Dr. Steven Gausewitz through my personal experience is a class act from beginning to the end. When you meet with him you are aware of his range of knowledge and confidence. I was so impressed by his staff and the care and after care I am receiving. Dr. Gausewitz actually corresponds with me on a daily basis through a website. He asks me about my general well being, pain levels and questions about healing and exercise progress. I get an immediate response to all of my questions which is amazing and totally unexpected. My total hip replacement went off without a single problem. Dr. Gausewitz operates out of the Hoag Orthopedic Institute in Irvine which is one of the highest rated operating theaters in the country. This man is a consummate professional at the peak of his professional career. I recommend him 100% without any reservation.

Dr. Gausewitz is an excellent surgeon who works closely with you to best meet your needs. He will not leave a room until he has gotten you to ask all the questions that you have. He is thorough & makes sure you understand all possible options to surgery as well as possible risks. He did a hip replacement in 2007 in which I had no problems all went smoothly. I am just 15 days from my full left knee replacement surgery performed by Dr. Steven H. Gausewitz of Newport Orthopedic Institute. Things have gone extremely well, as I gave up the walker in favor of a cane a week ago and I am able to function independently quite well. I can drive to the pharmacy and with the cane go in and pick up my Rxs. Dr. Gs staff took care of my paperwork for a temporary disabled mirror hanger for my car. My daughter still does the heavy shopping, but I am a happy camper!

A very skilled, professional team. Two weeks post-surgery, Im walking well, using a cane for some stability. Still sore, pain and swelling are subsiding. Controlling with medication and ice. Received excellent, caring care at the hospital, and good followup rehab at home.
