Montclair Animal Hospital is first rate and you couldnt ask for a better group of people to care for your loved ones. We have trusted Dr Vernon, Becky and the staff to care for our pets since we moved to the area in the 1980s. Our pets have thrived and lived to ripe old ages under their care. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. They go above and beyond for the pets in their care. For example, we had an extremely people-oriented geriatric cat and when we had to board her the staff allowed her stay with them in the front office during business hours. She was content to sit with them and watch the office activities. Also, when our beloved 17- year- old poodle was diagnosed with bone cancer, Dr Vernon took great care in discussing the illness, options for her care and making end-of-life decisions. At one point, both my husband and I were required to leave on business trips and our daughter was working long hours. We were distraught about leaving the dog alone during the day. Becky offered to come by our house each morning to pick up the dog and take her to the office so she wouldnt be alone, could be given her pain medications and still be at home with our daughter in the evening and sleep comfortably in her own bed. We have recently adopted a rescue kitten and the first thing we did was make an appointment with Dr Vernon. We will continue to rely on Montclair Animal Hospital to provide quality and compassionate veterinary care to the newest addition to the family. We feel very confident in recommending Montclair Animal Hospital to anyone in need of veterinary care for their pets.

I have lived in the area about 1.5 years and have appreciated the extra care and attention my pups have received. Shortly after moving to the area and switching Vets we added an English Bulldog to the family, well my little darling unfortunately has dang near every ailment that comes with the breed. Dr Vernon has been informative, supportive and compassionate with my little girl and ensuring we had the information needed to care of her properly. She is unfortunately a regular at the vet unlike the other pup, but we are happy we have Montclair Vet and the warm and polite staff to take care of all the animals. They know her on a first name basis and always take the time to give her the attention she feels she desperately needs..Not really she is an attention hog. On several occasions I have incidents where I needed to get her in ASAP as I was not familiar with some of the bulldog issues and they always make room for her same day. Dr Vernon has also done research and made calls through the community to find me specialists that could handle her more serious ailments and provided sound consultation. She is always happy to go and that makes my life a tad bit easier.

We have been taking our pets to Dr Vernon and the Montclair Animal Hospital for more than 25 years and we can highly recommend them for all your pets medical care and animal boarding needs. While we have had many opportunities to go elsewhere over the last 25 years, we find the quality of care and the professionalism of the staff at Montclair Animal Hospital beyond compare and wouldnt consider going anywhere else except Montclair Animal Hospital. Dr Vernons knowledge, compassion, and true concern for the health and well being for our dogs is unparalled. Dr Vernon and his wife have been there for us for many, many years, from the joy of bring our new puppies in for their first checkup to providing compassion and support as they get older and the time comes to say goodby. His wife and his staff have always been extremely helpful, courteous and professional and is ready and willing to explain everything and answer any and all questions we have had. The hopsital is always extremely clean and well maintained. We will always continue to bring all our three dogs to Montclair Animal Hospital and highly recommend that you do too.

We have been taking our pugs to Montclair Animal Hospital since 1988 and the service has always been above and beyond, our first pug hated to get her nails done and would actually stop breathing, Dr. Vernon and his wife would come to our house to clip her nails. Our second pug became very sick and his wife drove me to the regional hospital and stayed with me, leaving a very busy office short of staff, when we got the bad news, both his wife and Dr. Vernon stayed with me as we put Lucy down. Dr. Vernon is a exceptional vet, he has always taken the time to check back after office visits, he spent hours doing research on his own when one of my dogs developed SCARS, did a great job on surgery for two of my pugs and has always shown compassion and care. His wife runs an efficient though busy office, is always cheerful and friendly. I highly recommend Montclair Animal Hospital.

We started going to Montclair Animal Hospital by accident, looking up a vet for our little hamster, Speedy. After getting a dog, we continued to go there, and not only are they personable and professional, they treat you like family. We now have four dogs, all Chihuahuas, and we have been going there for almost ten years now. We have had occasion to go to other vets for emergencies, but we always come back to Dr. Vernon and his staff at the Montclair Animal Hospital because of the personalized service. They always call to let us know the results of any tests, Dr. Vernon is very patient about explaining anything you have concerns about, and they remind us of any shots, wellness exams, or any other requirements to keep our pets healthy. I dont know of any other doctor that does that. If there were 6 stars, I would easily rate them a 6.

Wish I wasnt writing this review, I really do but to be fair and to help others (warn really) I have to give this quick story. Look, we get it all vets are businesses. Compassion is second. But any business should be concerned about their customer or risk losing that can customer and many others. The short story is that rude employes in a service industry is a bad business plan, keeping your word paramount. We had an appointment for nurturing, found vet at half the price, canceled the appointment within their 48 policy and they still billed us! Their own employee confirmed the cancellation and later apologized for the problem. An appoinment is not a contract, their was no service, no consideration, and only rudness from their bookkeeper. We now go to a wonderful vet in Dumfries.

Montclair Animal Hospital, (M.A.H.), is top notch for veterinarian care and animal boarding. Dr. Vernon is extremely knowledgeable, current, thorough and concerned about your pet. The hospital is well maintained and cleanliness is obviously one of many priorities. His wife and staff are also courteous, helpful and most of all genuinely concerned about your animal. I have had dogs all my life and found M.A.H. in 1987 upon moving to the area and after visiting other veterinarians in the vicinity. The compassion expressed and the care given to my dying 15 year old dog by Dr. Vernon and his wife will never be forgotten by myself nor my family. My present dog is cared for by M.A.H and I would recommend them to any pet owner.
