When it comes to your childrens dentistry- please be thorough and get second opinions when you feel they are warranted. I wanted to love Alameda Pediatric Dentistry, but not only did the billing/back office department continuously drop the ball on getting pre-authorization forms to my insurance, they also insisted I pay out of pocket for procedures when my insurance ASSURED me wed be covered at 100%. I sought a second opinion from a dentist in Moraga, who said the procedure/sedation/etc. wasnt even necessary for my 5 year old, and it would be in our best interest to "wait and see" how my responded to some less invasive treatments over the next year. When it comes to your children- it is our responsibility as parents to do our due diligence and advocate for them. It is not okay for a medical practice to "make a quick buck" at our childrens expense.

I have no complaints. This was my first visit to Alameda Pediatric Dentistry. I visited the Oakland location with my 1.5 year old daughter. She wasnt too excited to be in a strange place, but didnt go into full meltdown. The front desk staff and the Dentist were great. We were in and out in record time. I particularly love the txting system they are using. The system txts you when you make an appointment to confirm the appointment was made. It txts you a few days before to remind you, then the night before. This might seem like a lot, but it really just keeps you on track for the appointment. I applaud their use of automation. I wish more offices would do this.

This office was recommended by my childrens pediatrician. We took our 2 1/2 year old son for his first dental visit. The office is very clean and kid friendly. lots of toys and books to read for children. The staff are nice. Dr. Wahl is great!!! He is so nice and friendly. He answered all the questions that we had.

This is a great practice. I have three kids, older now, and this is my third pediatric dentist weve head through moves, etc., and by far my favorite. Dr. Wahl rocks. He has an amazing level of patience and treats you respectfully (no "Mom, they need more brushing" and guilt trips.) Highly recommend.

Hands down the best pediatric dentist practice in our area. My 3.5 year-old was jealous last week when it was her brothers turn to go to the dentist; thats how warm and welcoming the dentists and staff are towards young children.
