no sign of pain. And he has been eating normally, so he obviously was not in a lot of pain. There was no reason for this urgency to have him euthanised. Instead they contacted someone who was not even the pets owner and let them decide the fate of MY cat. On top of that actually expect me to PAY THEM for killing my cat without my permission. I am seriously considering legal action and am in the process of consulting with lawyers.

They were beyond awesome. The most caring Vet I have ever been to. I have had multiple pets my entire life, and have been to several different places over the years, but this place is special. They were booked solid when I brought my cat in for an emergency, but dropped everything and my cat was seen right away. Seriously, the staff there made me feel welcome. I was offered a cold diet coke, and when the procedure rolled into the lunch hour, they even ordered enough food so I could eat lunch with them. Then the prices. Hundreds less than the nearest Veterinary clinic, and there are three of them within one mile. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and plan on using them forever.

Great doctor and technicians. I was seen about 15 minutes past my appointment but there was ano emergency surgery that came in. They do a $5 charge for medical waste which I guess is a syringe from a rabies shot and a few cleaning gauze to clean a wound...never seen that charge before. Total was $122. $68 for initial visit, $5 waste, $38 3 year rabies shot, $11 for meds. They made Scarlet feel very comfortable and made sure I understood and had everything I needed before leaving. Even the people in the waiting room were very open and nice to us. Defiantly better than our last Petsmart vet. Only weird thing was the waste charge but Id still go back.

We have been coming to Companion for over 10 years that has spanned 2 dogs, and the team at Companion has been terrific each and every visit. Our first dog, Jazz, a Golden Retriever, made it all the way to 18 years with the help of the Doctors and staff at Companion! And, when she did pass, they were the best, giving us time to grieve with her in a comfortable room during her last minutes. Our current dog Mercy (also a Golden) receives just as good care from them, and even though we live in Arlington, we love making the drive out to Springfield to get the best, personable service from the team there at Companion. Well done!

Ive taken several dogs to them and they took excellent care of them. I also boarded my dogs there. One of my dogs had major surgery and both the surgery and recovery went very well. Another had cancer, and when the final moments came, I called to arrange for euthanasia and they let me bring her right in rather than let her suffer another minute. My previous vet had made my dog wait until 6 p.m. when Id called them at 9 a.m. (Thats why I switched vets) I would recommend them to anyone with a dog or cat they consider more of a family member than just a pet. They even bring their own pets to work with them.

Companion Animal Hospital was recommended to me after I had a not-so-pleasant experience at another hospital, closer to home. I travel 30 minutes so my cats can be checked here, treated here, etc. Their staff is experienced, compassionate and loves your pet as much as you do. I took my 16 year old dog here to be put down and I wasnt sure what to expect. They gave me several options- which method to use, took as much time with my dog as I needed, etc. They seemed to know exactly what to say in this devastating time and had tears in their eyes as well as we said goodbye.

I love this practice!! Weve been going here for 9 years. Our little 8 yr old Chinese Crested got pancreatitus and we thought he was going to die. Dr Kelly and staff, nursed him back to health over the period of a week. The love and affection they showed him was amazing, people dont even get that kind of care in hospitals! In short they worked a miracle:)))!

Dr Lemke left the clinic, but she and Dr Kelly treated my dogs for years. Dr Kelly is very compassionate and goes the extra mile to make you feel great about bringing your pet there.
