Dr. Salem is an exceptionally caring doctor. He recently donated his time and expertise to give rabies shots to literally thousands of animals at the Frederick County Shelter two months ago. When he is attempting to diagnose animals he looks at the big picture attempting to find the cause and cure the disease rather than just put on a bandaid. Most vets may just hand out antibiotics rather then systematically checking all body systems. With other vets you end up paying for the vet visit and antibiotics and coming back multiple times and the cause of the disease is never uncovered. I have several friends who have taken their dog or cat to three different area vets only to have Dr Salem diagnose the problem in the first visit. One instance required a simple x-ray to find a blockage. The cost of the multiple other vets visits with multiple blood tests, mulitple antibiotics etc was far more then his one visit and tests. Thank you Dr. Salem!

This doctor is grossly negligent, NO one TAKE your cat o dog to this location. He amputated our cats leg in the wrong location and charged us for it. He gave us the wrong medication which would have shut down our cats liver. We had to have a 2nd amputation, and he did not give any pain medication for our cat, on top of it, he told us to apply an alcohol spray directly onto our dear cats open wound. On top of it, he scraped dead skin down to the bone without sedating our cat, our cat was writhing in agony insane from the pain. This is an absolute horror story. On top of this the vet has yelled at our family members who ask any questions. Our cat is now making a full recovery after taking her to a real vet, a good one. BEWARE DO NOT RISK IT

Absolutely phenomenal service. They supposedly close at 8pm. however at 8:45 pm on a Friday I called out of desperation for my cat. He was technically closed but stayed there until I got there. He proceeded to take xrays and blood work of my pet and waited for result which took about an hr. In the end he stay until almost 11 pm with me and only charged me his regular rate and didnt charge for emergency services. Plus he genuinely cared. I honestly can go on and on. I just want to say thank you and from now on I am going there for all of my pets needs; hands down. THANK YOU!!

I knew Silver Spring vet hospital since I was a kid where the doctor there always been taking care of my family pets. It was a weekend night when I called silver spring vet hospital to ask some questions for my dogs behavior I talked to the doctor directly and he answered all my questions clearly and he was very patient with me and that really made me very satisfied and feel he is very knowledgable.

Very dishonest, they fail to take responsibility for their actions. They have an Emergency clinic also, they are not upfront their, and take advantage of people in a very vulnerable state. Beware stay away
