The entire team at Pickens Family Dentistry makes me feel relaxed and welcome, and the dental services are top notch. I have been a client for over 10 years (first with Dr. Stryker, now with Dr. Pickens) and I have never appreciated a dental clinic so much! My cleanings and repair work have been painless, procedures are explained clearly, and Ive never been scolded when my brushing/flossing habits need improvement. I know everyones name and they all treat me like a friend. New technology is adopted all the time. When I had a root canal a few months ago Dr. Pickens used a scanner to make a digital model of my mouth, avoiding a tedious and weird tasting dental impression. Dr. Pickens said the scan is actually more accurate than traditional impressions. My crown fits perfectly and looks absolutely natural. The doctor and crew are great with young children -- cheerful and patient, talking through what theyre doing and helping kids learn proper brushing and flossing technique. My daughters have never had a negative experience and actually look forward to their dental visits. (They get to wear sunglasses! And take home toothbrushes and mini tubes of toothpaste! And pick a prize from the treasure box!) Need help relaxing? The clinic has personal radios or video tablets available, and even warm lavender face towels. The building is designed much like a house, well appointed and scrupulously clean. The front room is comfortable and theres a cozy childrens area with books and toys; I appreciate that theres a safe space for my kids to hang out so they dont have to crowd into the exam room with me. I have only good things to say about Dr. Pickens and the talented dental and office staff at Pickens Family Dentistry.

Ive been patient :)) with that gang for a long time, to my inevitable delight. Lauren the receptionist has a smile just too big not to share, which she does with charming enthusiasm. And my usual hygienist, Rona, is thoroughly skilled, patient, and caring - which I appreciate. Dr Pickens is a somewhat new face to me, but I have been favorably impressed and expect to enjoy a long-in-the- tooth relationship, so to speak, with him. He is an excellent, skilled, calming, and caring dentist with an all round All Star team. Definitely recommend them. As an added bonus they are mercury free (thats is no silver fillings, which are actually more mercury than silver - but that wouldnt sound too good to most so they go by silver or amalgam). So for me Mercury Free is a WOO-HOO! almost as big as Lauren and the whole gangs smiles! This is a dental outfit I actually enjoy going to to see. Finally, they are very good at helping finding ways to stretch out payments somewhat with various options, and work respectfully to accommodate your budget while still preserving and promoting your good dental health. Five thumbs Up! so to speak.

I just had a great experience at Pickens Family Dentristy. A large filling had come out and they got me in promptly and took care of the issue. This was the first work that Dr. Pickens had done on my teeth and I was pleased with his work. The novacain was put in very gently and painlessly and just deadened the area needed and was gone within a half hour after leaving the office. Since I do not have dental insurance, they went over the options of treatment and cost before doing the work. Thankfully, I ended up only needing some cavity removal and a filling and not a crown. Dr. Pickens has a gentle touch and a skillful technique. There was a discount for a cash payment and I left with the problem fixed for a reasonable price. I recommend this dentist.

Pickens Family Dentistry used to be Stryker Family Dentistry and I have been a patient with them for almost 20 years. Dr. Stryker was amazing and he has chosen a great dentist to hand the reins to with Dr. Pickens. I recommend them to anyone who will ask. The staff here is amazing and the friendliest people you will meet. Theres no pressure to do additional services but they definitely know their stuff and recommend the best for your dental health. I have had fillings with them and they always do a great job, and if something doesnt feel right, they make sure youre taken care of. My dad is also a retired dentist and this is where he goes too! Cant recommend highly enough!

Thanks to my Hygienist Jamie I finally found a dental family. I felt so welcome the minute I walked in. The staff really listen to my concerns and addressed them. Lauren made it easy to get in for appointments around my needs and explained my benefits Dr.Pickens and Susan made my first filling fast and painless. It was amazing to see the photos they took of my mouth in 3D and understand how my future treatments will progress. I have never seen such a thorough picture of my teeth. Thank you for taking such good care of me!

For my sons hygiene appointment, the hygienist and Dr Pickens were very thorough and offered helpful suggestions and techniques for my sons dental health. They cleaned his removable retainer in an ultrasonic bath and it looked like new. The cameras and display monitors provide the smallest details so we can take care of minor issues before they become painful emergencies. The entire team is always friendly, caring, and professional.

As a dental hygienist, I look for many things in a dental office. Lauren and Shannon are so friendly and professional when you walk in the door. The hygienists are highly skilled and informative. If you are looking for a dentist that knows what they are doing and is also honest and ethical, and really cares about their patients... stop your search here. What a night and day difference from the prior dentist I saw. Dr. Pickens and his staff are always kind, courteous, and professional... not to mention honest, accommodating & fantastic!!!
