It is a pleasure to write this review! Recently our family engaged the services of Salus Homecare to transport my 84 year old mother, who suffers from dementia, a distance of 150 miles from her long-time residence to a memory care facility near my home. We were completely satisfied -- indeed, extremely pleased -- with Salus handling of this project, rather delicate and challenging in a number of respects. Our case manager, Quincie Novella, was on top of every aspect of its planning and execution, right down to stepping in as the chauffeur/caregiver herself when the assigned staff person unexpectedly became unavailable just the day before the move! Were grateful that Quincie understood the particulars of our need in the first place, and determined that Salus could provide the necessary support. During the planning, we could always count on her to be responsive, and she proactively offered suggestions and made sure everyone stayed "on the same page." On the morning of the move, Quincie arrived at the house on time (after a very early rise and a several hour drive through heavy weekday traffic), and immediately put Mom at ease with her relaxed, cheerful, friendly manner. Together with Moms regular caregiver, she carefully and gently escorted her through the yard to the car, with quiet tact and respect for the profound meaning of the situation. Of course we had to take a few photos, and she lent a hand with that, as well. :) After closing up the house -- and departing somewhat later than Quincie, Mom, and her regular caregiver -- my brother and I drove in a separate car to the senior facility. We wanted to arrive first, in order to greet Mom, and Quincie deftly coordinated their drive with ours to make that happen, updating us regularly about their progress, and pausing for a fun impromptu lunch break at a Panda Express while we caught up. The arrival synchronization worked out as desired! Once all were reassembled, Quincie helped with walking Mom in, introducing her to her room, and ensuring that she was comfortable on her bed after the long, tiring journey. Quincie did not appear in any rush to leave; on the contrary, she clearly considered it her task to assist until Mom was settled and victory could be declared! We very much appreciated the positive feeling she gave that she was a full participant with a stake in the whole process. Much more than "just a chauffeur," throughout it all Quincie demonstrated her professional caregiving expertise -- her sensitivity to, and empathetic understanding of, the special challenges that seniors (and their families) face. Her attentive involvement played an essential role in the smooth success of Moms moving day! So, our sincere thanks go to Salus Homecare as an organization, and to Quincie Novella personally, for being there with exactly the sort of help we needed for this transition. They have our unqualified recommendation to others requiring senior services. Thank you!! :)

Salus Homecare was cared for my mother as if she was family. My mother has Alzheimers Disease and my stepfather was elderly (94) and even though they lived in an Assisted Living Facility, my mom was in need of extra care that could not be provided there. So, in order for them to stay in the place they were living (Heritage Pointe), my mom required an 8 hour caregiver who could take her to activities and monitor her personal care including dressing, showering, tolieting, teeth brushing, hand washing, etc. These are the skills that my mother believes she is still able to do proficiently but she cannot so I needed someone who could help her but not make her feel incapable. The caregivers from Salus did just that. Salus strives to maintain continuity which is helpful for an Alzheimers patient. My mother had the same caregiver 5 days per week and a very few different ones on the weekends. Again, when one weekend worker was not available they always tried to find another that was familiar to my mother. The most important time last year that Salus was needed to take over my mothers care immediately was when my stepfather was taken to the hospital. They provided 24 hour care quickly despite the fact that it was holiday time (New Years Day). A schedule was set up for my Mother of exemplary Caregivers who maintained a log to advise each other of the important factors of their shift so the next shift would know what to do. My Mother was staffed by caregivers who worked 12 hour shifts in order to minimize the number of people coming in and out of her home, to decrease her confusion and agitation. Our case manager, Quincie Novella was excellent. Whenever I had a concern she addressed it immediately, professionally and efficiently. I was very impressed by Quincie from the first time I met her; she was compassionate, attentive, professional, efficient, trustworthy and caring. Our primary caregiver, Caroline was awesome. She treated my parents like they were family. She encouraged my mother to do things she did not want to do but needed to do without making my mom feel like a child. My parents adored Caroline and looked forward to the days that she worked. The best qualities of the Salus Caregivers, Coordinators and Case Manager was and is that they listen to their patients and family members. I found that they did their very best to meet the care needs of my mother, met my stepfathers needs whenever possible without ignoring my mothers need for care and complied with the special requests of the family. I would recommend Salus Homecare without hesitation to anyone looking for caregiving for their parents and/or themselves. They are the very best.

Salus Homecare is a true blessing! Leaving our Mom in the hands of strangers was something we never considered until the day our mom had a very serious fall nor did we realize how un-nerving it would be to say "Ok, good night, Mom" and go home realizing that our mothers care was in the hands of a perfect stranger! This is not easy to do and would not have been possible for us siblings if it were not for the "true angels" and truly awesome management staff of Salus Homecare! We were blessed to have two amazing gals, CJ and Michelle, who from the moment we met them, we saw in their face the angel-like care and listened to their professionalism and experience and were instantly set at ease! These two gals could not work 7 days a week so we had other gals care for our Mom and when those gals did not work out, we called Salus Homecare and within hours, not days, they had a replacement gal on site. At times I felt like I was being too picky or too harsh on my feelings about the other gals. But nothing is too good for my Mom and we needed to feel right leaving our Mom in the care of someone else. Salus Homecare never once made us feel like we were being too picky! That was HUGE! The Management Team of Margarita and Quincey were also quite awesome, very professional and on top of every aspect of my Moms care. I would DEFINATELY refer this company, especially the 4 people listed in my review for the care of anyone in need! Angels on earth they are!! :)

My husbands dear friend and former co-worker, who has no family, fell ill with Alzheimers a few years ago and had to be placed in a home. Marvins trustee felt it necessary to have a personal caregiver to help Marvin during the day and give him some companionship. Salus Homecare chose their employee, Gustaaf, who is an angel on earth...the most warmhearted and caring person I have ever met, be that caregiver! Marvin was so fortunate to have Gustaaf by his side Mon-Fri, from 7:00am to 7:pm. My husband and I feel very fortunate to have met Gustaaf and gotten to know him, and now consider him a friend of ours. Gustaaf was great in keeping communication with us regarding Marvins condition. It was a huge relief just knowing he was with Marvin and that Marvin was getting the appropriate care and love (Gustaaf would mention that he looked to Marvin like his own father!). When Marvin left this earth to reside in Heaven on June 21, we had the fortunate opportunity to bring Gustaaf with us to the gravesite service and get to know him even better. Thank you, Salus Homecare, for choosing such a wonderful person as Gustaaf to be with our dear friend and in turn, giving us a friend we can rely on. We would most definitely recommend your services to others who are in need of caregiving. God bless you all! Cliff and Dienna Rogers
