After weeks of deliberation, I made the tough choice to euthanize my family dog. Shes almost 13 years old, deaf, has increasing trouble breathing, and her appetite is beginning to diminish. I made the silly assumption that I was a good judge of when my dog was in pain and experiencing a lower quality of life. When I took her in, I explained all of this to the vet and that I wanted to put my dog down while she still had some dignity and not wait for her to totally fall apart. The vet proceeded to lecture me about how dirty her teeth and inside of her ears were and that we should try treating her symptoms ($$$). She used terms like "convenience euthanasia" and worried aloud if the dog would be cared for when she came home with me. I have never felt so judged and looked down upon. She applied her personal standards to my situation with no compassion or sympathy. Heartless and awful experience.

Took my newly rescued (from a box on the side of the road!) cat there to get her fixed. Making the initial appointment was easy, the person on the phone was kind and helpful. The second call to confirm the details, the lady was rude. She insisted I had to pay nearly double the price due to the fact that my cat appeared over 1 year old and therefore her uterus was "older", I agreed because it came with a free exam and she needed to be fixed. After taking her in I received the bill with the exam price tacked on as well, and when I called I was told she had worms, so the cost of the exam was no longer free. Now a year later, my poor cat has gone back into heat because all of the tissue was not removed during the original procedure. I will be taking her somewhere else for her second operation since I no longer feel I can trust this place to do the job.

This is the best animal clinic that Ive ever been to and Ive been to many in the last 40 + years. Dr. Howard is the most knowledgeable Doctor Ive ever experienced. His personality is quite different and I understand why some of you perceive him differently. Hes not a people person but the no nonsense dedication to the needs of our pets is more than we could ever hope for. Hes 100% focused on his profession and knowledge. Dr. Taylor who is also on staff is superb. Shes very knowledgable and kind. She loves our furry kids. She gets down on the floor with them. We love the front desk manager Nancy. Shes been in the business for many years. Aside of running the place, she has a tremendous knowledge of animals. As for all of the technicians, Ive not yet met one that I dont like. They are knowledgeable and our doggie and Kittys love everyone there.

As much as i love the vet techs at north bend clinic I will never set foot in this clinic again. I brought my cat in awhile ago because she had a rash. It turned into a conversation about how all my pets must have heartworm because they go outside. Insisted I purchase the meds for all my pets that day. Diagnose and prescribing meds to pets with out even bringing them in. Thats new. Also said she needs extensive dental work which they of course cant give me a price for. I had to suggest putting a e-collar on my cat for a few days and I had to be the one to remind them when I left to give it to me. Its all about money. Totally ignored my reasons for being there. It was as if they were trying to figure out a way to get as much money out of me as possible. FIND A VET THAT CARES ABOUT PETS AND PEOPLE!!

I too had a terrible experience less than a year ago. Our 15 year old cat was on his death bed. We brought him in to make the agonizing decision to euthanize him as the right thing to do for him. He was once a 22 lb cat and down to 7 lbs. I was lectured by the Dr. that We could do multiple testing, our car had extreme kidney failure, blood from mouth and could no longer move. He made me feel terrible for wanting to have our cat not be in pain anymore. I was hysterical about the situation and it was a heart wrenching decision. He had zero compassion and made me feel terrible. It was the worst experience you could ask for in such a hard time for our family. If you want a Vet that just wants to get money out of you and no empathy, then this is your Vet.

I have to start off by saying that all the staff (all the women) that work there, is amazing, each one of the nurses that I talked to were very helpful and kind, so this review had nothing to do with them because theyre all terrific and very professional. The doctor (man) however, is a piece. He seems to be in a rush, so much so, that he doesnt have time for the patient right in front of him. Hes extremely rude in my opinion to both the patients and his staff, he told one of the nurses to leave the room when she was trying to be helpful in a very unprofessional manner. I left there dazed and confused by his unprofessionalism, feeling like he didnt truely address what was wrong with my dog. That was my first and very last visit.

We started out by taking my parents dogs there on an emergency visit, they got us right in. The doctor (man) was able to diagnose the dog without any blood tests; though we did have one done just to make sure that was all that was going on. We now have a new puppy that we adopted from the Humane Society and he immediately noticed that she had mange and kennel cough. We opted for the skin scraping which determined his findings. He is very knowlegable; which is more than most Doctors can claim. He does have a slightly abrupt personality; though his knowlege makes up for it. The entire staff has been incredible with every situation we have come to the with. Finding a good vet in such a small town is a rare find.

Will never go back there again! I have a 13 year old maltipoo who has developed severe itching issues. In the past, Dr. Howard gave him steriods which worked great. However at our last visit, I was told that he needed to have his teeth cleaned and was informed by the office person that I could get the medication for the itching if I had his teeth cleaned. Stay away from here, it is all about the money, no payment plans are ever offered or discussed. I have since found a vet who is understanding of my needs and truly loves animals, something I think Dr, Howard has forgotten.

First off let me say that i have never stepped foot into this place. I have no idea how good the doctor or doctors are. What I do know is I just moved to town. I love my normal vet office however they are now 1 hour drive. Reluctantly I called to get an appointment not wanting to take time off work to spend 2 hours round trip plus probably another hour at my normal vet. I called them to make an appointment and they told me it would be 3 days before they could see me. Sorry cant leave my dog limping for 3 days.
