I had never been to this office until I found an abscess on my kitty and called my usual vets office to find out that no doctor would be in for a week, so I called around because my kitty was obviously quite sick. Wanting to stay in Burien my next call was Burien Veterinary Hospital. They made an appointment the same day, knew immediately that they had to do surgery, the surgery was also the same day and they allowed me to make a reasonable payment arrangement. I was even able to pick up my baby that evening and bring her home with very clear instructions on how to care for her. The doctor explained in great detail (with drawings on a paper towel) exactly what the surgery was, what they found, what they did and even how they stitched her up. The follow up care has been phenomenal as well. Every single person that I have spoken to there (doctors, vet techs, office staff in general) has been very knowledgeable, caring and gentle. I truly feel that they have the best interest of the animals in mind. I am transferring the medical records for both of my cats here, this is their new doctor. I want to hug each and every one of them for taking such good care of my baby and being so understating and patient with me, who on the day of the surgery was a little bit of an emotional, nervous wreck.

We became acquainted with this office after adopting a kitten from Burien CARES which included a free checkup for him at BVH. We were treated wonderfully when we made an unscheduled visit with our old friend Jake. The staff were friendly and set us up in a room to wait for the doctor to see us. Jake was well-advanced in years (we never really knew how old he was, but at least 13) and was not doing well despite our efforts to nurse him back to health after a sudden downturn in his condition. We knew the probable outcome of the visit would be having him put down, which is what happened. Having been through this several times before, I can only praise all the staff for their compassion for us and Jake at that difficult time. Even nicer was the hand-written condolences card from the doctor we received in the mail. The fees were what I was expecting for the services: reasonable. No unneeded services suggested or advised. Friendly, accommodating staff. Segregated entries for canine and feline patients. We have a new vet for our feline and canine companions.

If I could give a zero I would. Our sweet kitty was really social and loved people until we took her here to get her shots updated. We think they mishandled her because she was sore in the ribs and we couldnt pick her up for about 3 weeks. She was mean to us and everyone that came in our house. She would hiss and scratch if you got close to her. She has been like that with strangers ever since (and still has mixed attitudes with us), but recently she has started to come out of it. I would NEVER recommend Burien Veterinarian Hospital. They were recommended to us, but they wouldnt let us go in the exam room with her and the shots took forever, so we knew something was wrong. We think she freaked out, because we werent there with her, and were very rough with her. We could tell the vet assistant was really mad when she brought her back out us and our kitty has never been the same since. It makes me so sad and very very mad to think she might have been mistreated back there, but we have no way to prove it.

cost almost twice to do the neutering service at burien animal hospital than say, the city pound. Shots and other things seem to cost a bit more here as well. Well worth it, i have a very large dog and the last thing i need is him throwing a tantrum over not wanting to visit a vet. Vet offices tend to echo, tile/hard floors, all it takes is a few other dogs whining with a stressed out receptionist/doctor to make the dog want to peel out and go home. Its like taking a kid to the doctor. Id rather have someone do the extra work to make the experience something positive/memorable. They give him toys, pet him, squeeze his face and tell him how adorable he is, nothing but tail wags and excitement out of the dog. Whos a good dog? yes you are! nobody likes getting shots or waiting in a doctor office, but the dog will never remember the doctor part.. too much fun going on to associate the visit as something to avoid.

A month and a half ago, I went to the vet as My dog, Ripley, was not doing well. I paid over 200 dollars for the visit with no real outcome of a diagnosis expect a 1500 dollar proposal bill to pay. She sounded like a salesman wanting to sell a used car. She was probably so busy to get us pay 1500 dollars that she failed to notice that our dog is indeed dying due to her heart condition. Her heart 4Xed in the past years and was about to stop working. As I am not a vet, I did not find out that she is indeed dying until 2 days ago when she passed away due to suffocation. Her heart gave up working, her lungs filled up with fluids with no possibility of recovering from her condition. Horrible.... I will never go back again and suggest you find another vet.

Dr. Sibylle Duesberg Kamdar is by far the best vet I have ever had. When I was desperate for help for my doxie who had been diagnosed with end-stage liver disease, five other vets had already told me nothing could be done and that she had 2 months to live. Dr. Duesberg, as she was then, was the only one willing to try. By doing research, finding good specialists, pleading with hospitals for hard-to-find human drugs, she gave Maggie 3 1/2 years more good life. She let me call her at all hours, even when she was on vacation, even when she was on her honeymoon (fortunately I didnt need to.) She will always give your pet dedicated care and the best possible chance of recovery, even in "hopeless" cases.

My dog has a skin condition that she has had since I rescued her. This condition is unique and will be with her for life. She needs "X" medication every six months. B.V.C. refuses to allow me to pay for this over priced medication and insists that I get my dog looked at first, even though the outcome is predictable. Let me be clear, I am totally willing to pay for the $ 100 medication so my dog can get better, but I do not need a "Checkup" for additional money which is not necessary. I can totally understand if it was Vicodin or something like that but for a skin condition? I know that your reply will be that you are only looking out for my dog but do you really think that I am not?

Rip offs! Money hungry. Want you to take unnecessary tests. Had an intern and her assistant look at my cats eye. It appeared to be a scratch but they insisted that it was a flea bite. I informed them that none of my INDOOR cats have ever had a flea and not likley that the scratch was from a flea. It was most likely from them play fighting. The assistant went and got a flea comb to prove me wrong. Of course they were wrong. I was given a saline solution and charged $145.00 for 2 useless people to tell me nothing. Snarky front of house staff. Run from this place!!!
