We had a terrible experience with Doctor Langstons practice and I believe it was due to Lanston accepting too many patients and not having enough staff to run his practice.. Our son was only two weeks old and I told Dr. Langston during a visit that I was concerned because our baby boy had been throwing up over a period of 24 hours. Dr. Lanston didnt seem to acknowledge my concern and gave me another brand of formula. I could tell by his smiling expression that he thought that I was another nervous new mom. He didnt even say if this continues please call me. He made me feel stupid. Four hours later our baby son continued to be sick and I decided to trust my gut and my husband and I rushed our son over to UCSF emergency. Thanks to my medical background plus working in the medical field I was not going to let anyone undermine my instincts. UCSF took us in immediatly into a room and sent us one of their best pediatricians. Within 30 minutes they determined that the valve between my son stomack and his intestine was too small and he need to operated on as soon as an operating room became available the next day. Thanks to UCSF for listening and handling the situation immediately. UCSF is an amazing hospital for pediatrics!!! If I had not listened to my instincts and held off another 24 hours our son could have been in a very serious situation or worse. After surgery Doctor Langston finally called two days later around 8 pm in the evening and all he could say was I didnt see this in my diagnosis. We stayed with Dr. Langston another 7 months until we go into a good practice. We contined to have bad experiences but the situations were minor compared to the one I described. For example our son caught a virus and he had a temp of 104 and three days later we still could not get in to see Langston because his office said he was booked. He has no nurse to triage and he really needs on with his patient load. I guess he finally got another doc to help with the work load. When we finally switched practices it took 3 to 4 months to get Dr. Langstons office to send over the vaccine and medical records. I called several times our new pediatricians office called several times and finally the records were sent over when I told the office staff that I was coming in was going to stand at the window till they handed them over. I thankful that we are in a great practice where doctors listen, they have two nurses to triage when things get tight. It is tough when you have a little one and you dont trust your doctor..

My son received his check-ups and immunizations here. The staff were terrific, professional, and understanding when I got sick to my stomach watching them impale my son with a hypodermic needle the size of a tent pole. in each thigh, then blackness as I couldnt watch any longer. But Doctor Langston himself is such a calming presence. He has an easy manner to express yourself to, while maintaining a sudden laser-like focus concerning your child during his time with you.

All I can say is that we are blessed to have Dr. Langston and Dr. Johnston. Their knowledge combined with their passion for their patients is simply a blessing. Office staff is also amazing, they are the sweetest and kindest people you will ever meet. Dr. Johnston and Dr. Langston are absolutely the BEST, we dearly love, adore and appreciate them.
