The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable...did I spell that right? Lol. Staff is compassionate and all have their own animal stories to tell so they get it when you are worried about your pet...Dr. Zucca... busy busy but gets back to you...up front with treatment what it means and if absolutely necessary...they do charge like everywhere else but they have to pay bills too so to those who complain about prices I say would you work 9 to 5 for free? I believe Dr Z comes from uc davis background which makes me feel better plus I feel like she is pretty well rounded with ALL types of species..even saw a bat one time..lol...yes a bat. Clean office doesnt stink...they are pretty good with aggressive animals...cat grooming a plus...feral cat handling SUPER PLUS...go beyond with their help of catch and release program...and front desk girls are quick and dont hesitate to get the answer to your question if they dont know. In a business like this so many things can go wrong butt this staff and dr. Z keep it together as best they can Ive been there on busy days and Ive been there on slow days and the service was still great. I come all the way from Wheatland because I love that office and I feel like the office love animals I feel like they truly do whatever they can to save lives and more importantly to make the lives of the animal as comfortable as possible without having to charge you something that doesnt exist. I have been too many vets even when they charged me when I feel like they killed my animal because of mistakes so I am overly cautious now. I dont feel like that when I leave my pet at this office I feel confident that the people there would do whatever they can to save my animal if the situation arose I feel confident when I can leave my animal there then go shopping or do what I have to do for the day and come back and no they did what they could to be there for my babies and get them well again. So to All About Pets please keep up the good work and dont think you are not appreciated. I AM GRATEFUL. dont drive all the way from Wheatland because I like traveling with a cat that is crying in my ear the whole way driving me crazy I drive all that way because I think you guys are the best and I wouldnt trust my pet with anybody else.

If I could give a negative rating, I would. By all means, do not go there, they are taking you for an ATM machine and they deliver a level of care that is way below the par! Worse, instead of taking ownership, and better their practice, they endlessly argue! (see their awful reviews on Yelp) My cat had bladder stones and got blocked. My vet being gone for the week, I drove my cat to All about pets since they were close to us... What was I thinking? Just to take an X-ray, make a blood test and a urinalysis, sedate him to put a catheter in his bladder and keep him 2 days I got billed 1200$ (the cath costs 40$, the average blood test costs 100$ and the average urinalysis 100$). Plus, they tend to blackmail you in order to con you into buying more services - they did that to me twice - .This time it was "We will not let him out with the cath, it is either we keep him OR we remove the urinary catheter (One has nothing to do with the other, it just allows to charge more. Besides a bunch of humans are living every day of their life with urinary caths) and he will get blocked again and possibly die". After 2 days when I decided it was enough letting my cat stressing out in a cage exposed to an increased risk of nosocomial infections due to the cath in his bladder (highway for germs) combined to the exposure to sick animals and no extra care, just for the purpose of milking me some more, I was presented with a 1200$ bill! (And it wasnt during a weekend or so.) When I asked for a prescription for urinary tract food, the blackmailing habit came back again "If the cat does not stay here longer and if you dont buy the food from us, we dont make the script for the urinary tract food". The nightmare does not stop here: few days after All about pets released him I figured they have forgotten to remove the stitches that were holding the catheter in place in his genitals! What a complete lack of professionalism! They should be hiding, ashamed of themselves and apologizing, but not at all! One of their vets even dared to answered my review on yelp! UNBELIEVABLE! Do your pet a favor, avoid this place by all means.

I called to make an apt. for my dog more than an hour before they were closed . When I requested an appointment a woman in the back ground, in an extremely agitated voice, stated, If she wants an appointment it will have to be charged as an after hours emergency visit! The doctor doesnt want another appointment for the evening!" Then the man who answered the phone didnt even offer me that option and said there was availability the following day . I am unsure why the woman was so aggressive or why they have open hours posted beyond their advertised service hours (which is veterinary care). I have never used this rate and review process to rate someone; however I always read them before using a service; therefore I felt it was important to share my experience and opinion. I would be reluctant to leave my loved one with an individual who would talk like that to a person with no pro vacation. It makes me wonder how they treat their pets. I did call and leave a message telling the business that I would be takig this actio. I felt it was the right thing to do, so they see their customer service practices from another perspective. I sincerely try to support my local businesses since Citrus Heights has so many vacant shops. however this didnt go as I had hoped. I hope you find this helpful

Went to this vet when my dog Rizzo had extreme pain apparently around her jaw or kneck. Would not open mouth. Got in quickly, the Vet was very thorough, and gentle with exam. "Need general anasthesia to do complete exam, because of the pain. Schedule it with a complete dental check up, since she will be under anyway. " Left me. Assistant came in, and took dog for blood draw. She was very gentle, and said she would draw from the back area since kneck is sore. I sat in the waiting room with my dog until blood was analyzed. Different assistant came out, and said results good, but we will give a shot, and prescription to take home. When she was brought back, she was in even worse pain, and could not even move her head side to side. Gave the shot in the kneck area. I checked my bill, and the shot was not on it. I called, and they said she did not get a shot. The next day when I insisted they found the shot notation. Told me she got 2. 1 was Benadryl . Reality she got 1 shot of pain medication, and no Benadryl. Seeing different Vet tomorrow. June 21 update from Veterinarian. 1 shot was pain medication. 1 shot was an antibiotic. Dog is doing well.
