This dentist had book learning, but not the skills to match. I wasnt impressed. First, my lower jaw took a long time to numb and he was obviously frustrated and seemed like he just wanted to go home, so the dental work was quickly and impatiently done. He and his assistant were also talking about how they "liked Trump" and no matter what your politics, I dont think thats a professional topic to talk about in front of a patient. But both the impatience and the politics I could have ignored if he had done my dental work well. He replaced two of my fillings and both times didnt know how to make the fillings flush with my bite. He had me bite on a piece of paper, looked at it, and seemed to not know what to make of it, because he kept asking me if my bite felt right. Keep in mind that my jaw was totally numb and felt weird, so I had NO idea whether my bite was off or not. So I said "I think its okay," and he accepted that as truth and sent me on my way. A month later, my temperature sensitivity in those teeth came back. I was angry. Had this guy messed up my dental work that badly that with a new filling, it didnt even solve my problem? I was referred to Dr. Kim at Aspen Dental in Irondequoit. She saw the problem after looking at my mouth for 2 seconds. The filling was NOT flush with my bite, and she scaled it down there and then in 5 minutes with no pain. She knew whether the impressions on the piece of paper was right or not, without my input. Apparently that could have brought back my temperature sensitivity, although we wont be sure for another couple weeks. I will not be going back to Torrado.

I am a new patient and had my first appointment today. The entire staff was friendly and professional, I had a wisdom tooth pulled, Dr Shumova and her assistant was very kind and attentive throughout the entire procedure. Dr Shumova knew what she was doing and what she was looking for. Clean enviroment and a great atmosphere, the waiting room was cozy. Its a great place and Im happy to be a patient here.
