Dr Luckow is very knowledgeable and he cares about giving first rate care and his reputation. I have two small dogs and one has a cronic degenerative heart condition. He was given 6 months to live 11 months ago. He is still kicking and perky thanks to the balance of meds prescribed by Dr Luckow. Every diagnosis he has made for my dogs has been right. My dogs love him and fall asleep in his lap while he chats with us. He spends a LOT of time with us on every visit. Sometimes it is hard to get an appointment. Sometimes there can be miscommunications between the doctor and his staff and I when coordinating what appointments are required for ongoing care and prescriptions. But like with people doctors, you have to be your own advocate and take responsibility for staying on top of your own care. It is very difficult to get through during his open question phone time, BUT I have never met a vet that that even offers that so OF COURSE it is going to be popular. Also- if its urgent, he will call you first anyway. His Facebook page is full of useful reminders. I highly recommend him. No one is perfect and that includes Dr Luckow, but if you want an accurate diagnosis, good bedside manner, a doctor who cares that you and your pets have been given the proper treatment plan...youre in the right place.

Highly recommend Dr. Luckow and the staff at Broadway Animal Hospital. In my experience Ive found Dr. Luckow to be personable and thoughtful at maneuvering the delicate balance between necessary treatment and preventative treatment all the while considering costs to the owner. I do not feel like Im being sold, and whenever I have questions and want to learn more he patiently shares and explains. As with many practitioners there is a shelf life before the job becomes tedious lacking fulfillment and purpose. Dr. Luckow is the antithesis of this despondence, his level of care and enthusiasm is evident from the onset of meeting him. Go see for yourself and make an appointment.

I have been going to Dr. Luckow since 2002 - with my first two, very large dogs, and now my second pair of very large dogs. I live in Manhattan but willingly go to Riverside to see him. He is wonderful with animals and has a calming nature that puts them at ease. I have never felt he pushed for unnecessary tests - in fact I inquired if my boys should get a Lyme disease vaccine and he said it wasnt necessary, unless I was taking them Upstate. He has call-in times in the morning, if you just want to ask him a question on the phone. He blogs on pertinent topics for all kinds of animals. I cant recommend him highly enough.

My girlfriend has a cat that is not very friendly, but the doctor was able to make the cat feel very relaxed and safe. He did not do any unnecessary tests, and kept his questions and diagnostics very simple and easy to understand. He is a very good communicator. The staff is friendly and efficient. I adopted a dog, and brought him here for his first appointment rather than the vet in Manhattan which is closer to me.

My wife and I have been taking our 15 year old Tonkinese cat here for the past several years. Dr Luckow is absolutely fantastic! Knowledgeable, courteous, very kind to our otherwise skittish cat who justs melts in his arms :) ! Not to mention the staff is extremely professional, he orders the most relevant tests and his prices are more than fair. Worthy of the OUTSTANDING reviews he receives!

I own 3 cats. The Broadway Animal Hospital is ultimately the best .There is a best attention,without the unnecessary manipulations (if just to compare what it was in other clinics),the prices are reasonable and are not astronomical(again,if to compare to the other clinics),and the attention to the pets (and owners!) and the professional level are amazing. Highly recommended!

Vet was unwilling to treat presumptively, only to treat after alot of tests. If I didnt want to do all the tests, which ones were most important? He wouldnt say. He left us with about the same information we had before we went in, not helpful at all.

Dr. Luckow and his staff have always been friendly, respectful and caring to us. He really show a great deal of care and concern not only for his patients but for the owners of his patients. Has to be the best vet Ive ever been to.

Horrible. Avoid at all costs. Poor service. The only thing he has going for him is he likes to tell stories about why he is going to rape you financially. He gives Cornell Veterinary School a bad name.
