Be aware - unexpected and confusing charges!!! I went for an annual physical exam with a VM doctor in Bellevue. Preventative care cost is fully covered by my insurance. However, the bill I got afterwards showed a bunch of charges that Im responsible for. Specifically, there were two separate office visits for this one trip, one "professional visit" and one "office visit" where the second on is not covered by insurance. I called the clinic to ask why, the lady said the discussion on the day of visit went beyond the scope of a physical exam. Specifically, she mentioned Vitamin D deficiency and a mole the doctor noticed on my back. When I told the lady that those discussions were started by the doctor after checking my record and my body, the lady told me that I could have told the doctor to stop the discussion and requested a separate office visit in order to talk about those problems. She also told me that she will send me a sheet of paper with the list of questions that I can ask during a physical exam. On top of this unexpected non-preventative office visit, a few blood tests (including Vitamin D) that the doctor prescribed were also my responsibility. While in my previous visits to VM (with a different doctor), the discussions during the visits and the subsequent blood tests were all covered by insurance. I felt this ladys explanations so absurd and against common sense. It seems to me this system (medical + insurance) is highly corrupted. The only people who are benefiting from these nonsense practices are probably those useless middlemen. So, for my next physical exam, I will not only keep my own lips sealed, but also tell my doctor to shut up.

Be aware of unexpected bill charge after annual check-up!!! Its my first time with Virginia Mason. You have to question and talk only related to your annual check-up lists that they gave you when you checked in. Also, set your timer to 15minutes. After that period time, it will be considered as an extra time. Otherwise, you will be billed with several separate bills which costed me several hundreds. However, the services were fast and good to me.

Never go here! I wont set foot in this place again. If you do and dont have insurance, be prepared to pay almost $500 for a single office visit.
