If I could give them 0 stars I would. The oral surgeon is awful. Let me begin by stating I have anxiety, and some dental anxiety. My first visit consisted of x-rays. All fine and good. The dentist told me I needed to have the wisdom tooth out behind the molar to be removed because it was in the way. During this she told me I would be sedated. I started having an anxiety attack. When she learned that I had anxiety over this, she said I didnt have to be sedated. I left feeling confident that I would have the tooth out a week later and it would all be fine. I went in to have the tooth out. They have this *on record* that I have anxiety. Yet, I get into the oral surgery room and the oral surgeon explains that because my roots are long its possible but unlikely Ill have lasting nerve damage especially if the wisdom tooth removed, but I can opt to have only the molar removed. I decide to only have the one tooth out. THEN he tells me Ill be sedated, and as should have been expected, I start to have an anxiety attack. He gets very offended by this and no matter how many times me or my husband said I didnt want to be sedated, that the sedation was the problem and Id had a bad experience in the past he insists on sedation, until he finally says that hes not sure he should do the extraction. My husband again (because at this point Im freaking out so much that I cant speak) says that its the sedation thats freaking me out, and the oral surgeon has the guts to tell him "No. Its not. Its the whole situation." and that if he doesnt sedate me Ill start freaking out during the procedure. As if he knows me? He didnt ask me, even. So finally, at some juncture at which Im not totally positive, he finally says that he wont force me to be sedated, but then almost immediately says that hes not sure if he should do the procedure because it will be very bad if he cant finish it. This goes on for awhile, until he asks me (oh novel idea, lets be reasonable and ask the patient instead of being a threatening bully) if I will let him finish the extraction and I wont freak out in the middle. I assure him that I wont and that I had a root canal and fillings done and while dentistry does make me anxious, I simply put in my earbuds, listen to music, and I always get through the procedures. I have to assure him of this several times for him to believe me. We get set up to do it, and they ask my husband to leave. This is the last straw. Ive been pushed around, threatened, and bullied since I got there, and now they want him to leave. He is part of the reason I get through procedures, and has once prevented a very dangerous situation from occurring when I had been given far too much nitrous. Hes the reason I can walk into a dental office at all. We ask why and the oral surgeon says in essence "because". Fantastic. He refuses any reason. At this point Im again in tears. I simply realize I cant deal with this unfeeling, unreasonable, bullying oral surgeon so I leave the room and go to leave the office. I make it to the reception and they ask me to come into the consultation office. I do. She asks what happened, etc, and I tell her the basic problem. She explains that my husband isnt allowed in the room. (No kidding, I was just told that flat out.) I ask her why. She says "The room is too small." I challenge that claim and she goes on to say "It has to be a sterile environment". I tell her "Hes as sterile as anyone else in that room", and then she says "But he doesnt work here." So? I can consent to have my nerves potentially permanently damaged but I cant consent to having my HUSBAND in the room with me to help give me moral support and get through the procedure in a SAFE fashion? Wow. Im appalled at the unfeeling, bullying nature of this place and its employees. I will return to better dentists, regardless of whether or not they are covered under our new insurance. Thank you, Aspen Dental, for the horrible experience, and for contributing to my dental anxiety which was just starting to subside.

Yesterday was my first visit at Aspen Dental in Kingston. I was very impressed with the kindness of ALL of the staff who took care of me there. They were very organized and sincerely interested in my comfort. Interestingly, after the X-rays and exam, I had a consultation with a woman who explained all of my options and the costs I could anticipate with each of them. Ive never experienced that before and I thought it was a very professional and helpful communication. The only negative I can report is that I was to arrive at 2:15 for a 2:30 appointment to give time to fill out paperwork. I was taken right in at 2:30, but didnt leave the office until 5:10 pm. They were VERY thorough, but the waiting between X-rays and first visit by dentist was at least a half hour. I then waited quite awhile again for the dental hygienist to examine me and discuss procedures. After her exam, I waited awhile, again, for the Dentist to review the X-rays and meet with me for discussion. When I got to the final consultation regarding treatment and payment options with yet another person, she asked about my experience and I told her everyone was great and thorough, but that is been there for nearly 3 hrs. She was surprised and noted it, and I do believe she Will do something about it for future appointments. Other than the lengthy appointment, I was truly impressed with everyone and everything at Aspen Dental and highly recommend them

I originally went to Aspen after a work related injury to previously damaged teeth. The estimated cost of potential repairs led me to opt for extractions and upper dentures. I THOUGHT I had made myself perfectly clear that I required the denture to match my original teeth as closely as possible. Should have realized something was wrong when they proceeded with the extractions without allowing me to view the immediate denture. The horrified look on my friends face said it all. Chiclets that in no way resembled the size/shape of my original teeth and fit like they were made for someone else. Ten pounds down in two weeks, a mouthful of adhesive that had to be dissected back out, and a letter from my doctor later, they FINALLY took me somewhat seriously as to the poor fit/appearance. Second set of temporaries is functional (eating) but the teeth themselves remain the incorrect size with a gumline extending nearly to the bottom of front teeth. Speech remains impaired and embarrassing.Three months later - have no confidence that the issues will be resolved. Sought a second opinion from an independent denture lab and have decided not to allow Aspen to manufacture the permanent upper plate. Now awaiting refund for the service(s) not rendered. Far from an experience to smile about !

I cant say without a doubt that this place tries to SCAM customers! on my first (and only) appointment I had introductory x-rays taken before i was supposed to get a cleaning. I had no complaints or dental issues prior to this visit, but I was told that I had 3 cavities and likely required a ROOT CANAL! I had a chance to look at the images of the xrays taken and there were no cavities (sorry scammers, you probably didnt know I read radiology films every day at my job.) The people at the front desk wasted no time in trying to make me schedule the procedures as soon as possible, and tried to shove a quote of almost $1000 after insurance. The bill even included a $30 "cleaning package" which I asked about and was told that it is basically a little baggie with toothpaste, dental floss, and mouthwash to take home. What a joke!? I ofcourse went to another dentist who took their own Xrays and, no surprise, found NOTHING wrong!! The people at aspen were indeed kind, especially the woman who took the xrays, but thats just to cover up the fact that they are scamming insurance companies, and patients out of money and worst of all, subjecting people to needless procedures which involve pain, and have risks, and side effects. These people should be arrested.
