Grand Animal Hospital provides excellent quality service for a competitive and reasonable price. I was terribly worried about having my twelve year old blind Siamese, Baby, going under general anesthesia. They were very respectful of this, treated Baby thoughtfully, and did not move too fast or move towards her head quickly, realizing that a blind cat will be very skittish with that sort of thing (she actually has a bit of peripheral vision, which makes things worse in that she can detect motion coming towards her, but in a hospital setting would not know the source.) I couldnt have been happier with the kindness and professionalism of the veterinarian, or with the outcome of Babys dental cleaning. I have a house full of senior cats, and trust Grand Animal to treat them respectfully and well. They also collect food donations for the Pacific Beach pier cats, and do other wonderful things for the community. So if you want to save money and still be assured that your animals will be treated well and competently, then I highly recommend this animal clinic. I was a veterinary technician for many years, so I hone in on things like responsiveness, cleanliness, competence, and customer service. I cannot recommend these people highly enough.

I brought 3 different dogs here, each with 3 different problems. Each time I was told they dont know whats wrong with them, gave me a large bill for all their tests and some pain killers and antibiotics. The fist dog somehow hurt herself while running, she couldnt even be pet without screaming in pain. they did tests and xrays. Told me they dont know whats wrong with her and gave me a large bill. The second dog I brought in because he kept licking and biting his forearms to the point of bleeding. They did a bunch of tests and said they dont know whats wrong with my dog and gave me a large bill. The third dog I brought in twice for the same problem over 2 years. The first time they did a bunch of tests, said they dont know whats wrong with my dog and gave me a huge bill. The second time the lady said she knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it because she sees it all the time. Why didnt the other vet know this when I brought her there last time? She then mentioned they only have a file on my dog of being there once. And no record or her from her visit to a different vet, which is pretty important because they were supposed to get info on my dogs last vet visit since this is a recurring problem.

I used to love these people. Then, they diagnosed my dog with cancer and did a surgery to "remove the anal gland" that was cancerous. I have since found out (from a trusted friend that is a practicing veterinarian) that the surgery was performed without the aide of a certified surgeon AND that my dog still has both her anal glands. How is that possible, after my dog underwent surgery and I paid over 1k dollars? Dr. Scoggin has also pled guilty to tax fraud, I found out, its in the public record, just Google it. So I guess that explains the dishonesty. I would definitely get a second opinion for any diagnosis given at this hospital. I honestly dont know, now, after 8 months of chemo, if my dog even had cancer to begin with.

I called earlier this morning about a generic flea medication I had recently put on my cat and asked for advice since she had lost her appetite. Without hesitation, the woman I spoke with told me exactly what I should do (keep a lot of water available and feed her wet food) and explained everything thoroughly. I was pleasantly surprised that the answer didnt involve bringing her in for a check-up. It showed me that the people there truly care about your pets and arent just out to get your money. Ill definitely take my cat there for her regular exams and continue using this vet in the future! Thanks so much!

This vet may charge lower prices than others for certain procedures but their service is less than satisfactory. It is nearly impossible to develop a personal relationship with them. The different nurses and vets at Grand Animal Hospital will give you contradictory and confusing advice. When it comes to meeting your needs as a pet owner with time and money constraints, they only care about one thing - luring you in for a consultation and charging you for advice that is worth next to nothing. I deeply regret having anything to do with this establishment and I hope new pet owners steer clear.

I was so impressed with their kindness and attention to detail. They were gracious enough to tell me how they prepared to take care of my bun. They kept him in a cage with food, water, and fed him carrots. They said they played with him and he was a sweet and loveable (always hungry) bun. (They would only know that if they interacted with him because its true). They gave me full aftercare instructions and asked if I needed any help with anything else. Absolutely great people, my bun is happy and lively the day after surgery so I know he wasnt mistreated. Thank you for everything you did.

In the middle of the night, our cat was in serious pain with a urinary blockage. We took him to a Vet ER who resolved the immediate problem, and told us we should take him the our vet in the morning. Grand Animal Hospital was booked, but said we could drop him off, for a small fee, and they will fit him in, which they did. They were very caring and explained why it happened and how to prevent it in the future. They seem to treat every animal as if it were their own. For the situation, it seemed to be a very reasonable cost. Thank you Grand Animal Hospital.

I am a college student and I just moved to the area so cost was a bit of a concern. The vet-techs were extremely helpful and friendly. Animal care came first and really let me know my options. They gave me an estimate up front and the Vet visit was very reasonable in itself. The veterinarian was very friendly and knowledgeable, and from what other people have told me extremely experienced. She really seemed to care about my dogs well being. Over all a pleasant experience for both the dog and myself. Thank you guys!

Hi, We are thankful for the excellent vet care at Grand Animal Hospital. The doctors and staff are very caring and professional. Dr. Field helped cure our cat Marikas pancreatitis last year. She is 12+ , thriving, and happy. We have also experienced wonderful care for our young cat, little Nani. Thank you! Highly recommended.

I have been going to this vet since my doggy was a pup. I read a lot of reviews for my area and wasnt impressed. I gave grand a chance and stuck with them. THEY ARE AWESOME. I have never had a bad experience. Very reasonable price for shots. I have also got her fixed there and everything was great.

We take our dog and two cats here and have nothing but a positive experience. They take time to explain everything theyre doing, theyre up front with costs and very friendly. We usually dont wait too long either! I highly recommend Dr. Scoggin and her staff.

Ive been taking my cats there for 4 years now. Theyre very flexible with walk-in hours for simple procedures, and the prices are hard to beat. The staff is super friendly and know what theyre doing. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
