Something has changed. Cant trust this place. 1 They lack communication or tools for peer to peer communication tool about in-patients. You can ask for a cup of tea, a medicine, your desire to talk to a doctor, or to use the restroom, and that information gets lost repeatedly. It will finally come in about 4 hours and after two more requests. I ultimately began using the facilities without help. The operator for the nurse call button hangs up abruptly if she doesnt hear or doesnt understand. 2) They discharge you without proper medications or services. I went in for massive leg pains and massive muscle tension and spasms hitting me about 11 on a scale of 10. In the meantime I was put on heavy dose of meds I do not own because they are narcotics and muscle relaxants. They ruled out MS with hours of MRIs, without ever mentioning this too me, I know I am MS free, why waste my time. Then poof, I am discharged WITH NO MEDICATIONs they were providing, about 6 in total to keep the pain down. I called pharmacy and my meds were not called in. Only a nausea med since I was queazy when I left. I called and asked why the meds had not been called in. I was told by Doddi on the 2nd floor to go to the ER again and get into the system and maybe a doctor will prescribe me what the releasing doctor already did 2 hours ago.

My Mom 85 years old was in the hospital in October 2014 for a week in bed. I was begging physical therapy to get her up walking. After a week she walks 60 feet, and they tell me to take her home, Medicare will not pay for another day. They never suggested a rehab. They wanted the room, because they moved her neighbor down the hall, and my brother called a hour later and a man answered her phone that was in her bed. I took her home and she made one step of three to get into the house, and fell like a sack of potatoes. Ripped her leg up really bad. We had to wait outside until my girl friend came to help us, and the two of us man handled her to get her into the house. She is only 115 pounds, but she could not walk at all. I complained to the hospital, they told me maybe she needs a good nights sleep, they reviewed her paper work, and agreed that she was fine. This should have never happened to her. I have yet to receive a survey to fill out, they are refusing to send one to me. Only the people who have a good experiences get surveys.

Thanks to the acute eye of the ER doctor, ( a woman doctor, forget her name, bright blue eyes, glasses, reddish blondish hair, 50ish) my Mom was admitted and frankly, it saved her life. If her symptoms had been downplayed and she had been sent home, she would have died that night, because a blood clot hit her lung which is extremely extremely life threatening, but because she was in a hospital setting when it happened, life saving measures were immediately enacted and my Mom made a miraculous recovery. She did spend some time in the ICU after that, and most certainly her faith in God and the Blessed Mother played a big part, but the wonderful caring doctors and nurses made all the difference. We personally are very grateful and have nothing but praise for this place. Thank you.

I visited the same Radiology folks four times in about six weeks. Different procedures and issues each time, but I cannot express how consistently wonderful, professional, informative, supportive and kind they all were during some difficult procedures. I also was admitted to the hospital during one of these times, and the experience from the ER to the discharge was unexpectedly fantastic. At each phase of my visit I was impressed with the level of individual care consistent from the admissions, to the nurses, janitorial folks and orderlies, even the food service person. All genuinely cared and engaged with me personally and it felt so reassuring and wonderful during an unexpected incident. This is the level of care we should all be receiving in all health care experiences.

The hospital is beautiful nurses are wonderful. We had a hospitalist, Nurse Practitioner and an infectious disease doctor who between all three rude, arrogant and disrespectful. No compassion on the year long journey of open heart surgery and cancer with huge complications from the cancer surgery. When we arrived ar NDH we were beside ourselves. It is a very long story on the details but so disappointed in the way we were treated. The patient advocate was wonderful and tried to help but also met with opposition from the hospitalist Dr S. dont understand why he would be employed at a hospital who claim to be patient centered A real shame.

After taking my wife Josie to several different Doctors,Dermatoligists One Doctor was able to find out what was wrong with her. We had been advise to go to the Northern Dutchess Wound center for further evaluation. The Doctors and Nurses at the center are terrific and most pleasent to be around. The knowledge there is great. and withinh 4 weeks the prblem with my wifes legs have greatly healed and she is Hiopefully on the road to recovery of lympadema w/verocous The Staff is simply put GREAT. I would advise any person with a wound that need looking after please donnot hesitate to go there. In all Thank you Mike Papesca

My girlfriend recently went to the ER for an ongoing issue. We have always had excellent service in the ER but she had to be admitted and the admitting Dr. quite a different story. He couldnt have been more arrogant, condescending and rude. I have to wonder why someone becomes a Dr. when the main goal is their ego and not patient care. He totally dismissed a previous diagnosis and refused the input of a specialist. Why is Dr. S. on staff at NDH? Good question. needled to say, we wont be using their services any time soon.

I had knee surgery at NDH yesterday and I cant say enough about this hospital! First, it is without a doubt the cleanest hospital I have ever been in and as an EMT for over 15 years I have been in a lot of hospitals. The staff there, from registration to pre-op to the OR itself were the best! The level of care, compassion and attention I received was more than I had ever expected! Its so nice to see a health care facility go the extra mile. BRAVO NDH!

Last weekend was the worst experience I have had in 20 years at N. Dutchess! A family member was admitted stayed over night and released -I never saw a Doctor!! The nurses were hard to find , the food was not what he ordered most of the time. He requested a sponge bath and at over 90 yrs old was given a warm wash cloth and towel to Do it himself with NO assistance. We waited half a day for an oxygen tank to get him home..It was put in my TRUNK!

Incapable of resolving any type of billing related issues. After 8 months since our childs birth, we are still dealing with morons at this hospital who cant submit a claim correctly or even bill the right amount. Our insurance tells us one amount and this bunch of rag tag so called medical personnel are demanding an amount $500 more. Horrible institution that I would not recommend to anyone.
