We had an awful experience with Dr. Bennett, he does not care about patients interest at all and he is very rude. You will just be a number for him. My 5 year old got 3 cavities, two need filling and 1 needs extraction according to him. We had to wait for 3 weeks to get an appointment with him, we went to the appointment. He asked if they can use laughing gas, I said no, then he said he will do the extraction today, I told him we are not ready for the extraction yet, we would prefer to get the fillings done in this visit, for that tooth that needs the extraction, since my daughter does not complain about it, I need a little more time to think about it and will do it in the next visit. This is a tooth that will grow back in when my child will be 10 and half years old, and my daughter would have 5 years missing a bottom molar tooth and I consider that a big decision. Dr. Bennett immediately became angry and said just leave my office now and go to see other dentists, he asked his nurse to send us out. I was in complete shock, I waited 3 weeks for this appointment, I took my work day off just for this dentist visit, I had to take my daughter from the school just for this visit, and he simply kicked us out of the door within the first minute in his office. My 5 year old was originally lying on the treatment chair, she got up and looked puzzled and scared at the dentist reaction and said "mommy, lets just leave". Can anyone tell me why a doctor would force procedures on a patient that she is not comfortable with? Are laughing gas and tooth extraction making more profit than routine tooth filling? This dentist has such an unpredictable temper, and lacks professional morality for being a doctor. he does not care about his patients at all. Now I am ending up having to find a new dentist and may have to wait another two weeks to get my childs cavity fixed, by which time, the cavity condition may get worse...

0 Stars, No longer recommend this dentist. After my 3 children has been coming to the dentist office for years, today my appointment got canceled, for being 5 minutes late and not updating the insurance info (Supposedly they called, but I never received a voice mail). Husband, went back home to get the new PPO insurance card and was told by staff my thats ok, and to wait to be called... my kids were called to be seen by the dentist, they sat down in dentist chair, then they were kicked out and I was told as per Dr. Melanie she wont see my kids, because in her BS opinion my kids has no insurance. A few minutes, later my husband arrived with the insurance card... Husband went inside, spoke to staff and they told him same story about having insurance updated 48hours prior and if I would gave them a credit card, my kids would of been seen, as they could wait for the insurance card. Yes, staff did ask for the credit and I told them my husbands is on the way, but staff didnt specify if I didnt provide the CC until they receive the insurance card from my husband, my kids would loose the appointment. If I would of known that, I would of gave them the CC, instead as stated prior, they told me to have my kids wait to be seen, then they were call and sat in the dentist chair only to be kicked out. So unprofessional...This is not right, because she got patients from Dr. Stephens and now she is treating patients like garbage. After so many years, this horrific experience pushed us away and Im taking my kids to another dentist.

Dr. Melanie is the absolute best! As well as the entire staff at South Florida Dentistry for Children. People should cross counties to come here! Just walking up to the building, you are immediately at ease. The design of the newly constructed building makes you feel like you are in a calming tropical oasis before you even enter the doors...which once you do open, you are greeted by the friendliest group of people. My kids ran right over to the waiting area, which is so inviting, they forgot they were at the dentist. Dr. Melanie immediately put our kids at ease with her friendly demeanor, great sense of humor, and kind words...she is a true child whisperer. I was shocked to see my four year old sit calmly in the chair while being worked on. The hygienist educated my son and made him an active part of the process. My two year old daughter was the same...I think Im still in shock. My kids loved the prizes, and balloons, education, and accolades. They were also impressed with the video games and awesome transformer and Winnie the pooh toothbrushes. Dr. Melanie is thorough and answers all of your questions...she makes you feel like you are the only patient there. The little to no wait time, and individualized attention is like no other place I have seen or heard of. I highly recommend Dr. Melanie and South Florida Dentistry for Children. You will be so happy with the experience that youll be writing a 5-star review just like me.

I was referred to this office by my dentist whom my new insurance no longer covers. The appointment was for my 3 month old son who was diagnosed with a tongue tie. When he was born, there was disagreement among st dr at hospital, lactation consultants and our pediatric doctor of whether to perform laser surgery or not. Dr. Bennett performed a detailed inspection before proceeding with surgery. You would think this would be the norm; however, todays society seems to be more concerned with billing patients for services opposed to actual care of their patients. He could of easily went through with surgery, billed us and moved on, but he did not. He did the right thing and suggested that we hold off and reevaluate down the line. My family and I will forever be grateful to Dr. Bennett and his amazing staff for their professionalism. If you are in need of a pediatric dentist office, you have found the place!!! I drive from Miami because we are that comfortable with this office.

I was shocked when I discovered my 3 year old had a whole in his tooth., I was able to quickly get him in to see the dentist and have a regular checkup to have it looked at. The problem came when they confirmed the problem and then could not get my son in to have it fixed until 8 WEEKS LATER!!! This is disgusting!! I would be afraid of what this problem would become after 8 weeks. This is a WAY overbooked dentist who obviously does not want to be bothered with any real work and is only interested in overbooking his schedule with simple cleanings. The day of our cleaning we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes before seeing the dentist. After the cleaning they left us sitting and playing video games for an entire hour!! GOODBYE!!! We will find a dentist that is more interested in giving his patients the time and attention that they deserve especially when they need it!!

We love Dr. Bennett and the staff at South Florida Dentistry for Children. A while ago we started going to see Dr. Bennett because my sons dentist was no longer covered under our insurance and since he is diagnosed with Autism it was not easy to find a new dentist. I was so happy to have found Dr. Bennett, his staff is just amazing. They make you feel very welcomed and are really great with the kids. We also take our 6 year old son here and he absolutely loves it, even though he has been going to Dr. Bennett since he was 2 he still gets very nervous and the staff is always very accommodating and helpful. I highly recommended them to anyone looking for an amazing dentist for their children.
