Save your life and sanity and DO NOT GO to this place. Last July, these lying, cheating "medical professionals" nearly killed me. I came in to the ER early in the am (big mistake) short of breath and coughing with back pain. The doctor totally misdiagnosed, determined I had a pulmonary embolism (PE) and had had a seizure, despite my husbands protests to the contrary. My oxygenation was almost 100 percent (PE with 100 oxygen?), but they managed to knock that down within two hours to 66 percent. Into a drug-induced coma in the ICU I went for four days, and they had no clue what happened. My husband had to threaten to sue to get information. They created 908 pages of medical records to try to find a reason for their ineptitude and cost Blue Cross more than $100K. My case was so botched that there was not even a discharge summary done. Turns out my bp was high and the pain was gastrointestinal. I am still haunted by this disaster, so haunted that my husband and I recently sold our house in Cape Canaveral to make sure we never wind up in this place again. Stephanie Bialick Agtmaal Barnard College/Columbia University 1974 Postscript, September 22, 2016: To this day, I am still haunted by the nightmare at Cape Canaveral Hospital, but yesterday a very competent sports medicine doctor FAR FROM CAPE CANAVERAL HOSPITAL diagnosed my back pain as rib and muscle damage done by my incessant coughing at that time. My coughing is due to allergies, which are also being treated by another doctor FAR FROM THERE.

The ER staff was adaquate. I explained my situation to him and he actually listened and did the special blood work needed to confirm along with a multitude of others. I was dxd and given meds and sent home with the promise of a call regarding the results of the special blood work done. 5 days later having not received a call and feeling worse I returned to the ER. I again explained my situation and told the ER Dr of the special blood work done, but hadnt heard anything. He told me if its negative they dont call. He checked my records and found that the test was positive and couldnt explain why I wasnt called. I was admitted immediately. Once on the floor the majority of staff were helpful and rapid in responding to my needs when required. They were also good with not forcing me to do treatments I refused. Sadly, when I was sent home the Dr didnt supply me with the proper meds and the infection never completely cleared up and 6 weeks later I am back. The ER was ok this time, but the PA that saw me looked at my previous records and told me the opposite of what the infectious disease DR told me during my previous stay. Now I am left concerned with the accuracies of what I am told and what is charted. I am again admitted for a minimum of 3 days due to tests. Not happy about it, but the staff again has been great thus far. Several recall me from my last visit.

Ill give the hospital a 3 because the ER "staff" was terrible. My brother in law and I brought my wife in with chest pain and she was having a hard time breathing. My brother in law ran into the ER to get help, and he came out pushing a wheel chair. We wheeled my wife in and told the kid be hind the counter she was having severe chest pains. About 10 minutes later the EMT sauntered out and finally took her back to the ER. That being said, once she was admitted and on the second floor, the staff was very professional and courteous and treated my wife like gold. To the ER staff, take a jaunt up to St. Vincents Orange Park, Fl. and use them as the standard to emulate. I went in with chest pains, and was in a wheel chair rushed to the ER put on a gurney and hooked up to the EKG in less than 5 minutes.

4 years ago Monday my son went to Cape Canaveral hospital for asthma i sat in the emergency room while they were working on him for 1 hour then they called me back just to see him lay there with nothing on his face land flat on a stretcher with no machine on in they were very mean to him and rode to him never said he was dying they said that he had a blood clot that ran from his leg to his lung thats why I was breathing like that they told us to step out they stuck at the last minute before he died they stuck a tube down his throat and suffocated him I have nothing to say about that hospital I try to sue them but they covered it all up

I was treated for a pretty bad cat bite. The ER staff was AMAZING. From the security guard at the entrance, right down to the gentleman emptying the trash cans. I had read some of the reviews prior to going, and was not expecting to be impressed. I was taken back within 15 minutes, and greeted by the PA within five. She was attentive and knowledgeable. She had ordered an x ray for me, and upon realizing it was taking a bit, I heard her mention to a nurse to check and see what the hold up was. Considering it was unpleasant to have to be in the ER, everyone I encountered was friendly, and helpful. Thanks for the great care.

I was admitted recently to Cape Canaveral Hospital for chest pains. I was having a heart attack. I had 2 stents put in to help with the problem. Throughout my stay, which was 5 days, I found everyone at the hospital to be caring, thoughtful and professionals at what they do. Even the person who cleaned my room was great. Everyone seemed to have a great personality and enjoyed helping others. I even loved getting my ice cream every afternoon and the hospital food was amazing. I would not hesitate to go back here if needed. Thank you, all off you helped to keep my life going!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive been sitting here since 10:30pm. I have yet to be seen. Its not that busy, there were 5 people in front of me, it is now 3:30am with a steady bpr at 168/120 due to personal reasons I wont elaborate the extensive reason why I am here but it has to do with female reproductive organs. This is insane. I have never had to wait this long in my entire life. I understand medical emergencies, that the 911 calls come in as well. But due to the reason in which I am here, a wait could damage me further. Im very concerned for the health care that I am receiving especially since its paid.

My father was very sick and admitted here. Although not perfect, the majority of the staff is knowledgeable and he received good care. A Hospitalist (Dr. Vargas) was exceptional and this hospital is fortunate to have him. He was very compassionate towards my family in what was a very difficult time for us. The Hospice staff here was also top notch and were genuine and sincere in their approach. There are more technologically advanced facilities in the area but I felt like there were real people here who care a great deal about their patients and that is priceless.

If I could give zero stars I would- my husband went in with severe abdomen pain, and an obviously swollen belly. The triage nurse tried to have him give a urine sample in a water pitcher right there in the triage area. They did a CT scan and it showed nothing so they gave up and sent a very sick person home with no regard to what might be wrong. I call to complain and the charge nurse was nothing but rude, telling me the call was being recorded- That explained it, she was covering her ass and the hospitals ass. Dont waste your time or money with these idiots
