We have been bringing our cats to Dr. Cellu for over 6 years - and she has helped us through some very tough times and has brought our kitties back to health... in particular, our Kitty Princess, was on deaths door - but with Dr. Cellus care and treatment she is healthy as can be.... Also, she and her staff is very aware of costs - and guided us, so we did not spend on un-needed test. We highly recommend BCAH. And with their extended hours on weekdays and weekends, we have been able to bring in our cats after work hours - very convenient. Also, we really appreciated the straight forward honesty with which they deal with emergency situations and state of health of our animals, the thoroughness in which they explained the situation, as well as all the options and costs. We also board our kitties there... we have done so at other places and have had our kitties come home very unhappy - when we board them at Bay Cities Animal Hospital, they always come home very tranquil and happy - we know they have been well taken care of... If you live in the East Bay - they are conveniently located, too! (We live in Alameda and make the trip over to Hayward.)

PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE! We brought our toy poodle here because she had cherry eye & we saw decent reviews on google and thought it would be a good place to take our dog but we were SO wrong! The place is dirty and reeks of animal urine! And the veterinarian is unskilled and incompetent! My first impression of her should of been enough to make me run out the back door but I gave her the benefit of the doubt, we learned how true our gut feeling was only after allowing her to do surgery on our dog, (biggest mistake! I wish I could turn back time!), our dogs eye got infected and they didnt give us any antibiotics for her to take. We took her to a different vet in union city and theyve taken really good care of our dog. Unfortunately, the surgery was so botched we are now having to take our dog to a specialist to fix her eye. If youre reading this DONT waste your time at this place, weve taken our dog to UNI pet clinic and theyve done a fantastic job taken care of her. The place is clean and I really trust the vets there, theyre very knowledgeable & you get a sense that they know what theyre doing!

My family has come to Bay Cities for the past 15-20 years, way back when they were located in Oakland. Weve come to know the staff personally and have always had a great relationship. I recent got a new puppy over the Thanksgiving weekend. Knowing what a good owner would do, took him here for his first wellness exam and shots. He just completed his 3rd set of shots this morning and is awaiting his 4month birthday for his rabies and other "stuff." The staff have always provided us with sound recommendations of what services are needed, and those that are not. Always helpful when saving a few bucks, but recommendation are based on their vast experience in the field, which makes sense for a lifetime dog owner. Never had a pet sick from here, but always had a pet recover from any ailments at home because of Bay Cities. Love them, just as much as our pets! Thanks Dr. Cellu!!

We had taken our dog to to the ER Vet where they could not diagnose what was wrong with our Great dane. The symptoms were swelling of the abdomen and other things. After charging us almost $2k they could not tell us what was wrong with our dog other then his stomach was swollen. We were irate we knew his stomach was swollen that is why we brought him to the EXPERTS! We asked for the information xrays etc and took it to Bay Cities Vet. They were amazing they were able to identify the issue within minutes and prescribe the proper medication and our 8 yr old Dane lived comfortable for the rest of his life. They were amazing and have been with all of our pets. They are truly honest and caring but will not try to rip you off like most vets especially the ER vet because they take advantage of you when you are most vulnerable. I will take all my pets here from now on.

Ive been coming to Bay Cities for almost a year with my first dog. Im not happy with their treatment with her, last visit she was so scared she peed on the table and was dragged through her pee to give her the medicine she needed. She was obviously scared and someone skilled or who cared wouldve taken the time to comfort her, instead of being forceful. Nobody offered to help clean her up or apologized for being so rough, she had pee soaked in her back legs and her private area. Also, I bought a flea pill that was supposed to last at least a month that didnt work at all. They had my number on file for another customer, wouldnt answer my questions I had about the mix up and for these experiences Ill be going to another vet. My dog deserves better than to be treated this way.

I took my 4 yr old Lhaso Apso in for shots and grooming. He had some knots around his face,so he was sedated for grooming. He had been healthy all his life. After a couple hours, I was called, "The doctor wanted to speak to me", I went in and was told my dog had died, they didnt know why. My 2 boys and I left there crying. I was offered cremation at a reduced rate of $35. Later I called my bank to cancel the $141 for shots and grooming, I was shocked when the bank told me this place denied crediting me back my money. So I paid for grooming and shots for my dog they killed. After telling a friend about what happened he told me the same place killed his Rottweiller, I know their prices are low, but it is worth paying a little more good care.

I take my fiances to pitbulls there when it needs their nails clipped, Veterinary check-ups and any injuries that very playful pitbulls happens to get into.... The veterinary doctor is very friendly and very straightforward..... And I know the facility is very friendly because none of my pitbulls are traumatized when I pick him up.... And when my wife older Pitbull Gretel had a growth on his skin.... The veterinary doctor removed it stitched it up and had the tissue sample was sent out to be examined to see if it was cancer or is it benign.... And Im happy to say it was benign.... And most of all their staff member are very friendly and very courteous....

I visited here about 3 years ago. Worst vet I have ever been to. Filthy butcher shop where they dont particuarly like animals. Staff was awful. Unnescicairlily sliced my dogs leg open - deep and long incision - then stapled it shut. Staples came out and had to be sewn up again by the emergency vet the next day. They couldnt understand why his leg had been cut open for a small puncture wound.

I have taken all of my animals here. We continue to bring them our business because they truly care for you and your animals. To the comment about the urine smell, yes, if does come off strong, but they also board animals there, so that could be why. Other than that, I would not put that on the vet. She is very kind and gentle and when animals are scared cant help but pee!
