My 13year old lab had been licking his paw for weeks until it opened up and was raw. I tried to prevent him from licking it every way I could by using the cone, sprays, and wrapping his paw. Yet he just kept licking and weeks turned into days. It was an opened wound and every time I would take him for walks, dirt would cake up in it so much that even when I cleaned it, it wouldnt come out. So I went to Heights Animal hospital in Jackson heights and 35th ave and Dr Alvarez took a look at it and said it was foot cancer. That I could either amputate his foot or put him down since he was an old dog. After going for a second opinion at AHC it turned out to be a bacterial fungus and was healed after i was prescribed antibiotics and cream. My dog is completely healed and still lives a healthy life. I recently called Heights animal hospital to inform them of their misdiagnosis and the receptionist simply responded "oh ok". No empathy or remorse at all, which shows lack of customer service. So bottom line, they want your money and will risk your pets life for it and on top of that they have poor customer service.

My dog was diagnosed with Diabetes. I went to this animal hospital and saw Dr. Alvarez to get information about my dogs treatment. However, prior to visiting Ive researched about the different insulin types, glucometers, diet, etc. I had all my questions ready for the doctor however to my shocked, the doctor was not helpful at all (he was a JERK). He took my dogs blood and test his sugar without explaining it to me and got the insulin out to give him a shot without explaining the type of insulin. He did not explain to me anything at all. Luckily, Ive done my research so I asked him about the shots, and to teach me how to do it and test his sugar levels. He did not want to show me how to give the dog shots or check his sugar. I am a diabetic myself so this infuriated me because part of treating diabetes is a very controlled routine with the medication, diet and exercise, things he failed to mention. PLEASE do not GO THERE. if you CARE about your pet do not have Dr Alvarez treat your pet. He does not care to explain or have empathy, he just does not care about your pet.

Friendly, personal service. They are very budget conscious. Been taking my dog here since she came home from the shelter, and when she needed a growth removed from her face they were very professional & reassuring. Theyve never discriminated against her because of her breed which has been a problem for us other places.

My mother took her dog to Dr Alvarez because she kept licking her behind. After a very uncomfortable anal exam, he said she had a hernia. My mother went to get a second opinion and nothing - NO HERNIA. She then went to another vet and same thing - NO HERNIA. Dont go to Dr Alverez.
