We never actually made it to see Dr. McRoberts, who may indeed still be as great a vet as the recommendations that brought us to her place of business indicated. We still do not know if Dr. McRoberts, or Jan is the owner, but a lawyer is ferreting that out. What we do know is there is a serious front desk issue involving a woman named "Alice" and that she is inept and verbally abusive to thepoint she should have been fired many months ago. When quoted one price on the phone and denied that package in person, "Alice" referred to "Jan" (owner?) as being "bad" or something, and it was not clear that all the other prices would be honored, as we had a second cat that was also waiting at home for treatment, but took the littlest one in first. When I questioned the pricing change and the owner/mgr or whoever was "bad", Ms. Alice decided she was going to handle it by throwing me and my sick kitten out of the office. It appears they have pulled this bait and switch on customers before, and it appears from public records in one prior incident the PD was called. I took my sick kitten and called on the PD, and the BBB, and a lawyer, because no one gets to threaten me when I question a set of bait and switch prices. Esp. with a sick kitten right there, crying out for treatment. This woman "Alice" seems to have repeatedly demonstrated the sort of trashy behavior associated with drug users; no one so young could have so terrible a short term memory. I had to repeat 3x I hadnt been a customer before, then she still asked if my kitten had been there before. She said there was no such medicine as the one my kitten was given, then she backed off that, she couldnt understand when she was told the first time who was the primary owner, and, a heads up here, she wanted to see my D/L to bring in a kitten? In 20 years of vet visits Ive never had to show ID for my pet.... nope, theres something else going on behind the scenes there, with the help or with the owners knowledge. The vet may be great but in vet practice the chain of care is only as good as the weakest link, and this one has someone behaving like a bona fide drugged out psycho working there, who will have access to your pet for basic tasks. Lets see was that 10cc or 1cc to inject. Is it worth it? Because the owners are aware of this already publicly recorded pattern of abuse, we are speaking with lawyers. We are not sure BBB mediation will suffice here. UPDATE: 12/17/2009 The BBB reviewed the complaint and since it contains criminal allegations (bait and switch), and we were seeking punitive damages, they offered an alternative list of agencies to help with processing our complaint, which is more serious than they handle. So, now there are other agencies involved that actually have some teeth to make this little clique stop their front office assaults on unsuspecting customers. I am going to keep this updated here, since I believe there is far more going on behind those scenes. Others who know them think it is straight up discrimination, race, age, sex, or sexual orientation, so were now writing that Sacto agency as well, and let all these agencies stick a thermometer up their business to straighten them out. In this economy no one refuses paying, straight up, informed customers, who actually make decisions in this bad economy to take resources and time and adopt a rescue kitten and take it to a vet - nope, something else is going on with this little cabal. PS Dave the dog trainer and Susan N - thank you for your reviews. I would have chalked this up to discrimination, if I hadnt seen your Google reviews, and then the BBB would not have been allowed to take the complaint, if I thought that was a factor i.e. when they see what your race/age is.It may still be a factor in determining who gets to be treated like trash, and who gets treated with respect, Id say its important for everyone to file complaints legally, so the system can work, as lawyers get to see whats on file and see patterns.

My Dog became sick around November of 2014 screaming out in pain every 10 minutes or so, I took her to an Emergency vet that suggested she had pyometra after numerous expensive tests they found out that was not the case and thought she may just have back pain. They prescribed pain medications and sent me on my way. After about a week my dog was still screaming(I have no other way to describe it every ten minutes). I took her to Petcare Veterinary Clinic where she met Dr. McRoberts for the first time, they asked for her to stay there for the day and I was afraid this was going to be another 500 visit but they only charged me about 50 to watch her for the day. After speaking with Dr. McRoberts she sent me home with some more pain medications and the doctor was visibly frustrated that she couldnt figure out why none of the pain meds were touching her pain. I left for thanksgiving to go see my family and received a call on Thanksgiving from Dr. McRoberts that she had been thinking about my dog and thought she might have an idea of what it was , Meningitis. She said that sometimes in her breed that Meningitis could show up from a couple of different sources including recent Vaccinations...I hadnt told her that a couple of weeks before my ER vet visit that she had received her Vaccinations from one of those mobile clinics. She had me come in after the holiday and that was the problem. She treated her accordingly and my baby was out of pain, I was and am so thankful for the assistance I received from Dr McRoberts. Her staff as well are amazing, the hold time in the morning is a bit much, but I have been there in the morning and seen what a mad house it gets to be.

I wouldnt recommend these people to my worst enemy.I have a Sphynx kitten. She is a $1500 cat. Every time I call these people they put me on hold. I waited one time for 23 minutes until I finally hung up and called back. This time when they answered they were really rude and they said they were with a client and asked me to hold again this time I was on hold for another 10 minutes, when they answered they told me they would have to take a message and call me back because the vet was with someone. They Never called me back. When I called them and finally got an appt. They first took her temp. Sphynx cats have a higher tempature that a normal cat due to the lack of hair. They told me they thought she had a tempature. I corrected them. Next they looked in her ears and swore she had to have the slide test for ear mites. these cats also due to the lack of hair in thier ears have dirtier ears that a normal cat. It of course came out Negative. They gave me a cream to put in my cats eyes called Terrmycin. They prescribed it for 14 days. After about 7 days she became really hard to put the ointment in her eyes. even when we wrapped her in a towel. I again tried to call these people. They again put me on hold. this time for 12 minutes. I was so angry I hung up and called a different vet. When I took her in this time I brought the ointment I was given. The New Vet told me That The only should have prescribed this ointment for 7 days. AFTER & DAYS IT STARTS TO BURN!!!!! I couldnt Believe it! We discontinued the use and her eyes cleared up right away! I would not take any animal to this vet to save an extra $10. They are lucky we didnt sue them.
