Read addendum at bottom. While I would NEVER go back to Western for dental needs, it explains why I raised rating from one star to two. Google makes you give at least one star. I signed up because I thought Id sign up for the expanded dental coverage Kaiser was offering for an extra $20/mo. I picked this office because of their location. It was like something out of a bad movie. Large waiting room. There was what I thought was a cop waiting for an appointment. Turned out he was a "security" person - necessary, I guess, because of the low-lifes this office attracts. Everyone should have dental care - but I was used to having a regular dentist at a real office. When I finally got called in (my wait was about 1 1/2 hours) - the following happened: x-rays then another 1/2 hour wait get put in cubicle and "dentist" (she said she was a dentist - cleanings are usually done by a hygienist) does the cleaning. After less than 10 minutes said everything is fine. There is no way a cleaning can be done in 5-8 minutes. Maybe this type of operation is the only dental care some people can get. Fortunately, I am able to go to a regular dentist. I am going back to her - I had been with my regular dentist for 25 years. Bottom line - if you have a "real" dentist - stick with him/her. This all happened about 6 months ago. I was prompted to write this because just got an email reminder from them about mt next scheduled appt. No way to simply email a reply back to cancel and Im not about to sit on a phone tree. ============= Now Jan. 2015. Decided to make a routine cleaning appt. where I spend some months of the year on the East coast. They said if I could get xrays from my old dentist, it would save $100. My old "regular" dentist just had physical xrays. Occurred to me that Western had taken digital pics. Decided I had nothing to lose by calling since I had an hour to spare. Phone picked up after 20 seconds of hold music! Helpful woman, NANCY, said no problem. Early the next day - there was an email with xrays attached. So - felt obligated to add a positive note!!! While I would NEVER GO BACK to Western (or any "mill") - Id have to say at least one aspect of their operation has someone on the ball. Guess I need to, reluctantly, add a star.

Service today was so bad it reminded me of a skit on Saturday Night Live. My appointment was for 10:00 am today (5/13/16). The lady at the front desk had me complete a patient registration sheet. (I have been a patient there for about 4 years). When i tried to hand back the completed 3 page form, to the same check in clerk, she actually rejected it and replied "no i need to help another person first." So i kept the completed form for another 15 minutes and when i returned it, she said, "Oh i see you have completed form". I waited in the waiting room for 1.5 hours today and Western Dental served at least three or four other patients who came in after me before i was ever called. They said i did not need X rays but after reminding them i had not been there for 12 months they reluctantly had me take my X rays again. The Xray technician was quite rude and ignored my attempt to say hello, how are you. He then proceeded to literally yank me around in circles to take my Xrays from different angles. At one point he jerked me around in my chair so hard that my ankle hit the base of the chair and I grimaced by was ignored by the this small man with a big attitude. I tried to put my eye glasses down on a nearby table, and he abruptly told me to hold them in my hand instead. He grunted this twice in a very offensive fashion. I was finally seen by one of the dentist there, who I do like and complained to her about the miserable series of events that transpired in the Western Dental office that day. She shared my concern. The dentists are good there but the rest of the staff is so bad that its surprising that they are actually paid to subject patients to such abuse. Sincerely, an upset customer.

This is the worst Place I have ever been to. The staff is extremely rude and knows absolutely nothing. They really make you want to reach across the counter and slap them. They called me and told me that I had no more insurance coverage right before my appointment then kept me on hold for over 30 min trying to verify something which turned out to be their error. I was disconnected and when I called back I was given the run around to the point I just had to hang up and go in. Going in doesnt matter either. There is never a Manager there and when she is she avoids you. She is just as shady as her staff. Im still waiting on a call back and its been a year, but yet Im in collections now because I refuse to pay for something that needs to be fixed and also they charged me for service never performed. I was supposed to get 2 crowns put in. Mind you I was charged for both of them, but only one was put in and it wasnt done correctly. The dentist putting it in had a really bad attitude to the point I had to ask her was she ok before she started working on my mouth. Then when she put it in I informed her that it didnt fit right. She shaved it down so much that now it is super sensitive. The wait time is horrible and its just a all around bad place. It needs to be closed down...matter of fact the whole Western Dental Franchise needs to go. Thier corporate gives you the run around telling you if you have issues go the office and talk to the manager but if you have been trying to do that with no luck and you even had the call center call and they get the same no response what would be your next step?....Just the worst place ever. Stay clear from that place...And if your there Run!

This was the worst dentist experience Ive ever had. The first time I went I waited for twenty minutes in line for them to tell me they wouldnt see me because I didnt have my insurance card (which is a dainty piece of paper) on me even though I had a picture of it. When I asked if I could run home and get it since I live less than five minutes away or go get it after the routine cleaning they said no, theyd have to reschedule my appointment. The second time I went my appointment was at 1 pm. They didnt see me until 240pm in which they did x-rays and then sent me back to the waiting room to wait for the cleaning. I waited until 330pm and then asked when I would be seen. They said there were still three people before me to be seen whose appointments were at 1230pm. AN OVER-3-HOUR wait?! That is completely unacceptable... at the dentist? All I wanted was a friggen routine cleaning. Now I understand why almost every person I heard them talking to at the counter sounded angry-they are absolutely ridiculous. I also now understand why they need a security officer-I was so mad I could have punched someone. Two days of time off of work for this completely wasted, money paid for parking wasted. I would give this place zero stars if I could. And when I said I was leaving and Id be finding a new dentist all the secretary said was "have a great day." Rude, understaffed, overbooked, unemphathetic. Ps the x-rays I got were the most painful Ive ever had. I was in tears. Either they dont know what theyre doing or their equipment is extremely outdated because x-rays should not be/have never been that painful for me. DO NOT GO HERE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.
