The staff there are amazing! We just moved here a month ago and unfortunately our daughter with paws got really sick, really quick. I had to take her in early in the morning and we found out it was serious and there was no good ending in sight. I had to make a decision without my husband there because he was on a flight back to the US from Iraq at that moment. I unfortunately had my 11 year old son with me because we didnt know it was gonna be that serious. I called a friend up to come get him and pick up his older brother from school. The doctor stayed with me the whole time. She didnt force me to make a decision but gave me clear and easy to understand options and what each option meant. While I was a bawling mess, trying to reach my husband as he landed in Austria because he had no idea what was going on. In the end each option lead us back to square 1 and she was still going to suffer. I made a decision and was never left alone with her unless I asked to be. The doctor or one of the staff was always there to hold my hand or comfort me. I have no idea how these Vets are able to do this multiple times a day if necessary. After it was done, I was left alone to have a moment with my sweet girl. A minute went by and the doctor came back in and said "I dont want you to go through this alone." She was crying. She consoled me and let me tell her stories about my attention hoarding, constantly needing petted, non licking(favorite attribute), my constant for 10 years of my husband being constantly deployed (but always his #1girl when he got back) furry daughter with paws. My husband made it home 2 days after she passed. We received a beautiful card with condolences from the doctor. A week and a half later we picked up her ashes. They were given to us in a beautiful cedar box with a dog tag with her name in it. A beautiful paw print of hers, a little thing of her hair and a card with a paper heart that has wildflower seeds in it to plant in her honor. This animal hospital is by far a caring and amazing hospital. They will take care of you and your furry family.

I used to live a few blocks away from this place. Had been looking for a place to take my highly neurotic and non-very-nice-to-strangers small dog when she was having health issues. A friend recommended the VCA in Point Loma saying "theyre friendly, patient, and understanding, but wont charge you for a bunch of unnecessary tests and push unnecessary medications and procedures." Point Loma was a little too far for me, so I decided to give the Encinitas branch a try, and Im so glad that I did. Ive since moved to Oceanside, but continue to drive do this place for all my dogs needs. Dr. Shvil is awesome - though everyone weve met there has been great! Everything my friend had said about the Point Loma branch is true of this one as well. Plus, when they say theyll call in a few days to discuss the results, they do - and its the Vet that calls, not someone whos never seen your pet and is just looking at the chart. I cant recommend them highly enough.

Well the parking isnt optimal but the care inside is. I have a 11 year old dog that I got for my 12th birthday when she was a puppy (three months). Over the years my parents would take the dog to our family vet. Then when I graduated college and moved to San Diego (North County) I had to find a new animal doctor. Dr. Williams was there for my first visit and I think she has done so much and really takes time to care about and understand my concerns. Some say a dog is just a dog, but to me my dog is my most trusted and best friend in the whole world and wouldnt take her anywhere else so long as Dr. Williams can handle her care.

About 6 years ago our escape dog Bodie was hit by a car. We rushed him to VCA and they saved his life. After a couple of weeks in the hospital we brought him home. A few days later we noticed a giant swelling in his flank and brought him back. The tissue trauma, which isnt found during an X-Ray, caused necrosis. They performed surgery and a week later we picked him up fit as a fiddle. Without them he surely would have died. Ive just called for an appointment with them because he cant get up now with his "good" leg. Theyre getting him in tomorrow saying "Cant wait to see him!" Animal owners, go nowhere other than to VCA.

We had a problem with a puppy we are fostering and called them in a panic. The puppy is neutered but all of a sudden his reproductive organ shot out and remained out. A girl named Lisa answered the phone, allayed our fears and gave us all the advice we would need. She told us the problem should take care of it on its own and there was no need to bring him in. She could have said he would need to be seen and subsequently rack up a hefty vet bill. I admire a facility and staff with integrity like this. If I do ever need to bring my dogs in, I would definitely visit them in a heartbeat.

Brought our dog in after hours for Bone stuck in the roof of her mouth. They calmly took her back immediately then we heard cheering. They opened her mouth enough for it to fall out. I had tried to pull it out myself. They brought her back out and told us no charge. They were fast and efficient and didnt charge us when they could have. Thanks so much!! Charge.

To us this is the best pet hospital in all of North county. The entire staff is great! They really do care about you and your pet. I cannot say enough about how great they are. I will and have recommended them to everyone I know. They saved our Jakes life. The vet called us to keep us informed everyday and everyone took great care of our boy.

Expensive, impatient, rude, lost vaccination paperwork, long wait time, do not return calls, over $300 for inconclusive results, lied to by female vet- blonde , and tall, dark-reddish haired technician, when I had gone in for a "free" check up (they quoted & wanted $800). At least I got Apoquel!

Took our pompoo in with a broken leg, there we all kinds of expensive ways to fix it but they helped us find a way that made Eddie good as new (if u didnt know it u have no idea he had a broken leg) and in our budget! Amazing service there too. Very clean place and nice customers too.

Weve been going here for 6+ years now. Its about 30 min drive for us but its worth it. The doctors and staff are excellent and the hours are convenient for scheduling appointments and there is always someone there for emergencies.
