I just moved here from Ohio and this was my first experience with the hospital or any kind of medical professionals since arriving. I brought my 7 yr old son in for complications with breathing. The Dr came in and assessed him and told us what she planned to do. With this i was satisfied. She was professional and answered all of our questions. She told us what she planned to do as far as treatment. The respiratory staff came in and gave my son a breathing treatment. They too were polite, friendly and professional. Then the nurse assigned to my son came in and without introducing herself and states that she has medicine. She proceeded to try to shove a syringe into my sons mouth. I asked her what kind of medicine it was. She responds with, "its medication." I again had to ask what kind of medicine. She says its for the lungs. She leaves. Not once did she verify in any way that my son was indeed the patient to be receiving that medication. A while later she returned and started probing my son with her stethoscope. Again she did not introduce herself, nor explain to him or myself as to what she was doing. I then asked her for her name. She responded with a one word response, "Anna." She quickly left and never returned to our room. A short time later an administrative employee had came to our room for some equipment and I asked her whom I could speak to in regards to this situation. She indicated I could speak with her so I explained to her the course of our visit there and my frustrations as a parent of a sick child being treated there. She was kind and understanding and said she would speak to the nurse. She even came back and explained to us in detail what the nurse should have explained. Later when we were being discharged a different nurse came to release us. I asked her for a verification to provide my employer for my absence. She acted as if this was impossible but still provided me with a paper. Once she had the paper in had she began marking all over it and crossing things out explaining that it was confidential information. I told her that confidentiality was out the window because the computer in our room had been up the whole time with a list of all patients in the er and what they were there for. I was not impressed with the nurses at all. However, the other staff I encountered were very polite, friendly and professional.

All My friends and family warned me not to have my daughter here. Needless to say, I didnt listen. I did not expect a parade when I walked in and everything was going fine. The nurse was helpful and knowledgable. The doctor that delivered my daughter did an excellent job. It was not until after my delivery that I experienced true unprofessionalism at this hospital. First, everyone seemed to be on their cell phone. Both greeters and nurses. Second, the response time when you need anything especially pain medication needs to be improved drastically. However, all of this I can get over. I will, however, never forgive the collections department for completely ruining my second day with my daughter. THE COLLECTIONS UNIT CALLED ME ON MY CELL PHONE AND WHEN I DID not answer she called my on the blue courtesy phone. The lady on the line demanded that i pay the $3000.00 that my insurance had quoted her as due. I tried to explain to her that that was impossible. She insisted that if I could not pay my husband come and make a payment. Once this conversation concluded I then called my insurance and after an hour of waiting to get through my insurance informed me that there was no way that to determine the amount of my copay. I called the nurse and told her what happened and asked that the billing department no longer contact me as they were causing me stress, which is a sure fire way to lower your milk production. The same lady then called me again on the blue courtesy phone and nonchalantly told me that my insurance had quoted her $3,000 and I needed to pay. I told her what my insurance said and she responded that I could then just wait for the bill. THIS IS WHERE I HUNG UP. I called the complaint department after receiving my bill which was only $270.00 not $3000.00 and filed a formal complaint. The lady I spoked to called this incident a hic-up and assured me an investigation would be launched. All I got from this investigation was a lousy letter (which I will post) and not so much as an apology for ruining my second day with my daughter. The moral of this story is dont have your baby at St Rose they will find a way to ruing the experience.

I went to st rose hospital since I had serious neck pain at 8 pm. Waited 3 hours in emergency to meet doctor!! The doctor checked me in a hall way (though I got a bill for emergency room). He prescribed some tablets, but they dont have pharmacy (or pharmacy doesnt work 24 hrs). By the time I came out of hospital, its too late and all pharmacies in 15 miles radius were closed. Had a wonderful night. That was part one of experience. I had a pretty good insurance provided by company. After a month, I got the bill, the amount I had to pay was huge!! so surprised to see that. I wanted to pay online, so called the hospital. The "bills/payment" department never picked the call (atleast I tried 7 times in different days). Finally paid bill by visiting hospital. After a month, I got another bill (with due date 1.5 month back), which was from "drpaycenter". I wasnt sure what was it because Its the first time visiting a hospital in US. Decided to call hospital again.. tried ~5 times, no answer from bill department. Then I figured it out that its doctors bill. I paid it online. Again I got another bill from drpaycenter for same amount. To verify I logged in their site, the amount still due!!. First thing that came to my mind is its a fraud. So I called st rose hospital again to check what is this. Fortunately they picked, but the answer was they are not sure, it might be a real bill. Then I called the drbillpay, the said its duplicate bill and it takes weeks (months may be) to see the update in their site after making an online payment. I was one the most frustrating experience I had in last few years. Lost money, didnt get medication on time, lost some credit score (bcz of drbillpay), spend 3 hours waiting in hospital, made atleast 20 calls attempts, spent countless hours of time thinking of this. All I can tell now is "I will never go to that hospital again.. its not worth".

Went here this weekend for a tour of the birthing center. I called several times to confirm that the tour would take place on friday night at 7. It was Halloween so I wanted to be sure. You dont register for the tour, so I called several times to make sure that it would still be happening. I arrived at 6:50 and waited 45 minutes. Finally at 7:35 (with about 8 other pregnant couples there) I asked the reception desk if she would kindly call the birthing center to see what was happening. I could her say, "Oh, so you forgot?" "Your just to busy?" "Well, you need to come down here and tell them, I dont want all these people mad at me". I felt bad for her. About 5 minutes later a nurse came down to tell us, the tour was cancelled and we could come back next time. A few of the very pregnant moms complained... "uhh my baby is due in 2 weeks. That wont work!" She called upstairs again and said we could take a quick tour. They were so "busy" that 3 nurses had the time to give us a tour of the mostly empty floor. 8 birthing rooms and 9 recovery rooms. If they are busy you share a labor room. Not cool. Only one of the labor rooms has a shower, the rest do not. Shared showers are located in the hallway, but you cant use them if you are in labor.. unless "your labor is picture perfect" as the rude nurse told me. Once the baby is born, the shots and bath are done in the nursery, not your own room. The labor rooms were very spacious and 2 of the nurses that gave the tour were very nice. But one was very rude. I am glad I took the tour, I defiantly DO NOT want to have my baby here! This will be my 4th baby and I was very disappointed with the level of this birthing center.
