My husband and I have taken our animals to Inwood Animal Clinic over the years and have great respect for Dr Tsung and the kind and helpful staff. However due to my recent experience with Dr Shimel we will never return. His bed side manner is horrible. I felt pressured and taken advantage of based on my emotional state after discovering my senior pug had a tumor in his mouth which had destroyed much of his jaw. While inevitably the humane decision would be to have him put down, Dr Shimel made me feel that I had to do it then and it would be wrong to take him home even though an alternative he had suggested was for me to take him to a specialist. So how is it that he was healthy enough to go forward with more tests and not to go home for one night to say goodbye to his family? The assistants were wonderful. And while the process was quick, I was given the opportunity to remain in the room and spend special time with my Pup. However as I was leaving, I had opened the door and while putting on my coat I believe I overheard Dr Shimel say "ok the memorial has gone on long enough." I do not think I incorrectly heard this. Had this not occurred I would still stand by my utter disdain for this vet. Thank you Dr Tsung for your years of care but we will not be returning while this man is on your staff.

I have been fortunate enough to bring my two cats to Inwood Animal Clinic for the past 4 years. Dr. Tsung is AMAZING: knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly gifted with animals. On my most recent visit, I took in my kitten, who had been coughing up a bloody discharge. The previous evening, I had taken her to an emergency veterinary clinic for examination, and they told me that nothing appeared on their x-ray: they simply couldnt tell what was wrong. Within two minutes of the exam at Inwood, Dr. Tsang (using only her hands and a light-up scope!) saw a foreign object (a sewing needle my cat had somehow ingested) lodged in my kittys throat. She removed it, shared before and after x-rays with me, and even shared advice in person and through email. I came in feeling scared, not knowing why my cat was in so much distress, and left feeling so much better about my cats health. Not only did Dr. Tsung heal my kitty, but I was charged less than half the amount that I had paid the night before at the emergency vet--who had done nothing to help my cat or give me answers. Thank you Dr. Tsung and staff. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone.

My boyfriend and I had a rough couple of days after having our dog neutered. The first night he was continuously throwing up - I called the clinic the next day and they gave him fluids which brought him right back to normal. A few days later, my once housebroken dog, was peeing all over the house every 30 minutes - he could not even make it downstairs when we were out of the apartment. We took him in to Inwood Animal Clinic - they did a thorough exam and a urine test - but everything looked fine. They had us come back in to run a few more tests. Although his tests were normal, the vet listened to our concerns (and the fact that we knew there was something wrong) and put him on antibiotics for a possible UTI - in case the urine test was a false negative. A few days later our puppy was back to normal! Inwood animal clinic worked with us to diagnose the problem and always treated our dog and us so well. The veterinarian listened to us and addressed all of our questions and concerns. Highly recommend this place - the veterinarians and staff are awesome!!

Friendly, humane, knowledgeable, reasonable, efficient. All three of my cats have been there, two for routine things (dental, vacc.), and one with FIV, who gets a lot of difficult-to-diagnose/treat issues. Both Dr.Tsung and Dr.Fried have given me a lot of help with him, are always available to discuss any concerns that come up on the phone, and most recently were his life-savers when he had a urinary tract blockage, and subsequent liver issues. They will never push treatment because it would make money; rather, they do whats best for the animal, and try to keep the cost down too. So glad to have them in the neighbourhood.

The place is a little small, but the Staff and Doctors are very friendly, easy to talk to and joke with, and know exactly what they are doing. I brought my cat in for a worm check and vaccination updates. Hes a pretty difficult cat, but they worked with him very easily and took really good care of him. We were in and out within an hour, only because we had to wait for test results. The cost was lower than I was expecting, considering he had a test, two shots, and then a medication added on. I definitely recommend Inwood Animal Clinic to anyone who lives in Inwood/Washington Heights.

I took my cat to see Dr. Tsung, the cat had trouble breathing, she took blood work first than an X-Ray and said he had a respitory infection, the following week, my cat had open mounth breathing and I took him to Tuckahoe Animal Hospital in Yonkers, where they took another XRay and it show that my cat had a Tumor the size of a Grapefruit in his chest. Sadly he is no longer with me. How could she not see this in the X-Ray. P.S. save yourself money on Blood work and request that X-ray done first, they usually show the problem that blood work dosent.

Took my dog Charlie to the clinic twice in the same day, once for a tick removal and then later for an unrelated allergic reaction. Charlie was seen almost immediately both times. The staff were very friendly and were very patient with both of us and answered all my questions. Charlie left feeling a lot better both times, and so did I. The price for treatment was very affordable both times. I highly recommend this clinic to all pet owners.

My previous vet was ok, but very pushy and very expensive. Since I just moved to Inwood, I decided to give the Inwood Animal Clinic a try when my dog came due for his annual rabies vaccination. Dr. Tsung and her staff - especially the receptionist - were friendly, genuine, and and obvious animal lovers! Even better, I paid almost $100 less than I would have at the other veterinarian. Absolutely recommend!

We have had many good experiences with our dog at Inwood Animal Clinic. Dr. Tsung has been fantastic. She really cares and is very knowledgeable. The clinic has been very clean every time we have gone. The staff have also been very caring and willing to go the extra mile to try to help our dog feel comfortable as much as possible. We have never had to wait very long. I highly recommend Dr. Tsung.

I would have to say..when I first got my puppy I was a bit skeptic because I dont really like washington heights but this has to be the best vet clinic out there. They have good customer service (Diane is a doll) and doctors Tsung and Fried are great. They always have time to speak with you about your pets and are extremely honest. There prices are resonable. I would totally recommend this place.
