Went to this Optometry place because I was in the area and the other place down the street didnt have an opening. By dumb luck I walked-in and the next available appoinment just happened to be at that time so they were able to take me in within 15 mins. The front staff was very courteous and all they needed was my ID for the coverage. Pretty lucky for me, I got a full eye exam through VSP insurance coverage with just the copay. Dr. Linda K. Hur, O.D., was able to give me a thorough eye exam (hadnt had one in over two years) with dilation and various eye tests. Dr. Hur was awesome, she was very informative and was very thorough in testing me, letting me know what each test was for and explaining the various degrees of change in my sight from my previous prescription. Excellent work Doctor! Then Dr. Hur took me to their eye glass area where I was assisted by, Melinda. She was really helpful in helping me pick out new glasses. I wasnt sure if I wanted to go with something completely different or keep the same style, but I told her one or the other. She showed me pretty much most of the glasses that they had available until I was able to settle on one pair that I genuinely liked. Apparently my head is kind of big (must be all that knowledge, lol) and I needed a larger size of frame and they were sort of limited, but I did find the perfect pair for my needs. She was very helpful and we were able to banter back and forth, she was accommodating throughout the process. We settled on a pair of Oakleys and with my new prescription, I was able to get out of here with a excellent pair. The glasses took about a week to come in, as they have to send the stuff out. When they came in I was ecstatic about the new look. I recommend for all those in the area to give this place a chance in searching for new frames or eye care needs. Ill definitely be back when I need another check up, or when my insurance kicks again next year to get a new set of sunglasses!

I was trying to renew the lens on my glasses. The (not so nice person) took the prescription, and checked my insurance. Took away my frame, and only then mentioned that my balance is 100$ for the lenses. To a simple question of, how much am i and my insurance are being billed for, the person responded with "you will get a receipt when the glasses are done" really? we will call you in less than a week... well, still could be worse, right? 9 days go by, no call. I call them up and come over to pick up the "who knows how much i really paid for" glasses, and guess what, the lenses are wrong, the number on one of the lenses is not even close to the number on the prescription. well, still could be worse, right? then i spend the next 5 minutes being reassured that the numbers are right. even though, i can clearly see that the numbers on one of the lenses are WAY OFF. the lenses are checked again, and the machine agrees with my observations. so i asked for the deal to be canceled. hopefully they will. and hopefully, the people reading this bleak review, will avoid this place. I can actually think of an establishment that provided worse service. AVOID AT ANY COST

The husband and I were overdue for eye exams (feeling rather gun-shy since our last experience with a new optician wasnt so great) and we were able to get an appointment without too much of a wait, and were received very quickly when we arrived. The opticians were very informative without being patronizing. They were straightforward and practical in their guidance, and professional in conducting the exam. The staff in the opticians office and the downstairs eyewear showroom were incredibly helpful and patient with helping us figure out how best to apply our insurance benefits (calculating whether to use it for contacts vs. glasses, for example). The eyewear selection in the showroom is decent. We didnt find a ton of glasses that worked for us, but we both found pairs that we liked quite well. Very glad we tried this place and were returning this year for our annual exams.

Very unprofessional. Had an appointment, went there and was taken to a room for various screening process. Then suddenly mid-way through the process I was asked to go back to lobby and wait. I was told that someone else is ahead of me. It sounded very weird, how can they ask me to go back to lobby in the middle of an examination. After some time I was asked to wait in another room, and the doctor didnt show up for more than 15 min. I went back to lobby and asked whats happening. They didnt know a thing, but told me that they will check and get back. I went back to room and waited another 5 min. I went to lobby to check again on whats going on, and they didnt have any clue. I said Ill have to leave since no one is paying any attention. And they said sure and asked me to call them to reschedule via phone or there itself. Dont think Ill be going back.

I have been going to Mountain View Optometry for probably close to 10 years. My doctor is Dr. Szeto. I truly cannot say enough great things about her. She is super great. Very friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk to. Very personable. But also, very knowledgeable. She makes you feel more like a friend than a patient. The staff in the store area is super great too. Through my years there, I have never had one bad experience. Everyone there is very friendly, eager to help and very patient. They never rush you and are always there to answer any questions or help pick out frames. I highly recommend Mountain View Optometry. From the doctors to the clinic. I could not be more happy with them!

Exceptional experience and I will return for new glasses. Broke my semi framed glass support, two days before my international trip, and the lens could not be reinserted. What other optometrists in town could not guarantee to do, partly due to no availability of tools for this style of glasses, MV Optmetry said they could, and Jaycee (?l) did a perfect job, while waiting. The best: no charge! My early Christmas gift. U I bet I will be back for my new glasses with this exceptional service next year. Merry Christmas!

Ive been using this optometry for myself & my wife for the last 6 years. We generally see Dr. Schwaderer and have no complaints. He listens and satisfactorily answers all our questions. However, people in the shop downstairs are a little less friendly (and the smiles on their faces disappears) if you are do not spend over and above your insurance limits.

The doctor and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was very happy with my eye evaluation and would strongly recommend MV Optometry. They also happen to have a good collection of glasses. This is probably the best place for eye-care for someone who lives around Mountain View and is insured by VSP.
