I hate to write a review like this, and want to say first that everyone there has always provided fantastic care for my cat. However, they may be ill-prepared to care for bunnys, and consider getting a second opinion before allowing them to operate on your bunny. In short, we brought our 5 year old rabbit in because she had developed a small lump in her chest. She was unspayed, and they said she had cancer and needed immediate surgery to remove the lump and her uterus, which they believed was cancerous. Their pre-op and post-op care for the bunny was entirely inappropriate (for example, I brought the bunny in at 9am, yet they held her there all day until 4:30pm for surgery, causing unneeded stress to the animal), and our bunny passed away within an hour of getting home. By the time we got her home, they had closed, and we had to rush her to an emergency vet who could not save her. It was all incredibly traumatic, and ultimately unnecessary--the bunnys posthumous labwork revealed she did not even have cancer. One of the biggest mistakes of my life--allowing them to misdiagnose and unnecessarily operate on our bunny. Take a conservative approach with their recommendations, or simply take your bunny to the Animal Medical Center or a specialist instead. Even though they are a very kind office, owners should be aware of a situation like this and take it into consideration.

Being a new pet owner, I dont have the experience to compare PHAH to other vets. Having read mixed reviews of vets that are more in my immediate hood, I took a chance on the relatively new PHAH with its few, but positive, reviews on Yelp. Im glad I did. Dr. Isaacson is the model of professional, friendly and conscientious. While I cant speak to how her prices compare, she advised me to get my dog microchipped via the ASPCA rather than through her because it would be cheaper, and recommended sending bloodwork out-of-house to also save money, even though she could have done it herself at a higher price. I take this as evidence that she doesnt put profits before customer/patient care. Dr. Isaacson went out of her way to follow up with me after my dogs dental procedure. She made herself accessible via email in the evening and personally called me that night and the next morning to check in. I really appreciate that level of followup. Again, I dont have much basis for comparison, but the facilities seem thoroughly modern and spotlessly clean. Olivia the receptionist made scheduling and communication a breeze. I look forward to lasting professional relationship with PHAH.

I have had a lot of animals throughout my life and so a few different Vets. This group is top notch. Not only as Vets but the whole staff is so kind and nurturing. We had to put my daughters cat down this weekend. She has been with my daughter for most of her life (my daughters). I brought the cat in without my daughter and when given the news, I asked them if they could hold Tiger for a few hours till my daughter got off work. When I came back with my daughter the doctor recounted all the same things to her as she already had to me. She answered all of my daughters questions, never making us feel rushed. Then they gave us a room to be alone with Tiger for as long as we needed. When I checked out, they only charged me for the euthanasia and the cremation. They did not charge me for the time they spent examining Tiger or for all the time the Doctor spent talking to us (at least an hour). I thought that quite a gesture. It certainly wasnt their fault our cat had to be put to sleep. I cannot say enough about this place. To be sure we will be using them for all of our pet needs in the future.

Dr Kurowski has restored my faith in NY vets. After being ripped off and treated roughly at VERG and Brooklyn Cares, what a pleasure to deal with a Vet who knows her job but also loves her patients and is professional. Having moved from the west coast, where the Vets were great and reasonably priced, I was shocked at how the Vets are more like a business in NY than people who care about animals. Prospect Heights Animal Hospital is different - from the moment I made the appt, I felt comfortable. Arthur at the front desk is very professional and thorough and Dr Kurowski worked with my large German Shepherd who was very nervous because of his injured back leg. She kept reassuring him that it was going to be ok and I knew my "baby" was in good hands. Vets can be expensive, but it is nice to know that Dr Kurowski and Prospect Heights are reasonable and are not overcharging or doing things that are not really necessary. I highly recommend this hospital and Dr Kurowski. Thanks to her thoroughness, my German Shepherd is now on the mend.

Dr Isaacson is a great specialist and handled my feisty cat really well! She was really upfront with me and told me the risks of certain procedures for my cat. She didnt push for any sort of tests or exams which made me feel really comfortable and trust her opinion. She told me thats its good to do so since my kitty is old, but we dont have to. You know how some vets will tell you that you have to buy all these prescriptions that you dont really need - not her. This was my first time seeing Dr Isaacson, but i got a really good impression and I would deffinetly bring my cat back to her. Reception was very nice and sympathetic to my kitty too. They are also very customer service oriented and they were able to handle some issues with me in a very professional manner. My cat isnt easy and Dr Isaacson showed a lot of experience and professionalism dealing with her which I highly appreciate! I would definitely recommend this animal hospital and Dr Isaacson is particular.

Ive just transferred care of my dogs to PHAH and Dr. Isaacson, and I am delighted so far. First, the front desk is warm, welcoming, and wonderfully personable, which is a marked change from our old vet, who had no idea who I was even though Id been going there for five years. So the tone of the front office, and more importantly the compassionate and engaged quality of care provided by Dr. Isaacson make me feel like shes a real family veterinarian, and I know my dogs will get the consistency of care throughout their lifetime that they deserve. Dr. Isaacson is thoughtful, caring, and extremely good at balancing top-notch veterinary medicine with what makes sense for the patients well being. No frivolous, fruitless testing to bulk up the bill here, as I found at my old vet. Just smarts, a genuine love of animals coupled with concern for their owners, and common sense. I couldnt be happier, and only wish Id come here years ago.
