I dropped my pet off to be seen by the vet for his red nose as well as a blood sample/urine sample test. When I arrived they sat me down with a rough estimate of $200+ for the services that day. I agreed, until the tech ran into the room in a panicked manner to tell me my pet was not "happy" and needed to be sedated or else he could become "blocked" and sent to the emergency room. The tone and manner of how she delivered this message put me under the impression my pet was in a life-threatening emergency and if we didnt do anything quick he could possibly go into cardiac arrest. I was not prepared for how rushed I was in making the decision to give him anesthesia. The numbers quickly rose to $400+ and then $500+ after the antibiotics they were going to give him. At this point I am completely flustered and asked about payment plans to which I was redirected to apply for a carecredit card. I then applied for the card and wrote down my card information and copied two forms of id for the hospital to have on file for when my boyfriend would pick him up later that day to pay. They assured me twice that he would be able to complete the transaction through my new carecredit later that day (as I would be at work). They assured me my pet would be okay and everything would be taken care of. I left the facility feeling stressed, hopeless, and irritated. Through the day I received 4 missed calls from the hospital and so I called back and was put on hold for what seemed an eternity. Four different times someone would answer and then put me back on hold. I finally told the fifth person that I was at work and needed to get back and to please let me speak to the vet who was trying to reach me, which I was then finally transferred to. That was the most frustrating customer service phone call I have ever made. The vet told me everything was fine and my pet just needed to be prescribed a new diet. She was very vague. I asked her about my pets red nose, to which she replied it wasnt anything to be concerned about unless it got worse then to bring him back to them. At this point, I was outraged because this was one of the main reasons I brought him to the vet in the first place because it had gotten worse and she gave me useless information. Later that day when my boyfriend picked my pet up, he told them I left my carecredit information with my two forms of ID to pay for my pets visit. The receptionist denied anything of the sort and refused to check or look for it. He ended up paying for his visit with another form of payment which defeated the purpose of me applying for carecredit in the first place! He then asked about what was wrong with my pet to which none of the staff there was able to answer. The packet they gave us had no information about the pH level or test results of my pet. The knowledge of the staff and the professionalism was less than satisfactory to put it lightly. After receiving my pet, Ive noticed his eyes are red and one eye is always squinted. My pet continues to sneeze and his nose is still red/bloody-looking. I dont think we are ever going back here again.

They were lucky they got this out of me only because I had too. Just moved into the area 8 months ago and I have had banfield for a few years now my previous vets and so on are wonderful. But these people in landstown are careless and I DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! My one cat had to go in for a routine teeth cleaning, shots and so on. I picked him up got him home he was missing a patch ofbfur on his ear had white gooky stuff all over his eyes he was sticky and was limping for a few days. Take for granted ivknew he would be walking a little funny because of part of his checkup. Been there done that so I recognize part of what Im dealing with afterwards. I called them and they fed me a bunch of bullshit. Im not an expert but do not play me for an idiot I know better after having such a great vet team before you!!! I do not trust this place as far as I can throw them!!

After a year and a half, my experience: Front desk is perpetually poorly staffed, and no one seems to understand the "system" very well; always try to add on unnecessary services that would cost hundreds of dollars; deceptively emails me about "necessary" procedures/treatments for my wellness plan, but they end up not actually covered by the plan; and an outright erroneous diagnosis of what turned out to be simply fleas. Twice I have brought my cat in for an appointment (which stresses him out), only to go straight home because I thought the appointment was covered by the wellness plan, but there was a "miscommunication", and it was not necessary and would have cost a couple hundred dollars. I will never go back to a Banfield hospital.

There is one vet there who is positively fabulous, Dr. A is one of the best veterinarians I have seen. The other vet is very unpleasant and does not seem to like listening to the pet owners, and will state that she needs to speak to people in a "stern voice". This is unacceptable behavior in a person who is working with our pets/family members. The office manager is not very easy to work with either, can be unpleasant as can one or two of the front girls. I have my pets on their wellness plans and while they are a great Value, it makes it difficult when the experience can be unpleasant... Though I have NEVER had an unpleasant experience when dealing with Dr. A, kind and compassionate with the animals. Good with people.

Dr. Summer is the only vet that, not only knows what she is doing, but is halfway considerate and understanding. The following are just some of the issues I have had: Not open during listed operating hours, so incredibly slow, they push unnecessary procedures to increase the bottom line, they charge for EVERYTHING (why am I getting a biohazard disposal fee when I am paying for a vet visit. 39.95 to walk through the door but not to include disposal of needles?), Banfield Corporate Offices also make it a pain to get refund for a service that was NOT provided. The front desk staff is friendly, but, as a whole, save yourself the frustration and leave Banfield alone.

They saved our dogs life, and the vet who took care of us was sooo flipping nice. She called us on her off day to see if our dog was recovering okay! This is our go-to place now. Edit... Downgraded to 3 stars. Weve been working with these folks for years, and the service has been consistently hit or miss. They have too many customers and too few folks working there. Its always crazy, always a few hours of my life gone. Dont expect these folks to be able to help in a pinch... if you have a months heads-up, everything goes fine. Expect to wait on hold when you call.

Banfield in general is not the best place to go to for regular pet care. Despite paying the monthly fee for pet insurance, every time I walk in it cost extra. The original selling point is that you save on the yearly exam and dental yet I pay more for those visits than I do for the yearly coverage. Last annual for my 6 pound dog cost me nearly $200 despite the insurance plan. Might be better off putting money into a separate savings and just going to a vet once a year. Would probably be cheaper.
