Billing nightmares, testing nightmares . . . So, I come in for an annual exam and general STD testing services. I am greeting and checked in and everything seems to be going fine. A medical assistant takes me back into the room, collects my urine sample, takes my vitals, etc. Again, so far, so good. I am told the doctor will be in shortly. So, I wait. And wait. And wait. 45 minutes later, I peek my head outside the door and ask if someone is coming. The nurses and doctors look around sheepishly and ask my name. I tell them who I am and the nurse says, "We will be right in". But then the other nurse says, "If that is so and so, why am I finishing their chart and putting it away right now then?". Realizing they completely mixed up charts and paperwork, they apologize and say they will be right in. I tell them, "Please, if you mixed up my urine sample, I am happy to give you more because I just want accurate results!". They assure me everything is fine. The actual visit was fine (nothing special, nothing horrid). I check out at the front desk and ask them to make sure and bill me for the total amount so I do not have a bunch of mystery bills coming in the mail. This takes like 15 extra minutes to check the insurance coverage and to check the lab fees, but honestly, I am happy to wait and pay in full today. The visit winds up costing me like $150 out of pocket (plus, the insurance paid even more!). Low and behold, a few weeks later, I get a bill in the mail from their lab saying I owe them $85. But Planned Parenthood informs me they over charged me $85. I try and explain to them that they need to get their billing straight and that I paid in full, but apparently, I have to pay the lab directly and they have no way to transfer the payment to their lab (REALLY!? YOUR OWN LAB!?). Alas, now I am in this confusing mess, trying to get a hold of an actual person over there to figure out how to get my refund and where the heck I am supposed to send the damn check because they cannot sort it out. This place is a mess! Oh, and my test results came back really odd. They cultured the samples and said I was positive for candida (which is normal flora) but everything on the wet mount was normal. In my understanding, you do not culture for things that are normal flora because of course they will be present. The fact that everything on the physical exam and the wet mount was normal should indicate that candida was not a problem. But of course, I cannot even trust their results because they mixed up my file and likely my urine sample and were too shy to admit that. So, I paid a bunch of money, spent all this time and honestly, have ZERO confidence in my test results. I appreciate the work you do overall Planned Parenthood, but you guys need to step it up. You dropped the ball on this one.

Even though I fully support Planned Parenthood, some of these people have put me through a lot and made me feel reeeaaally really guilty for needing birth control. Im not sure if I spoke with someone from the Bellevue location or maybe someone from a help center of some sort, but I called yesterday morning to ask a couple questions. I gave the woman over the phone a very veeery bad, brief version of my situation which was; I missed my depo appointment at the beginning of the month and had unprotected sex at the end of the month. I wrongly assumed I didnt have to go through how this happened and justify my mistakes because I expected the staff at Planned Parenthood to be respectful and understanding. However the woman I spoke with got furious with me. She started yelling at some points, cutting me off while talking, asking condescending and rhetorical questions like "well what do you THINK is gonna happen!?". I was asking for clarifications on how my Depo shot works and she kept barking "I dont know WHERE you got this INFO but you are WRONG!" At the end of the conversation I was in tears and asked "what did you say your name was again?". She paused for a second and then hung up. If I went into details of how I got in this situation, I would have explained to her how it wasnt consentual and how the reason I never got my shot was because the clinic messed up my scheduling and was also rude about it. I didnt want to explain this. But if I did maybe she wouldve treated me like a human being. Planned Parenthood staff, if someone reads this, please contact me. I dont feel comfortable using your services right now. I need it, but I feel attacked for something that wasnt entirely in my control. And even if it was, there is no excuse to belittle your clients for using your services.

Seriously the best experience Ive ever had at a doctors office. Since losing my insurance Ive been afraid to go to a new provider because I have a weird combo of hormone issues which I am navigating at the same time as (non hormonal) gender transition. They were more understanding and professional about my hormone disorders than any of my endocrinologists have ever been (it is the only time I havent been subject to repeated, unsolicited non-medical hair removal suggestions for my hirsutism, ever. What a relief!) and tremendously respectful about my gender status (even asked about pronouns and offered more than "she" and "he")! Knowledgeable and awesome staff too-- Ive had to explain my meds to endocrinologists before but the staff here knew a lot about what I was taking and how it works. They were very supportive, listened to me, offered me tons of resources and I was only left waiting a combined three minutes the entire visit. It was awesome to know they prioritize my wellbeing and consider respecting my identity as part of that big picture. Plus its a seriously advanced office even compared to my expensive old PCP. Even if I get great insurance again Im coming back here for my care every time.

Very professional setting, just like going to a very nice doctors office. The staff were super. They were professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. I felt genuinely looked after, all my questions were answered, I really cant say enough good things about the quality of care I received. They actually put some regular doctors offices to shame with how advanced they are technology wise and the general atmosphere.

The first time we came I had an appointment but still waited 2 hours to see the healthcare provider. The second time I called three months out to make an appointment and was told I didnt need one when in fact I did. So the second visit involved a long wait as well. There were apologies offered, but if the customer service and wait time remain ridiculous the apology has no meaning. Wont be back.

provided me healthcare when I got scary symptoms and had no healthcare plan. now on healthcare I use them for contraception, which my husband of almost 10 years is very appreciative of. They really cared about me and were spot on in their diagnosis. they did a great job with the shots when I was on them, and then later with the IUD.
