Dont trust these guys. I was tempted to check them out because they are super close to my place of work. But something about the place just gave me a bad vibe. Im glad I took the time to check them out here first. These bad reviews here just confirmed what I knew. Now Ill tell you how you can spot the crooked dentists that only want to take as much money from you as they can. Ive been to many many dentists over the years due to moving/new jobs. Whenever you go to a dentist that you can see moves a lot of people through there, youre probably in the wrong place. Another dead giveaway is when the office has some sort of "Financial Consultant" on their staff. One person will come in to check you out and tell you that someone will be with you shortly. This second person will come in and have a laundry list of things that need to be done: bite guard, braces, deep cleaning, etc. If you ask what these things cost, theyll tell you that the Financial Consultant or Benefits Advisor will be in shortly to review the pricing with you. And of course when they come in, youll laugh in their face when they tell you the prices. Ive even had a dentist tell me that they could not in good conscience clean my teeth without doing a deep clean. They would not even consider giving me a regular cleaning. I walked out. When I went to a new dentist they never even mentioned anything about a deep cleaning. When I walked into Hasley Canyon Dental, they had business cards at the reception desk for each person that worked there. One of them was actually for a Financial Benefits Consultant so that was the bad vibe I got from this place. The business card might as well have said "Con Artist" on it. Use my years of experience for your benefit to spot a crooked dentist a mile away. ;c)

Like another reviewer mentioned, Ive had 4 dentists in the 8 years Ive been to this practice and theres also a constantly revolving staff of assistants. During one memorable visit, two assistants were having so much drama that the dentist was left alone to handle my procedure, switching out between suction and the drill! The constantly changing staff doesnt leave the feeling that people really enjoy working there. One of my later Hasley Canyon dentists mentioned in re: a partial filling "This work should have never been done, it should have been a crown instead" not leaving me feeling very confident in the past work done. I reached my limit when I was burned on my face by a powder residue from one of the compounds used during a procedure. The dentist did briefly apologize when I brought it up at my next visit but was a bit dismissive of my experience, saying that no compound they used could have possibly burned me and that it had to have just been a "minor irritation." (Minor irritations dont take 8 weeks to heal, discolored and peeling like a sunburn. According to a family member who is a dentist, he had a vigilant assistant lecture him about almost accidentally doing the same thing and he provided me with info on the type of burn based on the compound used) I can appreciate being on the defensive, but addressing my concern by saying that they would take steps to prevent that from happening again would have kept me on as a patient.

This office tried to overcharge us with every step, and even after they worked out the correct price by calling the insurance beforehand, when I went in for the appointment they were back to the inflated price ($600 more than it should have been) and I had to argue more until I realized I had my insurance rate sheet in the car, and that ended that conversation! They pushed for the most expensive, non-covered treatment at every opportunity. The dentist does almost none of the work. An assistant made my crown and put it in, and the dentist glanced at the work after. The crown fits OK, not as good as other crowns I have but its nice to have it done in a day. They charged me a full deep cleaning but again an assistant did the work and was done ALL FOUR QUADS in 25 minutes total. My husband went in, they said he needed 4 crowns, he got a second opinion and turns out he needed 2. They also tried to overcharge him by $1200 until we had the same arguments. I changed dentists, so far we are really happy with Valencia Dental group at Copper Hill. They also make same day crowns.

In the past 4 years going there I have had 4 different doctors. I have seen fastfood teenagers last longer at a job. I have had a crown put in which was very uncomfortable which a few years later the newest doctor admits was done wrong and now I needed a new one, again. I was credit money to my account toward the new one because they admitted that they did do the first one wrong. So I get a new one again. He now does it wrong to the points of the worst pain I have ever had associated with a tooth. After a week of trying different antibiotic and painkillers he takes another look at it to discover it was not fitted right and was able to correct it with in 2 minutes. I know doctors are practicing but this is ridicules! Oh, best yet they over charged me (plus dont know anything about the $400 credit for the first one) and were told by the insurance company that they had to refund me the over charge and it has been a month. I still dont have it and they wont return my phone calls. Now you decide if this is the kind of dentist office you want to go to...

Let me start with the dentist BEFORE this place. I stopped going to them because the last few visits I somehow had cavities every visit. (was told 2 cavities, got them taken care of, then next visit I got 3) The reason I went to that dentist office was for a specific dentist. Once they left and moved to another office far away the vibe changed in the office. I told my dad I wanted to get out of there and we looked for a new dentist. Now comes HASLEY CANYON DENTAL. Its a nice place in my opinion, and the staff are friendly. I let them do a teeth cleaning and mentioned no cavities were found. I have been going to this dentist maybe 6-8 years, and never had a problem, they replaced a filling that the old dentist put in ad a cavity got under (was on the x-ray too) If you are told about a deep cleaning, just tell them to wait and see what it looks like by next check up.

Perhaps Ive been unfair in giving a review at all as Ive never been there. Im told their reviews on Yelp are much better. Im also told some dentists have been there six years. I read all these reviews below without actually being there. ________________________________________________________ All these reviews? Im changing from Canyon Dental Group to this practice for exactly the same reasons reviewers are complaining of. Its the big hustle the moment you walk in the door. I think the modern dental practice has a daily sales quota. I think Im just stepping from the fying pan directly into the fire. Are they all the same now?
