Not having gone to the dentist in a long time, I was kind of anxious and scared to go back to one to assess the status of my teeth and overall oral hygiene after years of just brushing my teeth and not going for checkups. Im so glad I found Dr. Po. Dr. Pos friendly and knowledgeable demeanor quickly put me at ease once I was sitting in the chair. I usually have no idea what dentists mean when they start talking about teeth and diseases using medical jargon, but Dr. Po takes his time to explain, in detail using simple terminology so you can understand, what exactly is going on in your mouth and his plan to correct or fix anything in it. My appointment with Dr. Po was actually scheduled as a general check-up, because I really did not know if anything was wrong with my teeth or not. I would have some pain one day, then it would go away the next. Within 30 minutes of sitting in the chair, I was assessed by Dr. Po, had X-rays taken of all my teeth, and had Dr. Po showing me on the flat screen he had in the room the x-rays. He pointed out the teeth that may have cavities or need fillings in them, he explained the process of the procedures he recommended I have done, and explained exactly why I would have pain some days in certain areas of my mouth. After his thorough assessment I agreed to have the procedures done, and when we got started is where Dr. Po really impressed me. After making sure the local anesthetic applied to the area was fully working so I would not be in any discomfort, Dr. Po kept in constant communication with me during the procedure. He explained what he was doing, he also hands you a mirror so you can watch him work and see exactly what is going on (I thought that was really cool and it really helped ease any anxiety I had towards the procedure). I had drilling of a cavity done, as well as a new filling into the space, and a re-filling of a filling that was chipping (which was causing the on/off pain some days). Ive had drilling and fillings done in the past, but this was by far the most pleasant and comfortable experience Ive had doing this procedure. Im sure there are other skilled dentists in NJ that can carry out these procedures just as well. But the clean environment of the office, the friendly staff, and the knowledge and skill that Dr. Po exhibits is why I made Dr. Po my new primary dentist.

Terrified of the dentist due to a traumatic experience that I had as a child, It had been many years since Ive made an appointment with one. I knew I was long overdue for a trip to the dentist but prolonged a visit to one until I was experiencing any significant pain. Asking around, a friend of mine referred me to GPC Dental but I was reluctant to go since I had not been to a dentist in years. I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Po because I just couldnt take the pain anymore! Knowing that this was my first trip to the dentist in a significant amount of time, Dr. Po kindly welcomed me with a few jokes already putting me at ease. This was a trip to the dentist that I had never experienced before. Dr. Po was very easy to talk to and really did his best to make sure I was comfortable by being very informative and going into detail about the. I even saw the x-rays of my teeth on a flat screen TV minutes after they were taken. It turned out that I had a cavity that needed to be filled in and it only took less than 30 minutes with no pain!!! Dr. Po was very funny and knew exactly how to get rid of my jitters probably making this the best experience I ever had at a dentist office. This was my first visit and definitely will not be my last, I think I finally found MY dentist!

UPDATED 2/7/17: I brought my 2.5 year old to Dr Pos office for her first visit ever. I was super nervous because she has never really taken to doctors and brushing her teeth is an absolute nightmare for me. But Sheryl is a wonderfully warm and gentle hygienist who took her time to be a little bit silly with my daughter, who almost instantly relaxed and let Sheryl clean her teeth without any issue. Dr. Po was equally warm and friendly with her, and I couldnt believe it when she opened her mouth right up so he could look at her teeth. He also took the time to answer all my questions about home care and things to watch for. We will definitely be back in six months for her next cleaning (and mine!). While our pediatrician did recommend a pediatric dentist as opposed to a dentist who also treats children - just based on my babys discomfort level with doctors -Im glad I went with my gut and took her to Dr. Po and Sheryl. Trustworthy, caring and great patient care! Dr. Po is the first dentist Ive ever been to who had a friendly, warm chairside manner, spoke to me honestly and realistically about what was happening with my teeth, and did a filling where I felt NOTHING! I could have fallen asleep in the chair -- he is the best!

If there was a more caring and thoughtful dentist, Id challenge him to a face off with Dr. Po. Hes the only dentist that I trust with my teeth - hes always told me truthfully if I needed a procedure done or not and looked out for my long-term best interests. Ive had experiences with other dentists where certain fillings and cleanings would actually create additional problems later rather than prevent future issues. Its the opposite with Dr. Po. He gives it to you straight and tells you what you can expect down the road with everything he does. Ive actually not had a single filling by Dr. Po fail in the 4 years that Ive been going to him. He puts meaning back in the term "Preventative Care". Hes good for your teeth and good for your wallet.

Dr. Po is an incredible dentist who is always concerned for the comfort of whoever is in the chair. He explained everything he was doing step by step (unless of course youd rather not know) and was receptive and willing to answer any questions I had. His anesthesia technique is unparalleled, and I didnt feel anything remotely close to pain when I was there (and I had a few visits that involved numbing). You even have cable TV in the room, and you can pick what you watch as Dr. Po and his assistants work on you. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. Overall it was a great experience that makes a trip to the dentist comfortable and fun rather than dreadful. Highly recommended.

I cant comment on the dentistry but I will say this is a bad business. They clearly do not understand how insurance plans work especially one of the major NJ insurers (which they should understand since they are a NJ provider.) They gave my husband a bad estimate of his financial responsibility which led to him deciding to purchase services based on that estimate. They then, later, presented him with a large -surprise- invoice. When I called the doctor to discuss he danced around the issue and took no accountability. Not a good customer experience at all. If youre looking to pay cash by all means go, but for the majority who rely on insurance, consider yourself warned.
