The Office for Dental Arts is a wonderful dental office located conveniently in Queens and is not hard to find. What separates this dental office from the seemingly hundreds located within Queens alone, is that Dr. Hershkowitz is thorough, takes his time, and cares for all his patients regardless if they are first time newcomer or a long-time client. As many dental and medical offices today often rush clients, it is difficult to find a dental office where the patients are not rushed and the doctor (s) takes the time to converse and get to know the client on a personal level, even if he/ she has a little time before the next assignment. It is especially in this regard that this office stands out. Doctor Hershkowitz along with the rest of medical staff, and receptionist are kind personable people who make you, the client, feel as though you are a long-time friend. It is assuring to know that the qualified people attending to your dental issues are people that care about you, but also have a high-degree of dental knowledge. They really try and make every effort to make sure that every person who walks through their door feels like family. If perhaps your financial situation or financial reimbursement was a concern, this office goes out of their way to submit all insurance forms for you and can help you receive your benefits. If you as a patient required major work, they can also assist you in completing a payment plan with a payment plan that works for you. If you were wondering about the credentials of Dr. Hershkowitz, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Columbia University in 1976, and was awarded his D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1980. Not to mention, he has been in private practice in the Bayside area for over 20 years. Thus, not only has he achieved a high college degree but also has a significant amount of quality experience for the last two decades! The Office for Dental Arts aims to provide the highest quality dentistry for all individuals and their families. Their established office meets and even exceeds all of OSHA and CDC standards. So do yourself a favor, and stop by the office if you should need any dental work to be done. Even the office looks neat and organized and makes you feel very comfortable. It should be mentioned, that at the time I went they even distribute free travel sized Colgate Total toothpaste in the waiting room for their clients! They even have this cool "tooth" designed chair for children thats most intriguing!

I am lucky enough to say Ive been a patient of Dr. Hershkowitz since late 2013, and would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a dentist. Not only is he an experienced dental surgeon, he is a remarkably honest and decent guy. These are the qualities to look for when entrusting your dental care to someone, I lucked out Over the past 2-3 years I have been treated by Dr. Hershkowitz numerous times for a wide range of dental issues, which have included fillings, root canals, an extraction, dental bridge implant etc. I needed a lot of work. I personally think my teeth are unrecognizable from when we met. Its hard to describe how much healthier I feel, or how good it feels to be able to smile without feeling embarrassed. I can honestly say I have never felt any pain and I could not be more grateful of the results of his work, which is ongoing. If you are a nervous patient (or not), or have been putting off going, I would recommend calling Dr. Hershkowitz. Ive had a few not-so-good visits to the dentist in the past and I can honestly say they were night and day compared to visiting David. He always takes time to communicate what he is doing, has a story to tell, or cracks jokes when he can tell Im nervous. It is humbling to see someone who truly cares about their patients and shows that care in the quality of their work and attention to every detail. I went to Dr. David complaining about a single tooth that causes me a bad taste and breath and -instead of treating that single tooth- he replaced 6 crowns including that tooths crown. Later on turned out that the problem is not addressed so I went to a new dentist who informed me that the tooth I am complaining about has infection and needs a root canal re-treatment. I would have saved a lot of money if Dr.David fixed a single root canal instead of replacing 6 crowns or at least referred me to an Endodontist!!! Even worse he did a root canal for another tooth that was not successful and now has infection too so now I have to pay for two root canals re-treatment in full -some 16 hundreds for each- because retreatment is not covered by the insurance. In regards to your response below, I agree that you were taking the appropriate steps Only to make the most money by deceiving your patient into unnecessary work. And for that I will make sure to hold you responsible for malpractice.

Dr. Hershkowitz is a great man, I needed a good amount of work done to my teeth and he walked me through the whole process and sees me on the regular to make sure everything is in tack. He has a great knowledge of many things beyond dentistry. He has a genuine care for his patients and will extend a hand of friendship along with the great dental care. His hours are great and he works in a very efficient manner where he respects everyones timing! His secretary Donna is always willingly to answer any questions you have and always makes sure to send you reminders when your appointment approaches. Shannon is another vital part to the office, she is the Doctors assistant and Is very nice and is always doing everything to the best of her ability like the Doctor himself! Everyone in the office has a great chemistry that really blends well and the end result is a better experience for their patients.

Dr. Hershkowitz is a Godsend to the ninth degree. My dental neglect put me on the path of loosing too many teeth. I lost my smile and confidence because of the neglect. Then I put my trust and confidence in Dr. Hershkowitz and was rewarded ! The Doctor made me Smile again !!! His skill is superior ! Never once was there a pain issue. It was a major factor why I neglected my teeth... What a staff hes put together...From the front desk to hygienists they are friendly, helpful, and professional . The thing I like best about Dr. Hershkowitz is that he takes enormous care with me. He knows that my finances have been challenging and he has been willing to work with me so that I can get great care without causing financial problems. He is respectful, concerned. I have gone to bad dentists and had bad experiences. He has countered all of that. His staff is also respectful and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr. Hershkowitz. I am editing this review because I have just noticed that there is a caustic review posted here by a recent former employee of Dr. Hershkowitz. My experience with that former employee was that he, not Dr H, was rude, relentless, harassing and consistently inappropriate. I was relieved to learn that he was dismissed. I am sure other patients were as well.
