I have been a patient at Calm Dental since 2014 and have experienced issues with their billing department. I would go into their office and be told when it was time to use my flexible spending card that I owed inconsistent amounts. When I inquired no one seemed to have answers. After three visits I called my insurance company in their office to get to the bottom of the issues. I was told by Delta Dental of New Jersey that the new doctor in the office was not In Network until May of 2015. So, I was billed out-of-network fees. I told the office assistant and she retrieved several faxed documents. She said they were faxed asking for the dentist to be in network but she had no confirmation. So, she called the person at Delta who she had faxed and they explained it was a ninety day process for certification. She said she would send my bill off for correction for overcharge. Today I was told there was no bill. Then I was told I have a bill. When I explained, yet again, what happened I was told it was irrelevant. That they refused to have a conversation on that topic. I left the office and contacted my insurance company. The hygienists are wonderful. But, the billing department currently the "doctors wife" does not take accountability for the mistakes that have been made and even she read me different amounts. They have had several people in the front desk position and each time you go in you are told different amounts for payment. I Was having a crown put on. It is a two part procedure and I refused the second half. I encourage you to review your bill if you are a patient and contact your insurance company if you see false charges. The doctors are not an issue, but the billing mishaps make you want to pass this office.

The dental assistant was wonderful and even joked some. The insurance biller or what ever title she has is very rude does a lousy job making several mistakes and does not listen to what the patient wants, needs or ideas. Since changing staff about 1 1/2 years ago the office is falling apart. Very rude on the phone. Guess we will pay what we think we owe and then wait for insurance to pay their share to see if there is a balance. Hope the office improves to the wonderful service we had at the beginning when the office first opened up.

I love Dr. Popelka and his entire staff. I am seen in the Geneseo Office. I needed a lot of work done and over the past few years Dr. Popelka has fixed me right up and never ever hurt me. He is a genius when it comes to administering Novacaine. I literally never even felt the needle. My daughter HATES the dentist but she loves this office. I really cant say enough good things about Dr. Popelka and his staff.
