I have been fighting with Kaiser apt my medications from the second I stepped into Riverside Countys Kaiser network. I have an incredibly painful and progressive form of MS. My treatment plan includes medication that falls into a C2 category which requires a hand written (now can use a digital signature if the doctor specifically signs up for an electronic signature specifically for controlled medications) triplicate copy. I just moved into Riverside county around January 10th or so. I called to make an appointment to get to know a doctor to possibly have a primary in the county because youre not allowed to schedule an appointment to see a doctor if you dont have an assigned primary doctor in Riverside Kaiser. Are you freaking kidding me?!?! I pay for my insurance every single Month but Im not able to get an appointment scheduled so I can plan for me getting there since Im 100% disabled and I live 40 minutes, without traffic-much longer if the is traffic, from any Kaiser Facility. I live 1 hr and 15 minutes without traffic to the Riverside facility. I was told that If I dont an assigned Riverside KP primary care doc the only way I am able to be seen is if I call in the morning and get a same day appointment with whatever doctor had an opening that day. I am treated for several chronic conditions so having a new doctor each time is unsafe! Not to mention it looks very bad to have my medications filled by a different doctor each time. I also run the risk of the doctor not being comfortable with filling my medication and telling me that I need to see another physician. Which requires me to get another appointment, which I would only be able to get a same day appointment, and find a way to get there safely. Plus I get treated like an addict by 80% of the people I talk to at Riverside County Kaiser. So I finally got a primary care doctor at the Wildomar location. as the doctor was reviewing my medications he noticed something about the medication used for treating my MS and made a comment about it because he has 2 friends with Ms so I guess that makes him a MS specialist and the right to judge me and misinterpret my medications and treatment plan. Then I also told him that he was wrong and explained how he was wrong. I told him he didnt know how the disease modifying drugs worked and what they are used for. he then said I needed to see a neurologist and did NOT tell me that I had to see the MS specialist for Kaiser Riverside. When I look at up the doctor I discovered that he is a compensated Speaker for the drug company of the medication that made me sick and Im not interested in the other ones so Im worried Ill be pressured into going on one. Im also scared that hes not going to listen to me, hes just going to go off of my chart. I have an appointment today so Ill find out soon enough. To be continued... page 1 of 2

I had Kaiser as a kid....but...not very happy with Kaiser nowadays. Im paying $202.61 a month for health insurance...but not getting much actual attention to my health issues. I called the advice nurse today...which before talking to them you have to go through a interview process and explain why you need to speak with the advice nurse. So it takes twice as long and you have to verify and explain your issue twice. Then the advice nurse has no available openings for any Drs and offers a available appt 1-2 months in the future or go to Urgent Care. So I go to Urgent Care...they charge me $40. more to be seen. Then a 2 hour wait. My specific issue is of a re-occuring sore throat on my right side..with pain in swallowing food/liquids..I can feel swelling on the inside of my throat..pain that radiates from that area to my ear and down past my colarbone into my upper chest..my voice is hoarse and changed..and pain behind my right eye. The Dr comes in...rubs my throat, listens to my lungs and then looks into my throat..I say "aaaa" like he asks and he says nothing abnormal. Then he says since I have a Hatial hernia its from acid reflux. I told him I havent had heartburn or acid reflux in 8-10 months. Then he said-unless You have a upper resperatory infection. But take these-prilosec- for 4-6 weeks and follow up with your primary Dr. ....and if it gets worse then come back to Urgent Care. This IS NOT heartburn or Acid Reflux. Im not paying my monthly bill to be milked for more money. My primary Dr at Kaiser is a good Dr. This Urgent care hassle and treatment and attention...Is worse then welfare medical...which I can say from experience. So I pay $202.61 a month. Then $40.00 for the Urgent Care visit...and then another $25.00 for prilosec-which I dont need. If I find that Ive been misdiagnosed and my condition worsens...I will call a malpractice lawyer. Also Im Not too happy about the bad mouthing about patients by Drs and staff in Urgent Care...you can hear them in the hallways when waiting in the exam rooms with the doors shut waiting for the Dr to see you. Just not professional. After hearing what I heard...they dont care about solving health problems...they make jokes and downplay the patients issues. What I heard today was...Oh,Mr -------, comes in every other week with a new problem..theyll probably be back in tomorrow-chuckle chuckle...are you working tommorrow?..yes...oh so you get to deal with him again-chuckle chuckle...no,Ill take lunch and let someone else deal with him. Not good. I bet Ill get an - Im so sorry for your bad experience...but contact us at kp--its a mass generated response.

first off i like to say it was very poor service i would think because it was kaiser it would be the best at what they do...well i went in on a sprain ankle to the emergency room hoping they would just give me splint. the wait wasnt to long there were many people waiting.... so why when i get it did i have to wait 2 hrs in the hall way, i mean the bill said it was almost 500 bucks on just the room and attention, what room!!!... when they had me change they didnt even give me a changing room just told me to go in the bathroom i thought it was weird i mean if my ankle is messed up give me somewhere i can sit to change had the most difficult time changing in there i was going to sit in the toilet but there was blood all over is that clean that blood could have aids for all i know, and the lady that i made a complaint to told me how come you didnt say anything, i got angry told her its not my job i assume since its a hospital you know staying clean and germ free is the way to be, 3 separate patients went in the bathroom and did not use it because the blood they told the nurse but from the time i was there till i went back in to change the blood was still there.... thats nasty.... so during the whole time i was in the hall way i had to tell the doctor what was going on im not sure if he even looked at the medical records at the end of my visit i got the splint that i wanted and the doctor then released me he said i didnt need cruches but as i was walking out he handed them to me i said wait you said i didnt need them he then said just take them anyways i was confused why take something i didnt need, as i was paying the co payment found out it was 150 argued a little bit but agreed to pay it when i asked the girl why it was so high she said because they provide better care there.... really why did i have to wait in the hall way and change in a bloody bathroom that sound like good care? when i got the bill it was surprising but made since why they insisted on taking the cruches on there i see a charge for 196 for x ray 230 for the splint 346 for the cruches and 500 for there service and rooming, really i get xrays for 60 $ down the street cruches i have a set from a previous accident the splint charge i approve and 500 for there services and rooming really they also asked how come i didnt ask for help when i was changing i mean you all when to school someone with a messed up ankle has a balance issue thats common since especialy if your a full pamper service hospital i cant do there job for them....
