We love it here! Dr. Young is very patient, informative, thorough and reassuring to brand new parents. He offers suggestions but gives parents the freedom to make their own choices. We love that he is so supportive of breastfeeding. He was so gracious to me in explaining why breast milk can be delayed (traumatic labor/c-section) and almost had a sixth sense about how I was feeling about my baby dropping a little weight before I even opened my mouth. He reassured me and shared tips about how to help my milk come in faster. His experience, knowledge and gentleness with our babe are so, so comforting. Dr. Downing is just as wonderful! The staff is also kind and fun - we just love all of them and are grateful we have their support in the new journey of parenthood.

Dr. Downy is the best doctor I could ever wish for the well being of my son. She has been his pediatrician for six years since he was born.She has always been well versed on any ailment and has always really taken the time and care with us, no matter how many people are waiting. She really listens to our concerns and has our sons best interests in mind. She also takes the time time explain everything carefully, so that we do not expect surprises. I highly recommend this entire office for their professionalism and family like atmosphere. We couldnt have asked for anything better to ease our minds!

Ive been coming here for almost 14 years because I like the no rush with Dr. Downing. However over the last years here the receptionist and others had made it hard to enjoy coming here as their demeanor and attitude are well below average for customer service. I just had an incident where I called to make appt. the receptionist got rude wit me and wouldnt allow me to speak so eventually I had to hang up and wait for someone else to call me back. Sadly its time to find another place.

The Doctors here are are very careful and caring in the treatment of my son since his birth six years ago. They always find an appointment when we need one and take great care of him. They have helped us get into see specialist when needed and always followed up. They answer all our questions even when as first time parents they were a bit silly and over cautious. The staff is great and always know who we are since day one. I would highly recommend them and their team.

This place is terrible. It is extremely disorganized they have all the paperwork in open space so everyone can see. Folders, papers, coffee everywhere! I was appaled to see how disorganized a pediatrician was. Then to top it off, we came in at 10:50 for our appt at 11 and 2 other people came in after us and got seen BEFORE us. The Dr also tried to tell us that because we were breestfeeding her we werent doing enough. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR TO ANYONE.

Doctors are knowledgeable and consider your thoughts on YOUR child. You are never rushed and given the time needed to ask all questions! Love Dr Young, hes versed in new techniques but has common sense and he NEVER shames you or makes you feel less than as a new parent! All the staff is great and personable! Totally recommend, been going since my baby boy was born and 4 now. Oh and the wait times are really reasonable and easy to get in on sick visits.

Pediatrics of Kempsville is awesome. We saw Jennifer and she actually Listened to me, took their time and gave my daughter 2 popsicles But ya know what impressed me is that they were actually able to see me the same day I called AND they gave me the H1N1 shot. I got my daughters a long time ago but hadnt found time to do mine. Story of my life. Anyway, I wish i had switched ages ago!!

The Doctors at this office are very professional and courteous. The receptionist on the other hand is as rude as they come. I have been hung up on when calling in to make appointments and she seems to always have an attitude when I interact with her. It has had me considering on switching to another doctors office but my daughter is comfortable around her doctor and trusts her.

The doctors and medical staff are wonderful, caring and knowledgeable. Ive been bringing my daughter here since she was a newborn baby, she loves Jennifer (the nurse practitioner) and Dr. Carol Downing. The front desk lady, Sherry, on the other hand is a miserable and rude woman. After years of dealing with your poor attitude I think its time to find another doctor.

We have used this physicians office for nearly 12 years. We LOVE Dr. Downing. They take time to fit you in for sick visits. The staff is pretty nice. Shots suck, but they do their best to hurry for the little ones and give them a popsicle to take their mind off of it. I would definitely recommend them!

Jennifer O Conners is who I am assuming you are speaking of and she is a fantastic PA, unfortunately she to move over to Renaissance Pediatrics in Hampton, off Raintree rd. just an FYI, I was never really thrilled with the bedside manor of the other doctors there.
