It sucks. It is the worst experience I never had. The screw of my new glass was missing and I went to the store to ask if they could fix it. They put the screw in but the screw is not fit in my glass. They said they could cut the screw to shorter. I was waiting for 20 min and I asked them how long I should wait for. I saw my frame was broken and they are discussing how to tell me. They told me that it is not their responsibility. I need to pay from my own pocket. The person told me is the manger in the store. She said that is their policy. If they fix the eye glass and broke by them, they will not take any responsibility. She told that everyone knows that policy. The staff did not tell me when I ask if they could fix it. How wonderful it is!!! You broke it and you did not need to take any responsibility. All is customers responsibility. They only said I am sorry and I understand what you feel. But, our policy is when we repair, it broken, it is customers responsibility. None of our business~~~~~How nice store it is~~~No responsibility for anything!!

Ive been going to Insight Optometric for a couple of years now. Dr. Dery himself is a world-renowned expert in eye care; and was a primary investigator in a number of clinical trials for eye care. Instead of completely retiring, he decided to return to seeing patients. Thus, he really is the grandfatherly type of Opto, who knows more about eye care than any other Opto Ive been to before (he can even predict how healthy your heart is by looking at your retinas). That said, when he took over the office, he had high turnover in office staff, and almost every time Ive been there over the past two years, theres been someone new up front (which is kind of sad, because I really liked the one woman who worked there.) I think that, plus some personal tragedies, has caused the office to go downhill a little; but if they could get reduce turnover at the front desk, Im sure the place would rate 5 stars.

This place has the worst costumer service ever! The staff never called me to let me know that my contacts had arrived for pick-up after a week of waiting. When I got my lenses replaced, Dr. Dery broke one nose pad off my $500 pair of glasses in the process and replaced it with one that didnt look like the other pair. I insisted that the pair of nose pads should be the same. He even attempted to charge me $5.00 for the other pair. Carey, who is Dr. Derys assistant, is only interested in selling you more more pairs of glasses and contacts than you really need. I ended up returning 6 boxes of contacts because I realized that I didnt need 12 boxes. After multiple unreturned phone calls, claims that Dr. Dery and staff were extremely busy, and lots of run-arounds, it took over a month for me to get my freakin refund. I regret coming here and will never come back. I recommend others to do the same.

Clearly most of these reviewers are used to generic walk in eye stores. I have been Dr. Derys patient since I moved to LA, in 1980. This man saved my eyes from a poorly fit pair of contacts by my previous doctor. He diagnosed a tear in my retina missed by others. He has been able to fit me and correct my vision better than anyone else Ive tried, and believe me when he retired about five years ago I went to several, including Jay Lenos doctors, and did not get the care I have from him. Im so glad he returned to practice. No, this is not lenscrafters, and if you want cheap this is probably not your place. Go elsewhere if you must for the glasses, but if you want experienced, excellent care, hes your man.

The staff is nice and Dr. Dery is a nice guy, but I wont be going there any more. I was a customer under the previous owner (whom I really liked) and have been disappointed with the switch. He is nice but when he discovered the pressure in my eyes was a bit on the high side he recommended expensive follow up care that my optical insurance doesnt cover. When I mentioned this to a friend, she make me realize that I needed to be seeing an ophthalmologist (not an optometrist like Dr. Dery), and that in that case my health insurance kicks in for the care. I feel kind of swindled that Dr. Derys office didnt make this clear to me, and that he would have rather taken the money out of my already meager budget!

As opposed to the other reviews, I really like the new Dr., Dr. Dery. He is far more thorough in his exams than the previous doctor, really took time to explain options for vision correction and was a sweetheart, personality wise! I DO agree that the selection of frames is pretty bad, but since I am primarily a contact lens wearer, I dont mind. Plus, they custom-ordered frames that they didnt stock for my fiance. Service is a little slow, and I did have to go back for two follow up visits, which is my biggest complaint. Otherwise, great location and a great Dr.!

Doc. Dery took over for previous woman who was great. Hes a nice guy, but really focused on the $$. I agree with previous post, no-return/exchange policy is a deal-breaker. You need to try frames outside of the office to see if you like them, which is new to Dery.

Sure the Dr. is nice, in the grandfatherly sense, but that doesnt mean hes a good eye doc. I was pretty unhappy with the exam and frame selection compared to other places ive been to.

Go to LensCrafters and get your moneys worth. This place has horrible customer service and refuses to refund your money if youre unhappy with your purchase. Thumbs down.

Not sure why anyone would want to go to a mom&pop eyeglass shop. This place looks like its from the 60s and has frames to match. Plus the employees are hostile.

Great Optometry office! Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Takes VSP and Eyemed insurance. Thorough exam with an extensive amount of frame selection.
