A little pricy compared to our regular vet, but the quality of care is worth it. Originally I had only planned on taking my dog in for boarding, but the night before, there was a nail trimming accident at home and one claw was cut too short. I bandaged it up and waited until morning to see if it was better. At first i only saw dried blood, so I washed the dogs foot to check everything out, but then it began to bleed again. I called colonial heights vet and asked if they could look at his foot and patch the dog up before boarding. Initially, the plan was just to board the dog, but the staff was more than happy to help with a minor last minute emergency. As I had never used their services before, I opted to stay with my dog until everything was bandaged up and he was ready to be boarded. The veterinarian was very thorough and was attentive to my dogs needs. He sedated him so that he could take care of the nail without a struggle, and talked me through the entire process so that I knew exactly what was being done. He made sure that I saw the kennels where the dog would be kept, and opted to place him in a quiet section so the dog could relax a little after having his foot bandaged. He asked the kennel staff to make sure the dog wears a plastic boot when going outside for a few days to avoid infection and put him on antibiotic as well. He made sure to note that they would call me later in the evening to give me an update on my dog, even though all this happened on a Saturday and they close at noon. Very thoughtful people at this office. I had made sure to meet the kennel staff in the days prior to this to ensure I would be comfortable leaving my dog here. The lady I met with was very friendly, and my dog seemed to like her as well. They have a fenced in yard, and take extra precautionary measures to ensure that pets do not get loose while going outside. Unlike my previous vet, this office was more than happy to allow me to see their kennels and showed me where all my dog would be kept. Kennel facilities are very clean, and staff is very friendly.

This clinic actually deserves more than 5 stars. I called several clinics/hospitals with concern about my 5 week old pit bull puppys health and sickness. No other place seemed to have any compassion for animals as they do money. However, Colonial Heights Animal Clinic showed concern and were more than happy to assist me and help my puppy. It was my first visit and as I walked in the place, the atmosphere was wonderful. I could feel the love and compassion from all of the smiling and friendly staff. My puppy was diagnosed with Parvo and is still in the hospital (prayers and good vibes please) They told me I could call and check in on him anytime. Today, I called and they said that my little Murdock is doing really well and progressing with no trouble (fingers crossed and prayers up) Also said that I may just get to bring my baby back home tomorrow. Long story short, everything about this animal hospital is amazing and the staff/Vet is PHENOMENAL! Colonial Heights Animal Hospital will be my regular vet from now on, and I live in VA (almost an hour away) but it is so worth it for my furry baby and I have never been to any other clinic like this one before. Thank you Doctor Anthony Gray and your amazing Staff!!! God bless

This is the best place to take a beloved pet. When Bree got very sick they took excellent care of her. It was during a holiday I was having a hard time knowing she was in the hospital. The doctor took her home with him so he could make sure she got the best care. How could I ever thank him for doing so much plus saving her life. They have the best staff, doctors Ive ever known. I couldnt imagine not having them to care for Bree who I love so much. They honestly care so much. Susan & Melody have talk to me so many times when she was sick which got me thru her hospital stay. I take her for her for her baths. They do a great job. I know I could never imagine going anywhere else & Im sure Bree wouldnt either. They are the best veterinary in Tennessee! Take your pets to the best veterinary, if you want the best for them then take them here. Im so thankful for everything they have done for me & Bree. There arent enough words to express how much they mean to me.

I love Colonial Heights Animal Hospital and all of the staff. Both Dr. Hyatt and Dr. Gray are wonderful veterinarians. Everyone who works there loves animals and they are all knowledgeable, patient, and kind. They helped me deal with the kidney disease and blindness that my toy poodle, Penny, had during the last months of her life and helped with sending her remains to be cremated and returned to me when it was time for her to cross the Rainbow Bridge. They accepted her as a patient after I moved to Kingsport when she was already a senior in declining health and helped her to live to be over 16 years old. They now have my new friend, Mitzi, as a patient and I am confident they will provide her the best care possible.

The staff at Colonial Heights Animal Hospital is so attentive to the needs of my animals and to me. It is a genuine priority to them that my animals are cared for immediately and their needs met for healthy outcomes. They are caring and informative. Whenever or whatever the situation, they are "hands on" to help, with hearts that truly care about our pets and us, the owners. I am so thankful to have Colonial Heights Animal Hospital and these fine, knowledgeable, caring and kind people there for me and my animals. The facility is warm, welcoming and exudes a calming environment for pets and their owners. I could not ask for anything more or better for my pets and their care.

Ive been taking my animals here for over 10 years now. I had previously taken my dog Coco to another vet who werent helping her AT ALL and had called numerous other vets asking for advice. Dr Hyatt was the only vet that actually took time to talk with me over the phone, before I had even been to their office and told me my options. Five minutes into my office visit he had diagnosed Coco correctly and surgery scheduled. She lived another happy 10 years after that until she was 19. This is the only vet Ill ever use. I cant possibly say enough good things about everyone there. Ive referred many friends to this vet who also feels the same way.

Dr Height saved our golden retrievers life many years ago after complications during surgery at the weekend emergency airport clinic and stabilized her enough to get to the UT vet school where they performed a complex surgery. They expected her (a 10 month old pup) to live maybe a year or two and to have extensive health problems. She lived to 14 years old with minimal health issues. We had been seeing Dr Cherry and followed him when he opened his own office, but I would always recommend Colonial Heights Animal Hospital. They are more expensive, but all medical care is whether it be for a dog, cat, or person. Always had a good staff.
