I recently fostered a rescue dog who needed to be neutered. Delta Animal Clinic was highly recommended by a good friend, and they were able to match the price of the local SPCA neutering clinic (but take him sooner). When I dropped him off, I explained that he was a shy dog, and they reassured me that their clinic works with shy animals. The problem? He had a bad reaction, when he woke up from the surgery. He growled and snapped at the vet tech-- something he has NEVER done in my care. Their response? To use a pole, grab him by the neck, and drag him out of the cage. Then, they LECTURED the person who was picking-up the dog. They did not even call me! The dog went home with a bruised eye and NO INSTRUCTIONS for aftercare. I dont care if a vet believes a dog should not have been sent from a different country because "there are plenty of USA dogs that need adoption." I dont care if the vet believes that the reputable non profit organization that is sponsoring the dog for adoption "must be making money off of this, somehow." You NEVER mistreat a dog under your care. The dog didnt ask to be sent to the US and fostered. It happened. Deal with the here & now, and dont blame the animal. If you are really familiar with shy dogs, then you should have handled the situation differently or called me for help. Never, ever again will I use Delta Animal Clinic. I trust my animals to loving, caring people who put the dogs health first-- not politics. This vet took an oath to protect life. Shame on him for not following through on the care of my foster dog.

If youre looking for a vet, look no further. Delta Animal Clinic is truly an amazing vet! After experiencing several other animal clinics, some horrendous and some have been good. This was my first trip to Delta and I have got to say I was blown away! I called around to other vets as my dog had made a bad choice and ate a kids toy, none of the vets could make time for my dog Hank. Delta Animal Clinic was able to see him almost immediately(30 after I called). Dr. Hallstrom took the time and talked with us about what we needed to do to help Hank. All of my questions and concerns were addressed thoroughly and immediately. He fixed him up and had him ready to go later in the day for a price that was well under what I expected for the service that I received. I dont see me using another vet after this amazing experience. Thank you Dr. Hallstrom for your great and amazing care.

We visited Delta Animal Clinic because it was the closest to our residence. We were greeted by Dr. Bob as he likes being called. He then crouched down low, pet the dog, then proceeded to spank her playfully (but quite hard) several times. He injected the vaccine, then smacked her playfully on the butt several times. He played with her and grabbed her snout, and she growled. He then proceeded to lecture us that shes gonna bite someone real bad soon and that shes poorly trained and we need to enforce strict rules and that this behavior is the worst hes ever seen and when I attempted to defend her and say that shes never bitten anyone before, he says My 40 years of experience are more than yours" Medically, hes alright, but his attitude is very unprofessional and rude.

I love Dr. Hallstrom, his wife and all of the staff there at Delta Animal Clinic. Dr. Hallstrom has been the family vet for three generations now! I trust him implicitly, hes honest, and not in a rude way- matter of fact and straight forward. Because of Dr. Hallstrom and his team, my pet (whos not just a pet to me, but part of my family), has had a better life and I have been a better pet parent because of the wealth of knowledge and experiance hes given to me and my family over the years. Dr. Robert Hallstrom- This guy is good- REALLY good. He came highly recommended and I have been using his services for just under a decade. He is a great general vet and his prices are very affordable compared to the rest of the market. (But the Low Cost Spay-Neuter clinics and vaccination clinics are lower still.) For orthopaedic surgery (hip replacements, OFA Certification, etc.), I like Dr. Fitzpatrick in Modesto. He teaches at UC Davis school of Veterinary Medicine. Ill post more details later.

My family has been going to Delta Animal Clinic for years. They have always treated our dogs very were, but any time we call to schedule an appointment we are treated very rude manor. So rude that I have been considering going to a new vet.

We have used Dr. Bob for 20 years and he is a wonderful person and loves the animals. My cats and dog are very comfortable with him. I highly recommend this man to anyone looking for a Vet.

Doc Halstrom is the best there is. He doesnt push expensive tests etc on you...hes been doing it so long he know how to tell.
