Dr. Peter Lugten is extremely professional and knowledgable. He has been our veterinarian of choice for over 10 years. My family has a basset hound/ boxer mixed dog named Brownie that is currently 13 years old and ever since he was a puppy he has been attended to by Dr. Lugten. I would not trust my dog to any other vet especially for surgeries. A couple of months ago Brownie had a huge fatty tissue on the side of his abdomen. We took him to Dr. Lugten for removal via surgery and in well under a week Brownie was pretty much completely healed. My family has been clients of Dr. Lugten since he had his practice in Farmingdale. The office he now has in Lindenhurst is great! The facility is very clean and well taken care of. For as long as we have pets, trust me Dr. Lugten, you will keep seeing us! :)

I have been going to Basic Pet Care since 2009. Ive never had any experience with veterinarians but now that I do, this is the best one around. They have always made room for my chihuahua Stanley when I had concerns and rushed him in. They provide boarding and grooming. The staff is extremely caring and considerate. Dr. Lugten is the best. They have all the latest medications and information on whats new. Seriously you guys over there, give yourself a pat on the back because your absolutely amazing. Keep up the great work and thank you so much for taking such great care of my baby Stan.

Ive been a cat owner for over thirty years and this is by far the best vet practice Ive used. They took great care of my previous cat when he was old and sick, and have taken excellent care of my current cat. Dr. Lugten is extremely professional and thorough. Other vets look at your animal for two seconds and they are on to the next patient. The doctor will spend the time your pet requires and you always feel that your pet is getting a superior level of care. I would not consider using any other vet in the area and wholeheartedly recommend this practice.

I switched to Basic Pet Care when I became dissatisfied with Babylon Animal Hospital. The vet techs and Dr Lutgen are a great staff. I get my appointments when I need one. They listen to exactly what I need done. Ive been out of work and the office worked with me when my dog need to continue her seizure medication. They keep the cost low without putting my dogs health at risk. Dr Lutgen is very thorough and takes the time to explain everything clearly. Im very happy here.

BEST VET EVER!! We have 3 cats. Our beloved Pinky had an intestinal cancer and Doc Lugten has been fantastic. He made the correct diagnosis, he suggested the best care, and he supported us during the final days of our cat. Jenny, Jennifer, Corinne and Stephanie are always smiling, and so very helpful! Brought my 12 yr old cat in yesterday when I couldnt get an appointment with my regular vet. I must say that Dr. Lugen and his vet tech were really great with my sick pet. Doctor was very thorough and really took the time to examine my cat and gave me a lot of useful information. Its only been one day but my buddy is recovering nicely! Would definitely recommend!

Dr. Lugten is thorough , professional and dedicated to providing top notch care for our pet . Our pet remembers Dr. every time we return and considers him one of the family . Doctor Lugten happens to be a brilliant surgeon and had miraculously saved my best friend , Max the cat after he was accidentally run over . He went on to live to be twenty years old.

The Dr and staff were very nice, caring and so understanding. My cat was sick and very scared being an indoor cat. The Dr was so gentle with her and explained everything to me. Also, they were nice to give her a cucumber melon bath! Now Cutie is sleeping with me again. I couldnt imagine ever going anywhere else. Thank you so much

Ive been taking all of my pets here for over 20 years. Doc is the best and he really cares. Whenever one of my pets had an issue he got to the root of the problem quickly. Appointments are scheduled so there is minimal waiting and I have never felt like I was billed for anything unnecessary. Highly recommend!

I help them cut a fallen tree limb behind the building so I was late to my appointment and they cancel it on me. To top it if they were nasty to me about it. DONT GO THERE. If they treat people this badly how would they treat your dog.
