My 8 year old cat was lethargic and had urinated on herself and the bed and defecated on the bed. The urine smelled foul and her belly area was swollen. She wouldnt eat or drink. She went to the litter box several times and attempted to urinate and strained, but was unable to. The next afternoon, my SO brought her to see Dr. Greer since I was at work. We usually see and prefer Dr. Bodie, but she was not working that day and my cat was so sick that it could not wait. Dr. Greer called me at work to speak to me about treatment and was insistent on trying to have some services that I did not think were necessary yet performed, even after I explained to him that I was on a tight budget and couldnt afford all that he was recommending. My cat was brought in for a UTI, exhibiting symptoms that Im very familiar with, having another cat that has chronic UTIs. I asked him to perform a urinalysis, antibiotic injection, and a steroid injection. These are standard in treatment for our other cat and he usually recovers within 2-3 days, just feeling lethargic and reluctant to eat in the meantime. Dr. Greer said that he will give her an anti-inflammatory injection instead of the steroid. I was not happy with this plan but was not in the position to argue at the time. The anti-inflammatory injection was twice the cost as the steroid injection and did not seem to be very effective in helping her. (When I was able to look up the anti-inflammatory later -Metacam- it appears to be rather dangerous for cats. Its especially high risk for cats that are dehydrated and can cause kidney failure. Dr. Greer mentioned several times that she was dehydrated, recommending a saline IV. He administered Metacam knowing she was dehydrated). Within 12 hours, she was crying in pain again and her fever never broke. Around 5am the morning after seeing Dr. Greer and receiving a few syringes of water, she started vomiting. Throughout Wednesday, she was vomiting and had diarrhea at the same time. I switched to pedialyte to try to replenish electrolytes but by noon today, she was crying every time she tried to move and was urinating on herself again instead of trying to go to the litter box. Ive taken her to Duke Animal Clinic. They immediately began subcutaneous fluid injections, a far less expensive alternative to a saline IV! The blood work determined that her kidneys are not functioning properly and now she must be kept overnight. I am giving this place 3 stars because Dr. Bodie is great! She cares about our pets and the pets of our friends who referred us to this clinic. Our friends who referred us here have a similar story about Dr. Greer trying to start off with the most expensive services for treatment for their cat (who also came in for a UTI). If I need my pets to be seen on Saturdays - I will take them to Dr. Bodie. Its a shame that she isnt listed on their website!

I love the staff at AHOM! They are so sweet and caring and extremely willing to help in any way! Not long after establishing care for my furbabies, I was alone and very sick and needed to go to the ER and was unsure if Id be admitted to the hospital or not. Dr. Greer and the staff offered to come pick up my furbabies from my house so my furbabies were one less thing I had to worry about. They were very good to me AND my furbabies and Ill always appreciate AHOM! The environment is exceptionally clean, the staff is friendly and very interactive with the animals, and the drs are knowledgeable and explain all aspects of their treatment plan. Usually, at previous vet offices, my pets were scared to death, shaking profusely and not willing to go to the vet, but at AHOM they are happy and very willing to go inside. That, to me, is most important! If my pet is excited to go to the dr, then so am I! I did pay a little more at this vet than at others, but I felt they were offering the best options. I WAS given choices and ultimately I made the decision to pay for those services. Dr. Greer and Dr. Brodie were both wonderful and caring with my best interest at heart. All of the staff call with updates on how your furbabies are doing. They send reminders when vaccines are needed and even call to check on your furbabies after theyve gone home after any procedures. They genuinely care and I appreciate what AHOM provided for my furbabies and would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone that wants their pets to feel safe & cared for, and in a loving and clean environment. The groomer, I think her name is Jennifer, is the best, too! I wish I wouldve found them when I first moved to Mobile. Unfortunately, I had to move back to Texas shortly after discovering this office. I only hope Im lucky enough to find another animal hospital in TX as awesome as theirs.

BEWARE!!! They tried to get our dog taken away. The animal shelter that we rescued Baby from was notified that our dog was being mistreated because she was skinny. The day before we had just taken her to the vet and we actually had conversations about why she was skinny and told them that we had just rescued her and was unsure about getting her spayed because we wanted to make sure she was healthy first. The next day which is today march 28th we have the animal shelter knocking on our door saying that they got a call about a neglected animal. We showed the shelter the dog and they were just as confused as us. They couldnt understand why they got that call because they said she looked good. (They also know what she looked like before) When we got her from said shelter she was so malnourished and afraid of people. We have been working diligently to get her comfortable and to fatten her up but that kind of stuff doesnt happen overnight Its only been 3 weeks. She always has a plethora of food and water. Dr. Greer was very professional and apologetic, he felt very sincere and concerned but we will not be returning. On a conflicting note one of his staff members, LAUREN, was very rude, conniving, and condescending.

Unnecessary Pain and Suffering. We were passing through the city of Mobile in our RV when we had to put our very old dog down. She was blind and deaf and could no longer travel. We saw Mobile Animal Clinic and called up to set an appointment for her to be euthanised. They over charged us for all services as well one of the procedures was totally unnecessary. (we had researched costs and procedures previously). They saw us as helpless in our situation and took full advantage of our temporary stay in the area. Even worse they caused our dear dog significant unnecessary pain when they put in a catheter she did not need. They were courteous but that is not enough to compensate for the pain, suffering and greed.

I took my cat for an exam and vaccinations, and the vet and her staff were excellent. They informed me about the procedures, let me know beforehand how much everything would cost, and didnt do anything without asking me first. They also handled my cat with great care. Everyone who worked there was very polite, and they were able to answer all of my questions. Their prices were reasonable for the services they provided. I would recommend this facility to any petowner looking for a vet.
