We chose Dr. Lou for our daughters first dentist appointment based on the amazing reviews online as well as a personal recommendation. Our entire experience in making the appointment and with the front office staff was great - no complaints. The waiting room had plenty of games and a TV to entertain the kids and overall it seemed state of the art. The Dental Assistant who received us and started off with us in the exam room was very friendly, explained things well, and my daughter loved her. THEN Dr. Lou comes in the room - doesnt introduce himself, doesnt even acknowledge me as her mother, doesnt explain what hes going to do in terms that she could understand, nothing. My daughter asked him if he was "Dr Lou", and then he engaged in some weird smart-aleck banter with her... "Do I look like the doctor?" etc and not in a sweet way. His demeanor was entirely inappropriate and he was treating her as if she was 12 years old. I politely reminded him that this was our FIRST dental visit. He proceeded to try to check out her teeth very aggressively and when my daughter shied away from opening her mouth, he badgered her with comments like "Come on now, I dont have all day" and "Ive got to get going". She then started to get upset and cry and myself and the Dental Assistant tried to comfort her and tell her it was okay, all was going to be fine. He then shouted at both of us "Everyone be quiet!! Or I will make you all leave the room". Then he proceeded to ask my daughter a question and when she was scared to answer him (because of what he just yelled) he asked her if she had "cloth in her ears". I cannot even begin to describe my total shock and disbelief that this could possibly be appropriate beside manner for a pediatric dentist. Thankfully my daughter is pretty tough and doesnt seem to be scared about the idea of the dentist, despite our experience. However - WE WILL NOT BE BACK. We have never been treated like this ANYWHERE let alone at the first dentist visit for a 3 year old. Unbelievable. Beware!

My 6 year old son knocked his permanent front tooth out when he tripped and landed on a rock. It was a Thursday evening about 7pm and needless to say it was pretty traumatic. When I tried unsuccessfully to re-insert the tooth, Dr. Lou told me to rush over and meet him in the office. It was after hours with, but he managed to convince a colleague who was a pediatric dental surgeon (sorry I cant remember his name, but he was great too!) to meet us there as well. The two of them were able to re-insert the tooth and apply a temporary brace and a few stitches (not fun watching them stitch a needle through his gums!!) to give the tooth a chance. We went back weekly for about a month, then less often. I am thrilled to report that 9 months later, the tooth still seems really stable. It may not last forever, but will hopefully get him til when hes old enough to get a replacement (face needs to be fully grown before that is an option). My son was extremely scared and upset and so was I. Dr. Lou went above and beyond the call of duty to help. I am very grateful!

We are soooo grateful for Dr. Lou! We had very bizarre experience with a highly popular dentist in Scarsdale/Eastchester who insisted on using general anesthesia to extract my daughters tooth, which had a cavity. Our pediatrician was appalled at this grossly unnecessary recommendation and promptly sent us to see Dr. Lou (I dont know why we didnt just ask for her recommendation to begin with). Lo and behold, Dr. Lou was able to fill the cavity with normal techniques like nitrous oxide and a little novocaine. My daughter was completely at ease with Dr. Lou and his staff, and they expertly treated her without her ever taking her attention off her My Little Pony video! Weve been back for regular appointments, and its always a pleasure. Dr. Lou and his staff have a way with kids. Its not just about pediatric dentistry, but they seem to have a wonderful sense for pediatric psychology! My kids love coming to the dentist and have no fear or anxiety whatsoever. I truly thank Dr. Lou for that!!!

Our experience with Dr. Emelie Preis at NY Pediatric Dentistry has been very positive. Weve been going there since my daughter was 2. The office is extremely clean, the receptionist a very courteous and prompt. The office environment is unique and there are lots of fun activities for the kids to do while waiting - which there is very little of (!). In the exam rooms, there are TVs on the ceilings to help entertain and distract the kids. Dr. Preis is very gentle, caring, and thorough. She is very patient in explaining the procedures and is more than happy to answer any questions you mat have. Overall we have been very pleased with our experience and would definitely recommend Dr. Preis and the practice. Our daughter hasnt cried once and actually enjoys a visit to the dentist!!

Kudos to Dr. Lou and the entire staff of NY Pediatric & Adult Dentistry! They make our visit to the dentist not only pleasant but my daughter actually looks forward to her visits. They are caring, kind, helpful, friendly, words cannot appropriately describe this staff. My daughter is 6 years old and was not a fan of going to the dentist, but the care, patience and the level of professionalism that was shown to her, goes unmatched. I recommend NY Pediatric & Adult Dentistry to anyone who is looking for a group of people who is not only knowledgeable in what they do, but do their best every time to make your visit as pleasant as possible and especially for the littlest of the family! My girls LOVE going to the dentist and that is only because the experience they have with the NY P&A Dentistry. The ladies in the reception, the assistent to Dr Cooper, all off them are extremely helpful, lovely and patient. The place is clean, fun and sometimes its hard to drag the girls away from it. On a quality level, I am very happy with the treatment and the procedure. I admit to be lucky with the fact that neither of my daughters have any dental issues but even so, things are done thoroughly and never in a rush. The whole experience is very pleasant and it is a reason that even though we moved away to Old Greenwich, we still always come back to see Dr Lou!

Our children love Dr. Lou! Our son began with Dr Lou when he was 2 years old. Our daughter began at 1 year. Dr. Lou is patient, has excellent rapport with kids and carefully explains what hes going to do (and then doing) to our son and daughter in language thats easy for our toddlers to understand. Our kids arent afraid of the dentist and really love going to see Dr Lou! The waiting room, staff, and exam rooms are all fun, engaging places. Weve also had to call Dr Lou for after-hours emergencies due to falls. Hes always been calm, helpful, and specific about how to treat the mouth injuries and has seen our kids right away.

My children both love going to Dr. Lou! I found the experience here to be fun as well as professional! We have never had to wait for more than a few minutes, but if we did, the waiting room is equipped with plenty of electronics and toys to keep kids completely entertained! Dr. Lou and his assistants take their time and communicate with my children to make them feel comfortable and make their visits a wonderful experience! My children always look forward to their next visit! The office is immaculate! I highly recommend Dr. Lou and the entire staff at NY Pediatric Dentistry!
