WOW! Where else can you go at 3 AM to have a very sick dog diagnosed with Parvo? Oh no! Parvo is a death sentence unless you have a ton of money or can home nurse the animal yourself. The vet and nurses taught me what to do with take home instructions. They set me up with an IV bag of fluids, meds, etc. A Parvo dog will die of dehydration so I had to slip the IV needle under her loose skin along the back then squeeze the IV bag to fill up a "Camels hump" of fluids for the body to absorb. Had to give her antibiotics, and anti-vomit meds, etc. BUT IT SAVED HER LIFE! And Im talking about a gorgeous red sable Russian Wolfhound. The $2000 she cost me was not the point - she was a fabulously athletic, joyful, loving dog. She would have died if I had not been able to drive 60 miles to this place in the dead of night. This Emergency Vet is a wonderful thing to have, to know it is there, and be able to find highly intelligent, experienced vets and nurses - 24 hours a day! Sure, I had to dig money out of my savings account ($350) but they earned it and my everlasting admiration. Parvo kills! Hospitalization for Parvo can cost thousands! But they taught me what to do and I did it. THANK YOU! The amazing part? Nursing her back to life bonded us in a special way - she knew I was helping her and was grateful. On the fourth day I woke up wondering if she had died that night. Just then she ran into the bedroom leaping into the air to dive bomb me! "Im alive! Im alive! You saved me!" as she washed my face with her tongue. BE GRATEFUL THAT EXCELLENT VETS ARE THERE 24/7. If you cannot afford veterinary care then you really should not own a dog at all. Or else study Vet medicine online so you can be your dogs vet. Doctors work with me all the time because I do the homework, I study online, learn, and am not a helpless client. They will help you get meds at affordible prices, etc. But dont be an energy sponge to skilled professionals. They are not your mommy & daddy, they are not your Santa Clause. Like it is said - God helps those who help themselves. Amen!

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE. They let my animal lay on the table with a high fever for 4 hours while i tried to gather 2000.00 plus before they would touch him. They dont care ..they made me feel horrible because i didnt have that money on a sunday while my dog was dying in front of me. I took him to Hardin Animal where Dr Vicuna worked most of the day to save him. My baby died monday afternoon. I hope all of them are inthe same position some day and are treated cold and non compassionate as i was. Funny how Hardin could give loving care abd for half the price.

Dont take your pet here. Theye are with withholding my 11 year old chocolate Labradors diagnosis from me. Because I dont have $200.00 for the xrays they took. I left there with my dog in pain and still suffering. Dr.Terry called and left me a voice-mail asking me to call him that he found something. When i returned his call the Receptionist said when I came in to pay for the xrays $200 then a Dr.would speak with me. I asked so your withholding my dogs diagnosis because I cant afford to get him treated? She said yes its not free and hung up on me.
