When I first found out I was pregnant I went to an OB that was recommended by a co worker. After the initial shock I started doing some research and my boyfriend and I decided we wanted a natural birth. I was referred to another doctor that was supposedly natural friendly and interviewed her asking all kinds of natural birthing questions. She agreed and seemed like she was on board. We started taking Bradley Method classes and planned on hiring our instructor as our doula. When I asked my doctor about this she questioned me if a hospital setting is what I wanted because it sounded like I wanted a natural birth! After that conversation I decided to switch doctors again at 28weeks and go to a birthing center. We fell in love with it and after taking classes there and seeing all the midwives we were informed that our insurance wasnt going to cover it. We tried fighting it but got turned down. So here I was at 36weeks stressing out over switching doctors yet again! I was paranoid about going to a hospital now after everything weve been through. I talked to our doula and she referred us to Dr. Bryan. I was well prepared this time and brought a copy of our birth plan and printed out a list of questions for him. After interviewing him I felt much more confident about a hospital birth. I was still hesitant about everything but knew there was nothing else to do at this point. After all our weekly visits my due date came and went and Dr. Bryan never once mentioned induction. He said I was in charge and as long as baby and I were healthy then theres no need for his intervention. He was completely natural friendly and agreed with all my reasonings. Finally at 40+7 I decided to do a membrane sweep to try and get things going before an induction was needed. I went to the hospital after that for them to do a NST to make sure baby was still doing good. I went home afterwards to take a nap while my boyfriend went grocery shopping to prepare for our babys arrival hoping he would come that weekend. Luckily enough my water broke that afternoon. I called my boyfriend to come home and had him call the doctor when he got home to inform him. He knew that we planned to labor at home with our doula for as long as possible and wanted us to call him when I went in labor so he was prepared. My boyfriend called the office and left a message for him to know my water broke. He called us back on his cell phone to find out how far apart my contractions were and when we were planning on going to the hospital. Our doula arrived and after a couple hours we decided to go to the hospital because my contractions started out pretty close together and knew we had a 45 minute drive ahead of us. When I arrived at Del Webb hospital I was 4cm and admitted and the nurses had said Dr. Bryan had called them to let them know I was on my way and for them to call him right when I got there. He showed up to the hospital about 45 minutes after we arrived there and checked on me to see how I was doing. He allowed me to drink and eat as I wanted and do intermittent monitoring as long as my fluid level was good. He hung out in the waiting area with my family and took a poll on everyones guesses for our sons weight and arrival time. He was absolutely amazing the entire time. It finally came for pushing and he helped me deliver my healthy 9lb 2oz baby boy without any interventions! He was stretching me out the entire time so I didnt tear and coaching me on how to push and encouraging me the entire time. The whole staff was absolutely amazing, I am so grateful for Dr. Bryan and for really listening to me and following through with everything I desired in a natural childbirth.

I love Dr. Bryan! However I just received the news, he now has his own practice all the way up in flagstaff. Hope he is successful up there but have to admit I was sad to hear I cant have him as my OB for my second pregnancy.
