I recently adopted a dog and wanted to get him neutered. I made an appointment with VCA for a pre-op checkup, even though I had provided paperwork that stated he was healthy and good for the procedure. The doctor examined my dog and brought him to the back room to get some blood work done before scheduling for his operation. In most cases, dont they usually do the blood work in front of you..? Anyways..during the pre-op, the doctor stated that my dog had a condition where one of his testicles was retained, but that he was still able to go on with the procedure. I made the appointment and was given a quote of $450, which was also confirmed by the vet. The day comes where I have to drop my dog off. One of the staff members brings me a run down of the procedure and tells me it would cost $562+ because of the retained testicle. I told the staff that I was given a quote of $450 and he stated that they were not able to do the procedure for that amount. He basically told me to pay up or go somewhere else. I shouldve gone somewhere else, but chose to stay, mainly because I wanted the procedure done. Im writing this review because I felt it was unprofessional of the staff to quote me a price knowing the condition of my dog and then changing the price at the last minute. VCA is in the service of saving animals and making it affordable for all. Ill know for next time to find a place that cares about a dogs well being and not so much about collecting money. What a shame, VCA. Update: manager called me the day of the procedure and apologized for the miscommunication. Refunded me the extra cost. Thank you much Elissa. You are an excellent example of superb customer service.

This place is horrible. They are all about the money. When I first made the appointment they gave me a coupon for a free examination. I was pleased but not fooled had a feeling there was a catch. they told me to bring a sample of my cats feces. I did. After they diagnosed her with a touch of an over active thyroid, they charged me $75 to look at her stool. Just to examine it. I thought that would have been part of the full examination. they did lab work I had to pay for that. so what was the free examination part. I guess taking her out of the carrier and putting her on the table. Needless to say they told me she didnt need the medication at the time, if her weight loss continued and her eating habits didnt change then they would. So happily she went back to the cat she used to be eating her food and weight loss stopped. so a year later my cat died this past Thursday April 9, 2015 the doctor at the Emergency Pet Room, knew right off hand what was wrong with her. and it was too late to save her. All due to that County Animal Clinic not treating her health issue. Especially in a senior cat. So I guess it was a case of neglect the problem we make more money off of treating it. So dont do it if you love your pet.

They are legitimately thieves and will change quoted prices on you and are just there to rip you off. We brought our cat there last summer and they overcharged us for a stay and all these tests that they might not have even done. Then they performed oral surgery on the cat (which apparently was just for the money) and quoted us one price and charged us another when we arrived. We just had to put our cat down and the new vet we took him to said that he has had cancer for quite a while and it would have absolutely been seen at the previous appointments. So not only did they overcharge me, perform unnecessary surgical procedures on the cat, and either lie about doing the tests or lie about the findings...they let the poor cat live for a year in pain just so they could line their pockets. County Animal Clinic is a terrible place. It is my opinion that the "doctor" Sarah Gangadin is either a thief or incompetent and this place will do everything they can to just get your money with no actual care for the animal. They charged me 2600$ and didnt even diagnose something they should have found which would have saved us a lot of money and my cat a lot of pain. Save yourself the time and money.

VCA Animal Hospital is absolutely wonderful to me and my 2 cats, I have been going there for quite a few years now and cannot think of a better place for you to take your 4 legged babies. Dr. Peta is our veterinarian and she has such a great personality and treats my boys like little princes, which they are! My little guy has had respiratory issues since I found him and Dr. Peta has been so vigilant on figuring out the best course of treatment for him and cares deeply when following up on his health. I am moving away next month and am truly sad I have to lose such a great place I can take my babies, they are my family and do not trust many with their care, Dr. Peta thankfully has some great vets to refer me to in my new state. So in closing, Dr. Peta and the staff at County Animal Clinic are AWESOME!!

Attention all pet owners DO NOT go here. Yonkers County Vet is a complete rip off and they are in it just for the money, Dr. Young lacks the true skills and care, he charges a fortune. I went here on Christmas day and he charge over 500 and could not resolve anything, and tried to send me to a different vet. He then charged around 300 for an x-ray. Nothing he did could resolve the issue.DO your self a favor; take a trip into the city to humane society or ASPCA to get the finest affordable care, where it’s way worth it! Warm regards.

I have been taking my animals to this clinic for 5 years and have no complaints. I am very distressed to hear about the accidents with cat carriers, etc. There really is no excuse for that and that is why I am only giving 4 stars. But overall, I have really appreciated the vets at this clinic. They are compassionate, understanding, and I believe have the pets interests at heart. I have recommended this clinic to several friends who also have had positive experiences. Dr. P and Zeke... you are good guys.

This is my Vet and Ive been very happy with the level of service I get here. They are part of the Veterinarian College of America (VCA) with one of the best hospitals, Animal Specialty Hospital. All working together. Its a great way to deliver care in my opinion. A few minor flaws... remind me about vaccines after Ive already gotten them, minor things off that nature. Follow up. They now, because of going out of their way to help with a certain case have more than earned 5 Stars

Absolute rip-offs! We took our dog to get examined for an infection and they charged us almost $500 in fees -$285 for blood test alone! While we were asked if we want to do the blood test, the fees werent disclosed and same was done when he was given a shot of antibiotics for $80 and we were never told about getting him the pills as it would probably be cheaper option. Ive never been somewhere where prices arent discussed with clients prior to billing them!
