I visited Santa Cruz in Dec 2016, I was traveling as a caretaker for an acquaintance with mental and physical health issues, my friend was having mental issues and repeatedly called 911 even though shes speech impaired also, I informed the police of this and they came to the hotel and checked out the situation and left, she continued to call the front desk and police, I had been going as her caretaker nonstop for three days traveling from Chicago to help her with financial business, I was totally exhausted and having been on life support ten times in the last 5 yrs, and on several respiratory medications, as I dozed off my client threw a glass of ice water in my face and out of sheer frustration and fatigue I spat on her, and later back down, she contacted police again and they arrested me for domestic violence and crime that carried a minimum one year jail sentence, as I was handcuffed and being taken to jail I tripped and fell and passed out, from a concussion, I woke up having an asthma attack at Dominican Hospital, they informed the doctor that I had a domestic violence charges against me, and I was told by the doctor that I was OK, and needed no meds even though I passed out, and felt something loose and still to this day moving around on the right side of my forehead, I was rough handled by the doctor ( A la Saddam Hussein when he was captured) and was told it didnt matter what my injuries were, that I was going back to jail, so I received no treatment, in jail I was denied food and water or medications and continued to black out for three days in jail from the concussion I suffered,,,, I am a black man, a blues musician 59 years old at the time of the incident, I have no police record,,,,,after three days I got a chance to explain my side of the story to a jail Therapist, and the District Attorney ( Bless his or hers soul) reviewed my case and realizing that I was caring for someone with mental illness and had no record or reason for violence, and I was released 3 days later,,,,,, Ive been on a minimum dose of 10mg prednisone for 5 years, and my father passed away from missing doses of prednisone, suffered kidney and heart failure and died,,,, the police confiscated my meds, the hospital or jail gave me nothing not even one of my asthma pumps, I feel the hospital was just as brutal or more brutal than the police, and an extension of the brutality that I suffered under the police for allegedly attacking a disabled white woman, I was nearly medicinally executed I continued to have blackouts and headaches for months after this concussion I suffered, the real horror was expecting to at least get help from a doctor that took an oath ( supposedly) to help others, my whole experience was a nightmare, But the part at Dominican hospital where I at least expected some help, was especially an terror filled and surreal and hellish thing, My name is Andre Taylor, and the incident happened around December 5 2016, this so called Doctor should be fired for joining the police in adding to the brutality that the police put on me in an attempt to kill me, Id this is how Dominican hospital is then this hospital is terrible.

Expensive necklace stolen from ER during my husbands heart attack on July 3, 2015. How tacky is that? To take advantage of a man while he is down, having a MI, heart attack in the ER? Then, to have patient relations and the security division tell us that it should not matter that a $3,000.00 necklace that was given to him by his father, who served in World WAR II, disappeared, because after all, THEY DID SAVE HIS LIFE! Finally, on July 6, we were told that the ER nurse remembers putting this valuable piece of jewelry in a plastic cup, then she says she covered the cup and put it in my husbands "personal items" bag. When I looked briefly in this bag for my husbands IPHONE after my husband was able to speak in the Cath lab recovery room , I saw no such plastic cup. The suspicious part of this is why she put his watch and cash in his pants pocket, but felt the need to supposedly place this solid gold necklace that my husband has worn for over 30 years in a plastic cup??? Makes no sense. When I took everything out of the bag to look for his necklace after all the commotion, the next morning, July 4--NO NECKLACE, NO plastic cup.... We plan to open an investigation, the hospital has a very specific protocol that was NOT followed in my husbands situation. If a person arrives at the hospital without a family member present, any jewelry is supposed to be placed in a vault by security. WHY was this protocol NOT followed for my husband? Maybe because the ER nurse NEVER placed it in a cup, rather, she placed it in her pocket! This is a CATHOLIC hospital, for Christs sake! How can a hospital this size not have their staff educated in the procedure for items brought in by patients? Additionally, to explain to us that during my husbands heart attack they were worried more about saving his life than his jewelry? WTF kind of excuse is that? Remove your jewelry if you are in poor health or think you may have to go to DOMINICAN HOSPITAL for any kind of treatment. They stole my husbands necklace, I am sure this is not the first time someone has been discharged without their expensive jewelry. Their excuse was lame. Thanks to Dr. Ochoa for saving my husbands life, but shame on the person who took advantage of someone in that terrible situation.

Horrible just plain horrible!!! Went there with an obvious staff infection under my nose and before even being asked for insurance, being triaged or given a wrist band a two men both in their early 20s dressed in scrubs came out to the ER main lobby and asked me what brought me to the ER tonight? One said he was the doctor and looked at my very infected area under my nose oozing puss. He said I have a staff infection and to go home and put Neosporin ointment on it. And that was it. 5 minutes in the ER on a Saturday night and I was heading back home. I was puzzled but kinda relieved. Two weeks later it was still there and now I had swollen fingers with sores all over my hands oozing green puss too!!! So back to Doom-in-again hospital ER again. This time a Friday night. I was pretty much an ass hole but not loud or using foul language, just very irritated. They triaged me then called me in. The security guard asked if I had any sharp weapons on me? I told him I had a pocket knife and a small knife on my key chain. He said I needed to leave it all with him. I told him I would put them in my car, but he insisted so I could go in with the nurse immediately. I was reluctant but just did it. Big mistake! The doctor (different one this time) looked at my nose and hands and said he was giving me an antibiotic. A $120.00 script. I asked if I could be around my children and he said it was ok like no biggie. He nor any of the nurses acted like it was a big thing. Then when I went to leave the security guard was not there. They paged him and he said he was busy with an urgent stand by and would be back in approximately an hour. An hour!!! It was already 3:30am and I had been there for 4hrs already!!! Now I couldnt even leave because he was the only one that could release my items. Car keys included!!! Finally after 54mins (I timed it) he came out to give me my stuff. Getting home I looked at my paperwork and it said my diagnosis was MRSA!!! So I immediately went to seek real treatment in San Jose at Good Samaritan Hospital
