dont even know where to begin with the billing issues regarding Metro Family Physicians. Ive Received numerous bills that I owe them various amounts of money when I paid them in full, using my debit card on Jan 5, 2196 and have my receipt as proof on the original day of service in JANUARY! My bank also has the transaction as further proof. To start, I was actually double-billed for the service. I called and spoke to both Susan at Metro and to Heidi in their billing department, who assured me that the one charge was a mistake and the second was for the doctor visit but that she also showed my payment as well so she would clear it out and I owed nothing, my credit was fine and this would not affect it in any way. The last time I spoke to Heidi about this was in mid April, again, assuring me I dont owe, I paid cash, I do have my receipt as proof and she would take care of it. Forward to today, May 16, 2016, I received yet another bill that I still owe, it is highlighted in yellow that I am 90-120 days late and the statement date is dated April 21, 2016. It took over three weeks to mail this to me, but you have the time to highlight how late you think I am?!? So, tomorrow I have to spend MY time calling Heidi to attempt to clear this up. I will also be calling the Better Business Bureau, the National Healthcare Anti-fraud Association, the state of CA medical board and Turko files on KUSI. Based upon other reviews, this happens often, and Im starting to think its a huge scam. How many people have paid and then get bills months later and pay them because they didnt have their receipt or couldnt quite remember from months ago, simply because the billing department for Metro Family Physicians simply cannot get their act together? This is a serious issue on their billing departmentss behalf and it is unethical and fraudulent. I dont want my credit affected by this "bill" that I PAID on January 5, 2016 to which I have my receipt and my bank shows the charge. I will be fighting this vigorously and will be finding a new doctor ASAP. Patients beware and always keep your receipts!

I reviewed earlier. Its below. I ended up leaving this place because they wasted my time with scheduling Errors and archaic medical advice regarding cholesterol. (They literally gave me a photocopy of a 35-year-old pamphlet with outdated information and then for some reason stood by it when I pointed out that it was old and no longer accurate.) I moved it to the UCSD system and I am much happier now. ==== I cant say enough about how friendly everybody is. I wish I could say communication lines were better, though. 3-stars = "Its okay" 2-stars = "Disliked it." Both are true, so Id do two and a half stars if I could. It wouldnt be difficult for MFPHG to get another star or two out of me: - Faster prescriptions to pharmacy (some are instant, the latest is taking weeks and multiple calls) - Stop sending me email spam. - ...while taking many days to answer questions I send through the patient portal - ...which doesnt notify me when I have an answer from the staff, so I have to randomly login to see if theres a response But the location is okay, staff is friendly. Im too new to rate the care. My guess is that these are speedbumps thatll be smoothed out soon. Check back!

Ive been with Dr Marin almost since the beginning. Her office was on Clairmont Mesa Blvd at the time, long before she moved to the office across from Sharp. Shes taken very good care of me over the years, but sadly now Im moving out of state and will have to look for someone as great. Yes, her office is often busy, but to me that just means a LOT of people think the same. I wish her and her staff well and will miss seeing her but I pray I can find someone as good when I get to my new home. So remember, the reason were called patients is because in almost all doctor offices, it requires patience in the appropriately named "waiting" room.
